On display inside are several awards for their products and indeed their bread is very nice. It appears that they now offer a soup and bread service however this is illustrated by a photograph of an empty dried cup-a-soup packet and the finsihed product with a roll..I think they would be better with more home made soup. The staff are always friendly and as it is right near the busstop it is a great place to pop in and grab something before/after work. Champs also makes cakes to order.

It had wooden tables, sometimes covered with red-checkered table clothes. Each setting had a candle and it was fairly quaint. As a Canadian who wanted to leave the crowds of London it was perfect. Paired with an awesome guy, the entire evening was incredibly romantic. The service was prompt, friendly, and quite attentive. The highlight of the evening was our glass of wine and their Rockerfeller (sp?) oysters cooked with cheese. Best oysters I've ever had, hands down. I ordered the crab, and my date had the local sea bass. The fish was cooked properly and was quite fresh. It's quite a large fish, so you better be dedicated to flavour of fish and only three baby potatoes when you order it. Because ultimately it was quite simply marinated. The crab was done... differently. I don't know if it's a British style of cooking crab, but to eat the crab cold felt like I had lost some of its flavour. Another reviewer said that creamy roe was placed in the shell, I'm not sure if that's what it was, but it was pretty plain. In fact both of our dishes were fairly plain. Ultimately I think you should come here for oysters and fresh food, but I'm not so sure the prices were completely fair. But you can chalk that up to my igloo-maple ways!

I'm sorry to say, I can't recommend Dairy Crest and am on the point of cancelling my regular order…read moreand my direct debit. I complained to them some weeks ago that several bottles milk delivered dated 18 August were sour before that date and that on 19 October they delivered more bottles with the 18 August date on, i.e.a day out of date already when I'd complained about the previous delivery being sour. I had already emailed them twice and rung their telephone comments line, but it was clear that the person at the other end, in a foreign country, was just primed to recite a script and was not interested in my complaint and my suggestion that this milk cannot have been refrigerated before delivery, in a very warm period. I then went on holiday, so cancelled my regular order, hoping to receive some communication from you while I was away. The only thing I received was a another call from a foreign country which was difficult to understand saying that my email had been forwarded to the depot, i.e. yourselves. It's now 3 September, and although I have been told that I have or will be refunded for the deliveries I complained about, I expected that I would also have received an apology and some recompense for the repeated trips to the supermarket I had to make to buy replacement supplies, not to mention the telephone call and the two messages I have already sent you. This is just not good enough Dairy Crest - please tell me one good reason why I should continue to use your services, when I suspect that you don't look after your supplies properly in warm weather. My husband has also complained to the Environment Health Dept. at Thanet District Council, who have yet to reply. Maybe you should be closed down for putting people's health at risk? Please have the courtesy to reply to this communication! The café also does a nice line in sundaes and the usual fare you might expect. Inside there is a delightful 1950s jukebox, formica topped tables, chrome leffed high stools and all the paraphenalia of a classic 50s seaside café. There is a step-up into the café, but once inside you're on the level so it is as accessible as it can be bearing in mind its location and the need to protect against an enthusiastic sea . . . that step might sometimes be the one thing against you and the North Sea! Retro is a delight, do pop in if you're thereabouts.
