I was in the mood for Chicken Francese and after searching the McKinney surrounding area. Roma's had good reviews. Online it said it was spicy so I called to place my order to request non spicy. They were able to make the work no issues. My husband ordered the Chicken Murphy and we got the meatball sub for our toddler. All of the food came in nice size portions and they even packed the rolls for us as well. The Chicken Francese was really good and I will definitely order it again. My husband loved his food as well a the bite that I fried was tasty. The meatball sub was big and my toddler loved it. I'm looking forward to coming back here to dine in instead of taking it to go. read more

Tried a few items from this place. Over all a solid local Italian restaurant. Service vibration when you walk in could be lifted a bit to create more welcomed experience. Many options are hot and fresh. Ingredients are good quality. Red spaghetti sauce has one note could use more complexity in flavor. Muscles- nice and plump. The sauce is good and should be used as the basic sauce used on other dishes. Tiramisu- creamy, flavorful, light, great taste. Calamari- chewy, good crisp, could be more seasoned. Again... red sauce needs elevation in flavor. Stromboli- stuffed with ingredients not skimpy at all. Dough is nice and thin. Huge portion definitely can be shared. Would definitely order this again. Owner greeted us at the door as he opened it himself for us. Hostess told me wife she was very pretty. Server was prompt, courteous, and efficient with taking drink orders, then appetizer order, then entre orders. Chicken Francese was amazing. Meat lasagne was amazing. Ive gone here many many times with my significant other, and we have not had even one bad experience. Usually, we get the same table in the corner which honestly I love bc its pressed against the wall and honestly i kinda have some social anxiety here and there. The service is amazing, the waitress we usually have is very attentive, recognizes us, and very kind. The food is amazing, the bread is always so good, and the food quality never waivers. I usually get the spaghetti and meat balls, but my partner is definitely the more "adventurous" one out of us both and has loved everything he's tried on the menu. Amazing Italian food. We prefer to go here over anywhere in the McKinney/Frisco/Allen area. The vodka penne is top tier. The sauce is a perfect balance of sweet and salty. It's so creamy and makes you want to eat the whole bowl. The free bread is also delicious especially when dipped in the vodka sauce. We will go out of our way to drive up here for food. The pizzas are also very flavorful & delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with any order. It's a small local establishment, the pace is very relaxed. Overall a very chill environment. We visited Romas Pizzeria in Anna today and were truly impressed. Since the new owner recently took over, the quality of the food is outstanding. Honestly, this was one of the best pizzas we've had in a very long time. We're originally from Europe and have spent a lot of time traveling in countries like Italy and Croatia, so we know what a great pizza should taste like -- and this one was absolutely spot on. The service was exceptional, very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt like a proper, cozy restaurant where you immediately feel comfortable. This is one of those restaurants that I stumbled on and wished I lived closer to. We drove from Fort Worth to meet a group for dinner. So my adult son and I got there early to beat traffic. We were hoping they had a bar so we could sit and wait. Loved the decor when we walked in and happy to see a bar. We're not big drinkers but one glass of wine and an appetizer was our plan. Well, we met and talked to the nicest bartender. She recommended the calamari and made my son a great drink and got my glass of wine in a jiffy. I'm not normally a big talker out in public, but she was so nice and we talked the entire time until our party arrived. That calamari was absolutely some of the best I've had in along time. It was crispy and had a ton of flavor! I could eat a plate of that just for dinner. We sat down and had the same experience with our waiter. The restaurant got busy very quickly and he was running around but still attentive to us. The table loved our calamari so much they ordered another plate for them. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my son ordered chicken and vegetables. One of my buddies ordered a Stromboli that looked so good, that I almost snuck a bite. My scheme scampi was awesome! The linguine was great and that sauce was very tasty. I didn't try the chicken and vegetables but my son said it was really good. Great pizza! Homemade crust, so tasty! The restaurant is very pretty, clean & great service.

We went last week, and I debated reviewing. But I think, after a week, a review is warranted. The highlight was our service. Our server was attentive and responsive. The place was nicely decorated and had a welcoming vibe. Now on to the food. It was simply not good. It felt like in place of sauce they were using gravy packets. It was not terrible. But it was not good. Salty brown gravy on chicken Marsala was just weird. Appetizers were bland. Signature drinks were imbalanced and awkward. I wish them success as Anna needs good food. But they still have a ways to go here. I hope to try again soon. read more

This was my first visit to Roma's. I placed a take out order via their website. I ordered a large meat lovers pizza which was priced at $17.95. Once I clicked on the order that priced automatically increased by $1.49. It was listed as a service fee. When I clicked on the service fee it stated that the fee was for "The power that goes into the pizzeria" whatever that means (An energy tax???). With this service fee and tax, the total now came to $21.04. And now I was prompted for a tip! I picked up my order with no issues. The pizza itself was decent but had a very thin crust...the toppings almost fell through the crust. It wasn't anything special and certainly nothing that would bring me back again. I've lived in Anna for five years and I truly want to support local businesses but mystery service fees and stingy food portions is annoying. Just give customers the actual price of a food item. The added service fees are a turn-off and will drive business away. In fairness, other Anna businesses also go the service fee route. This is not an effective business model and is one reason why residents drive to McKinney. The food itself is a solid three. The price and experience is a very low 2. read more

