As i've said before, i always get disappointed when i visit a place that people hype up too much. I've gotten so many recommendations to try the seafood here. It was just ok for us. We didn't have anything bad, but there wasn't anything that wow'd us. We ordered a few dishes to try, they were mostly fried. It all tasted like any other restaurant would cook their fried seafood. Went here for the first time in 6 years - have been here often before. Things have changed, now a closed off terrace-area (sidewalk area) and the prices has been boosted a bit (damn €). Was here with a friend and ordered a racion de pavia (8€), tap beer for friend (2€) and tinto de verano for me (2.25€). The small basket of bread and picos are charged (pan=.50€ picos = .30€) so refuse it if you don't want to pay for it. It was sunny out (si, it's December) so we sat outside and waited for the fish, delivered within 5mins. Small chunks of battered fried fish. So different from americano pescado and no bones! In summer expect to wait for tables as these places are very busy. Today we had NO problema getting a table. Also, the Puerto plaza de Toros is less than 2 miles away - on bullfight days do not only expect long lines for tables after the bullfight ends, but also cars parked everywhere, and anywhere. This is a place famous for marisco (cold cooked shellfish). You find a table, order some very affordable white wine and then go inside an buy various types of shrimp, lobster, prawns, sea snail, percebes..... They wrap them up in paper cones, you open your treasures at the table and go to town. I didn't see anyone eating fried food. Like going to a steakhouse and ordering a burrito. The town itself seems to be a place for tourists... mostly Spanish .... to enjoy. read more

If you want a great seafood lunch or dinner, I highly recommend this restaurant. They have great lobster and fresh seafood. They have to convinient locations, in El Puerto de Santa Maria. read more
