In the mood for clam chowder my mom and I stopped in for a quick lunch at the bar. It was amazing. The music was upbeat. The crowd was helpful- although I was asking strangers questions (which could be interepted as intrusive). That was not the case here. I don't typically finish my food (very slow eater) but I ate all of clam chowder in one sitting. I ordered the calamari as to accompany my soup. They were superb. The freshest, lightest, yet satisfying calamari I've had in some time. The portion size is huge. My mom ordered chicken parm and she was impressed. My sister had some of her leftovers and asked where did we go because she had to dine there! Itook calamari home and my 8 and 9 year old devoured the leftovers I warmed lightly in the air fryer. I plan to come back for a romantic dinner or maybe even solo date. I was told reservations are reccommended.

My husband wanted Italian for his birthday and thankfully I stumbled upon this lovely restaurant here on yelp! The space has a great ambiance and we were seated in a stunning room with a fireplace. The decor is beautiful and the wine room looked absolutely spectacular. The service was excellent and our server was so nice. We got plenty of appetizers to try and portions are so generous! Everyone loved everything! I especially loved their house made cavatelli. Our only regret is not saving room for dessert! One of the owners, Tommy, is so friendly and came to our table at the end of our meal and it was a great personable touch. Roma is great for night out with family and friends or a romantic date night spot. We cannot wait to come back!

This place was highly recommended by one of our coworkers, and I absolutely loved it. All the food that we got were amazing. By the time we got to our main entrees, we were already full and took the rest home. The service was great, but the only thing I will say is that it took over an hour since we got sat to get our main entrees. The vibes of the restaurant were great! I love the dimmed light, fancy restaurant feeling.

After hearing about Roma for years, I finally smartened up and checked it out. We were greeted warmly at the door by Tom, one of the owners. Staff were friendly and attentive. The menu has good variety, but not diluted into every known Italian dish. Instead, Roma focuses on quality dishes of pasta, veal, chicken, with tantalizing app's and a few add-on sides. We had a 'bigga meatball' (pic), stuffed figs+prosciutto, then fresh Cavatelli (mine was sausage fra diavolo), followed by killer Tiramisu. Truthfully, after the meatball app, i dove in and forgot to take pic's because all was so good - I promise to update on next visit, which will be soon :-)

Work Christmas party took us to Roma Ristorante. 4/5 The ambiance was so beautiful. We were in a room with two other large groups, which meant it was loud. The room was beautiful though. The service was great but slow. It was a Tuesday night with one waitress handling three large tables, so I don't hold that against them. The waitress we had was very kind and went above and beyond for us. The food... For apps we tried the calamari, stuffed mushrooms, and Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts stole the show there with the calamari a close second. The stuffed mushrooms felt like they needed some more seasoning. The entres, personally I had the rigatoni Al la vodka and added ricotta, hubby had the seafood pasta (a special) and the other dish was my aunts handmade pasta dish. Over all the food was delicious. The scallops on the seafood dish were amazing. For dessert, we tried the cannolis and the Godiva cheesecake. Overall a great experience and I would definitely go back.

Went to Roma with my cousin on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy but they said we could sit at the bar and eat. The bartender was friendly and a lot of fun! She served us fast and got our food order in right away. We sat and had wine and the most delicious meal. Great lively atmosphere and seems to be a local hang out spot. Very nice inside, bar area is small and cozy, in addition to the dining area they have a whole other side where you can book for events and such. The owner was super friendly and came to chat with us a couple times, even took us on a little tour of the place. After we ate our meal we ordered dessert which was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I've never had such good rainbow cake as I did here! I am drooling just thinking about the food there!

Not what it was. Portions half of previous. Prices much higher. Shrinkflation at its worst.

Good food but extremely loud patrons in a small space made it unpleasant. Wine list is all bottles - no wines by the glass.

