This is just my personal opinion/ experience:…read more Hi, I actually grew up in this church and attended for most of my childhood and teenage years so I know the family and the pastor pretty well. They were like family to me once upon a time. I left the church when I was 16 and I'm now almost 23. I'm still a strong Christian/believer but the things I experienced here have unfortunately traumatized me and I carry with me on my day to day. If you go to this church you may notice no one stays longer than a year or two, if you start volunteering/ get close to the pastor's family they expect you to agree with them on everything. You will lose the right to your own opinion and perspectives and I do believe they twist the bible to fit their own agenda. If you disagree with them you might find yourself being called into "meetings" and being talked about on the pulpit. If you are to ask about my comment I guarantee they will say that I was a troubled teenager or am not a real follower of Jesus but that is just not the case. The manipulation and control tactics I experienced had me cut off from all family and friends, and I shamed on a daily basis. Nothing you say to the Pastors family will stay between you and that person. I do believe this church is the definition of what a modern day cult truly is. I know this comment has my name which scares me but I can't be silent and watch as this church still has 5 star reviews because so many who leave are scared to speak up.

The worship is very spiritual. but would be better if they stuck with familiar songs. They will pull out new songs each week and most of the congregation do not know these well enough to really participate in the singing. The worship team is very talented, but they do not seem to grasp that the church would grow more if they used the same songs more than 1 week. Most churches I have attended use familiar songs for at least a month, before going on to new songs. The pastor is very sincere and kind. The Sunday school is outdoors due to limited space. This is the place where the ministry excels. I hope and pray that this family will welcome more Christian involvement and input from those outside their own family. This would lead to growth and improvement. The Holy Spirit is limited with holding such a tight rein.

So you'll know where I am going with this review. A neighbour wanted to go here and check out the church. Great! Friendly, kind people. But when the music started, it was too loud. Over 80 dB. I turned my aids off and turned them into ear plugs and went to the foyer. 70 dB was better than 80 dB. I needed to protect my hearing. I sat in the foyer till the end of the service, until my friend returned. We were inured. The people were super, but the sound level was too uncomfortable. We found it odd that the did not have any flyers or bulletins. Sadly, we will not return. Reposted.
