Absolutely amazing! The rooms are typical of the size you see in Europe. There is also a Spa with a wide array of services (including a nice selection of teas!) The Hirschen lies in the shadow of the town's Burg Museum which has some nice pieces from the last 200 years.
I have to say, though, that my favorite aspect was the food. Delicious just doesn't cover it. The breakfast buffet (6 Euro while I was there) is a tantalizing selection of cheese, meat, cereals (natural whole grain products), yogurts, fruits and juices. The Lunch and Dinner menus were equally enjoyable. (My favorite dessert was the Zwetschgenbavesen, a hot plum and ice cream delight.) They also have a nice microbrewery from which you can select both local and national beers.
The Hirschen is Family run and it shows in every aspect from the front desk service to the individualized care of the wait staff.
If you're driving through Bavaria and would like the traditional feel for an inexpensive price, try out the Hirschen. I'm betting you'll love it. read more