They share a funky space with New Curds on the Block cheese shop in an old brick mill building. We climbed a rickety wood staircase in the back of the building to get into the shops. Don't enter through the front of the building or you'll end up in a karate dojo. They sell super fresh fish and shellfish - Atlantic Salmon, Yellowfin Tuna, Black Sea Bass (MA). Blackfish, Sardines, Pink Shrimp, Scallops, Soft Shell Crabs, Steamers, Littleneck Clams, Gem Clams, PEI Mussels, and Crab Cakes. You can order online and pick up at their Oakville Shop, Bantam Farmer's Market, or Washington Depot Farmer's Market. We swung by yesterday and had a hard time deciding what to buy. I was tempted by the soft-shell crabs because I never had them before. But ultimately, I chickened out and went for three of their big crab cakes. They were $7 each and worth every dime. They weighed in at 4 ounces and were PACKED with crab meat and very little breading or filling. A few minutes in the air fryer at 350 and they were as good as any I've ever had. As I said, they share retail space with the New Curds on the Block cheese shop (after all, the two owners are married), and after we bought the crab cakes, a wedge of Dutch Knuckle cheese, a tin of smoked mussels, some addictive Maple Toffee Almonds, all of the purchases rang up on a combined receipt.

The shop's name refers to an idiom that is used to express something being completely full. CONCEPT: The shop provides a curated collection of seafood, and associated seasonings, to Litchfield County. LOCATION: To the Gills shares a second floor corner suite with a cheese shop and knife sharpener. The suite is located in a building that long served as the site for Seymour Smith garden tool manufacturing. AMBIANCE: The shop is decorated with many unique items, such as an old cash register and oven. Tremendous windows line the time-worn brick walls of the former factory which had been built in the early 20th century. FOOD: The shop sells custom poke bowls and prepared chowder, crab cakes, and seaweed salad for quick meals. Shellfish, fin fish, smoked fish, and seafood seasonings are also sold, including uncommonly found fish such as parrot fish. SERVICE: Service is friendly and knowledgeable. TIPS: To the Gills also sells through the Washington Farmers' Market during warm weather Saturdays. There is no seating in the building, but there is a gazebo with two outdoor dining chairs and a side table in the parking lot. Neighboring Steel Creek has a bench overlooking the bridge. There is no elevator in the building. The second floor can be reached via an outdoor ramp that stretches across one side of the L-shaped building. To the Gills periodically serves raw oysters at neighboring Lasting Brass Brewery. Check the brewery's event calendar. To the Gills occasionally arranges informative events at the shop. In November I participated in a caviar tasting event in which eight different fish roes that are sold at the shop were featured and their provenance described. Follow the shop's Instagram account for future event announcements. A cheese shop (New Curds on the Block) and blade/knife sharpener are located in same suite.

We went there on 5/26/26 for my 43rd birthday, my husband surprised me with reservations for our family of 3 as we had been wanting to try Tramonti for a few months after hearing rave reviews from our friends and family! The restaurant is very comfortable with lots of seating options including indoor tables, a seasonal outdoor eating area and covered patio. We were quickly seated by our server in the patio section and got our drinks in record time. The menu is vast with a plethora of choices that all look positively appealing to those of us who enjoy Italian fare. They also have a very wide array of "adult beverages" in their wine list/drink menu as well as a great selection on their dessert menu. We ordered the Antipasto and we all throughly enjoyed it! Then, we were gifted with a complementary order of some delicious mussels. I ordered the Veal Marsala, my husband ordered the Veal Parmigana and our son got the Shrimp Scampi. While initially I thought those who had recommended Tramonti to us were being overly "dramatic" about the portion sizes...they surely were not! Definitely plan to come hungry and leave full with LOTS of leftovers to enjoy! Our food arrived to the table very quickly, everything was cooked perfectly and you could feel the attention to detail in every single bite of your meal. Toward the end of our meal, the chef came out to introduce himself and wished me a Happy Birthday. While I know it sounds silly...it felt like you were eating dinner at a family members or friend's home. Your glass is never allowed to go empty of your drink of choice, the servers check in on you to see if you need anything and just make sure you're enjoying your meal...it's a very comfortable place to have a nice dinner! Since our dinner last night I haven't been able to stop raving about Tramonti to everyone! We already have made plans to return in a few weeks with our good friends and fellow foodies from Portugal!!! To the Staff of Tramonti: Grazie di Tutto. See you again very soon for another wonderful meal!
