This place is just a little slice of heaven on earth, from the warm service to the glazed sticky buns (my family's favorite) you can never beat a home town bakery. With the open concept kitchen that everyone can see you really get a feel that they know what they are doing enough to show it off. The price point is amazing for what you get. I highly suggest taking home one of their beautiful homemade pies baked daily because between you and me they make a great late night snack that you don't want your partner to know about. I've been dreaming of the day I can go back to Rolling Pin, AKA knows as "THE bakery" again. Everyone nearby knows that "the bakery" is superior. Everything they make is from scratch. Everyone knows the owners and people come from all over just to get a taste of their kitchen. I LOVE hole in the wall bakeries, but this tops every one I've been to. They have the best soups in the fall, the best pastries for breakfast/breakfast wraps, and the best sandwiches for lunch. Beautiful bakery in a great small town. This bakery is so good it is worth the drive. I absolutely love their pies. The crust is perfect, light, flaky, a little salty. The chocolate pie is perfect comfort food. It reminds me of my great grandma. The sandwiches were also excellent. I had a Rueben and my wife the club. The Rueben was perfect, great bread, sauerkraut, corned beef, and thousand island. The club was so good with the soft and delicious croissant. Thanks you everyone at The Rolling Pin. Special place that does exactly what you want it to do. Provide great breakfast and lunch at a small town price. Had the BLT lunch, and that little extra by brushing melted butter on the break helps take it to the next level. Bread toasted on the flat top and not in a toaster, and the bacon and tomatoes fresh. That's does it! The Rolling Pin's altruism and commendable community engagement just guilted me into the review I've been procrastinating. The remodel is great as the other Yelp reviewer Rita mentioned. Very nicely done. One thing you might not notice is the very nice outdoor area out back. I would recommend it weather permitting. Their lunch menu is short (no grill or fryer) but what they do have is very good. Great house-made croissants are used to make their sandwiches. The clincher: the nursing home my mother-in-law is in just threw a Mother's Day party. The Rolling Pin donated dozens and dozens of delicious muffins for the residents and their guests. This should not go unrecognized or unrewarded. read more

I was passing through and grabbed a chicken sandwich and a slice of coconut pie. First off I am extremely picky on chicken salad and this was hands down one of the best chicken salad sandwiches I've ever had. The texture and flavor was so on point, amazing job. So I'm not a big sweets fan as I feel people overdo the sweetness, but his pie.... It was beyond perfection. The pie crust has this incredible crust that is buttery and hits a perfect pairing of sweet and salty. And isn't dry!! So not only was it the most beautiful pie it was a pure heaven. My husband and I stopped in for lunch at this adorable bakery and cafe. The sandwiches were delicious! We each chose a dessert after lunch also. My husband chose the carrot cake and rated it the BEST ever! I chose a peanut butter cookie that was absolutely delicious! It was so hard to choose which dessert to get so we ended up getting several others to take home with us! The covered patio looked like a lovely place to enjoy lunch too but it was raining so we ate inside. Thanks Rolling Pin for offering such delicious choices for lunch! I came across this place while on a business trip. It is an amazing place in a small town on the Missouri River. It is housed in a block just off Main Street. The rehab is really awesome. High tin ceilings and period furnishings make the place feel authentic . The pies prove that it is! I've been to a lot of bakeries but have never seen meringue like this. It is fantastic. I had the chocolate meringue pie the first time. It was good, not too sweet and the meringue tastes as good as it looks. The second time i got a whole coconut cream pie to take home with me. It was fabulous. Oh, by the way, they serve lunch too. In-house made croissants with fresh meats and fixings. It was good too. It's worth a trip from the Columbia, Boonville or Marshall Missouri areas. I highly recommend it! read more

Found this little bakery in this river town. The smells of fresh baked goods hit you as you walk in the door. The large display case was full of fresh made Muffins Cookies Sticky Rolls and other items. I chose the large Cinnamon Rolls. I never thought anyone could make a Cinnamon Roll like my mom. But they do. It was still warm soft and delicious. And the center part melted in your mouth. Perfect!! They also offer a breakfast Burrito along with the pastries. Other items on their lunch menu included great sounding sandwiches. On their own baked breads and croissants. Soups and chef salads. What a great find. Very friendly folks.
