Booked an arrival and return pick-up, for a total of 98 British Pounds. Not bad at all for a two way ride! ( A Black Cab will cost over 100 Pounds one-way from the airport) My driver called my cell phone at pre-arranged time, upon landing at Heathrow. He greeted us at the arrival exit, with a placard with my full name on it. The driver was very courteous and helpful with our luggage to the car. Bottles of waters are available in the car. On our return trip to the airport, the assigned driver arrived at the hotel early for pick-up and gave me a call. No stress and no-frills impeccable service! Highly recommended for travelers arriving in London with spouse/family and a lot of luggage! I cant imagine people travelling any other way!

Mick was our driver and he was not only on time, he was 15 minutes early. When the hotel front desk staff wasn't helpful in contacting us to let us know he was there, Mick was patient and persistent and we connected, almost by chance in the lobby as our luggage was being brought down. The luggage was loaded into the trunk of Mick's new Hyundai, an attractive model not found in the US as far as I know. He skillfully and courteously drove us out of London, though traffic and right up to the terminal where the ship was docked. He made excellent time and good conversation as well. The cost was about £125, which seems reasonable for that distance and for the convenience of door-to-door transportation. We would use Smith's again. Alan's only complaint was that the car wasn't a bit larger, because he felt cramped in the back seat.

I went to their web page and filled out the electronic form. Within 30 minutes, I had a quote of 92 pounds- roughly $150.00 each way (300.00 round trip) for all three people and all our luggage. The cruise line on the other hand offered a transfer via bus, with restrictions on the amount and weight of our luggage for 100.00 USD per person each way ($600.00). I booked via email and they answered my emails within minutes. I had a last minute change in pickup location (See my review of the Heathrow Sheraton) and emailed Smith's. It wasn't a problem.... They replied in minutes. They showed up in a almost brand new mini van and were on time. The drivers were polite and dressed professionally. Upon pickup, I again had a last minute change of pickup times.... Easily done via email. I would highly recommend Smith's for transportation needs in and out of Heathrow

I spoke to the driver concerned and we exchanged e-mails confirming the date, time and cost. It was a 4.30 a.m. pick up to catch a flight at 5.35 a.m. Richard at Ansom Cabs failed to arrive. I tried to telephone him and left a message asking him to 'phone me back. At 4.50 a.m. my husband decided that we would have to drive to the airport and we caught our flight by the skin of our teeth. They were just closing the gate! We had no petrol in our car and had the worry of how we would get home all through our holiday. Not the most relaxing way to start a long awaited vacation. My advice is do not rely on him. We have not heard a word from him and we have been home 2 days. Utterly useless!

I can't imagine what happened that morning with these other people, maybe it was personal problems at the time, but still not good when you have a plane to catch.. They're cheap, cheerful and won't have you waiting for long. The only problem is, if the weather is dire, you will have to wait outside for your cab - so come prepared with an umbrella! What I like about Abbey is that not only are they a bargain on short trips, but they'll also travel to such far flung destinations as Bristol and Trowbridge! For a 25 minute journey after midnight it'll cost you just under £30 - the most reasonably priced service in Bath. Like all other taxi firms, they will also pick you up from any given spot but if you're in the city centre, you're much better off waiting at the hut and waiting.

The back sliding door was opened and then I was abandoned to get in on my own, no check that i had fastened my seat belt and I had to close the door myself because the driver was already in their seat. We then went the longer way around to get to the main road. Upon arrival I paid and was once again left to open the door and get out on my own and close it. Not a word of "are you ok?" or "can you manage?" No feeling of being considered as more than something sitting in the back seat. The vibes I got were not friendly.