We always have amazing service. My husband always gets the tortellini allá panna but tonight he got a Stromboli. My son always gets spaghetti with meat sauce. Tried the mozzarella sticks for the first time and they were great! I love the chicken Parmesan and the price can't be beat! The rolls were FABULOUS tonight. Tried this place thinking I was about to have a charming Italian bistro experience. What I got instead was a culinary mystery episode titled "What Happened to This Chicken?" It was overcooked to the point of requiring a steak knife, drowned in pepper like someone sneezed while seasoning, and marinated in something so strange I genuinely questioned if it was meant for food or furniture polish. Then came the New York-style pizza... and by "New York-style," I assume they meant "Great Value Digiorno on casual Friday." It looked like it was microwaved straight from the freezer aisle and tasted about as exciting as damp cardboard with tomato paste. The staff was polite, so there's that -- but unless they're hiring a new chef and exorcising the kitchen, I won't be back. Mamma mia, what a let down. read more

We had planned to go out to dinner, We went out to our car and discovered the battery was dead. It was too late to cook, and 100+ degrees outside, so I looked for a place that delivers something other than pizza or sandwiches. To be fair, we've never eaten inside this restaurant, I ordered the Canneloni but it seemed very similar to the lasagna that I ordered for my husband. Both pasta dishes had little to no seasoning and I would have preferred Stouffer's frozen lasagna to what we ate. Roma's is under new management, and although we've always enjoyed their food, there was a marked difference tonight. The atmosphere was noticeably brighter and happier. Diana, our waitress, was attentive, friendly, and delivered excellent service. Roma's sauces have deep flavor, and each dish is thoughtfully composed. We ordered spaghetti and Italian sausage, as well as Chicken Cacciatore. ( I should also mention their warm garlic knots and their varied menu.) Okay here is goes. I was sooo excited to try this place for the past three months, however, my expectations were a bit disappointing. Marinara was pretty good, more on the sweet side. Bread that they serve you was yummy and fresh. The atmosphere was definitely super cozy and welcoming I will say. The staff and server are incredibly sweet, love them. It's just the food wasn't pleasant. I got the chicken parm and well I hate to say it but the chicken was chewy as if it was defrosted in warm water. And we also got the sunrise pasta, shrimp was okay, but again with the chicken. Maybe I can try again soon read more

Super cute and quaint restaurant in Anna. My family and I were greeted by the staff and and seated right away. We're were the only table there at like 5pm on a Wednesday evening. Our waiter was a sweet teenage boy; he did a great job. We ordered the mozzarella sticks, my husband the pasta combo, myself the tortellini alla panna, and our kids the white wonder pizza. We also got the tiramisu for dessert. The pizza was really good; loved the cheese on it. The tortellini dish I got was tasty.... The grilled chicken was a tad more charred than I prefer; but overall the dish was good. My husband had no complaints with his dish. The mozzarella sticks were a tad disappointing only because they were fried in old oil. You could taste that burnt oil taste. The bread they served was yummy and the tiramisu was really great! Whether house made or not; it's a great tiramisu. Price to portion size is actually great; you get hefty portions for sure. The layout of the restaurant is very open; they have plenty of seating and it's overall a cozy place. It's nice to see more restaurants pop up that aren't chains. This restaurant is definitely better than the Red Feather in Melissa and the menu option is better as well. Pricing is better too especially for the portions. This is a nice Italian restaurant. Not sure what to expect my first time there but it had good reviews and thought worth a try. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan and my husband ordered the chicken and shrimp sunrise. The eggplant was thin sliced layered in sauce with cheese on top, had a good flavor and is served with spaghetti. My husband let me taste his chicken and shrimp sunrise and I was impressed. The sauce was nice and smooth with a little spicy kick and enough chicken and shrimp with sun dried tomatoes in penne pasta. Visited for the first time on a Wednesday with our family with two toddlers. We were greeted by lots of staff at the front and taken to the back of the restaurant by the TV. High chairs were available and our three year old just sat in a chair. Wait staff was friendly and amicable. Garlic bread was brought to our table & we also ordered cheesy garlic bread (which was more like and open faced loaf that was toasted and not rolls like the garlic bread). We ordered: - Chicken Frances: nicely breaded, fresh and light lemon flavor on the sauce and linguine noodles were nicely cooked. The chicken was a thin cut and slightly over cooked as it was very chewy. - Chicken Marsala: fantastic sauce with mushrooms. The chicken was not breaded in this dish and it was paired with spaghetti noodles. Decent size and we took half of it home. Again, the chicken was cut very thinly and it was overcooked. Easy to happen with such a thin cut. - kids spaghetti & meatballs: good portion for kids and split between two toddlers. Marinara had a nice flavor and large meatballs. By the time we left, the front portion of the restaurant had amassed about 4 tables full of customers. It's not a fancy establishment by any means, but it's a decent little Italian spot in Anna. I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come here if I didn't live outside of Melissa, Anna and Van Alystne. read more
