I have been to numerous chiropractors throughout the years, some good, some bad. I can confidently say that Dr. Spallone has hands down been the best. In 2008, after an ongoing hockey related injury escalated to 'severe', I elected to get surgery on my lower back. I had met my deductible due to MRIs, xrays, cortisone shots, doctors appointments etc, so I rushed into a bad decision by electing to get surgery at the end of the year. Shortly thereafter I knew that I had made a mistake, simply because the surgery did not address the underlying issue. It was a short term 'band-aid' fix, and in a relatively short period of time I was right back to where I was at before the surgery. I made my rounds (in San Diego) trying to find a logical path to resolution. After making my way through a number of ineffective/low quality chiropractic practices (some which temporarily made the issue worse) I finally found a place which was excellent and had a logical approach to long term resolution. The name of the place was San Diego Spine & Rehab. The methodology they follow is a 'multidiscipline treatment'; which involves Chiropractic, Decompression, Massage Therapy, and Physical Therapy. This approach was an immediate game changer. The only aspect where this place fell short were the actual chiropractic adjustments, which I did not feel confident in, and ended up opting out of. Fast forward to Q4 2014... I moved to Denver, did a lot of awkward furniture lifting and extended U-Haul sitting in a one shot drive from San Diego to Denver. My back blew up on me a couple weeks after arrival. Rinse and repeat; I made my rounds through Denver, trying to find a 'multidiscipline treatment' shop. I had the same experience as before in the sense that I had to make my way through some ineffective/counter-intuitive/low-quality shops before I found Dr. Spallone's practice. He followed the same 'multidiscipline treatment' holistic methodology which I describe above, but he undoubtedly took it to the next level. He thought about and considered far more factors which were contributing to my back injury than others had done. For example, he didn't just focus on my lower back 'problem area', he was cognizant of the condition of my full spine, and started working my neck. I didn't even know that my neck had issues. Something else which he noticed, which others had not, was that the curvature of my spine was compromised and needed to be addressed. This was game changer version 2.0... I was immediately confident in and happy with his chiropractic adjustments. Once he works on you it is evident and obvious that he has years of experience working on pro-level athletes. He set me up with some DIY@home decompression / curvature promotion exercises and I can safely say after a 6 month program with him that my back has been unbelievably better. Easily the best it has been in over a decade. I've been able to do things which before would leave me out of commission for days or weeks. I've recommended Dr. Spallone to a number of friends, colleagues, and family members. After they receive some treatment they always walk away with the same impression that I have. read more

My husband had what we thought, was an overworked back. When the pain became intollerable, and he could hardly walk, we made an appt. to see Dr. Spallone, had never been before, and had heard about his alternative way of healing. We learned my husband had two bulging discs. It was serious. Within the first few treatments, my husband began to get some relief from the pain, had more mobility and was able to return to work (that was the most important part). Dr. Spallone's alternative healing is amazing. He is passionate about restoring health, and maintaining a healthy body. We still have a long way to go, but we have been able to do this all without surgery or medication. My husband gets better with each treatment. This is a continuation of reviews about Doc Ron. This year, he instituted two key pieces to concussion protocols. As an adventure traveler, I've had some ten concussions over the last eight years, and am experiencing all the pre-CTE symptoms you'd expect from compulsive anger, to tears, to suicidal thoughts. As someone who continuously stays on the very leading edge of neuroscience on this topic, Ron brought in both neurofeedback, a computer program shown to help with PTSD and concussion symptoms and later in the year, oxygen therapy, both of which I have availed myself of this year. He's got a great staff of committed people who are as focused as he is on your health and it makes for a nurturing environment. There's a reason Ron Spallone is one of the country's best sports chiropractors. I can count on him for nutritional advice, the very best in structural care, and now, critically important care for post concussive syndrome. He's not just a doc for athletes. I have been going to Dr. Spallone for about a decade. His examinations are thorough which leads to a treatment plan which I have found to be very helpful with the alleviation of pain. This guy is a total joke. Tried to charge me over $4000 for a series of treatments over 4 months. When I wanted to just do 1 month to see if it worked he made a comment about me "living pay check to pay check". What an arrogant prick. He made me feel like if I didn't sign up for every service he provided I would eventually be in a wheelchair. Part of my treatment was PT which my first week was performed by an awesome PT - then the PT quit - literally told me he couldn't work for Spallone anymore because he was such an A-hole. So after that, Spallone was doing my PT which was clear he had no idea what he was doing. The 30 minute PT lasted about 10 minutes. He tried to show me exercises from the Foundation (told me these exercises were developed by a "friend" of his) which is a total joke. I was very familiar with the Foundation (have the books and the video series) and he was totally doing it incorrectly. Maybe his "friend" didn't teach him properly. After a month of going there 3 hours/week I had absolutely zero improvement in my condition. His staff walks around like they are afraid of him, like he's some sort of god or something. This place is so strange with all his pictures of him doing chiropractic on John Elway before a golf tournament and smiling with Joe Montana - give me a break. I have been whining to my doctors for more than 5 years, and you are the first one Listen seriously enough and take X-rays to figure out what was really wrong. Since I have been using my orthotics, the discomfort is nearly completely gone. I still experience some difficulties if I walk too long on pavement, but the discomfort is minimal compared to what it was. read more

Where to begin. Mr. Spallone takes pride in having worked on several professional athletes and has loads of memorabilia strewn around the office. I threw my back out at work as due to a previous injury. After looking for a new chiropractor I felt he'd be a good fit because he had all the high tech equipment that could possibly work to help get me relief, as I usually have to visit the chiropractor every few months. They did an x-ray and developed a plan that should help my back. All in total for 8 weeks of chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, nerve shots in my back and materials to use at home the grand total was just shy of $5000. We opted to pay as we go because even though that is less expensive than surgery, we wanted to be sure that it was helping. The breakdown of the cost was $50 for an adjustment, $40 for physical therapy, the shots we opted out for due to medical history but would have been $180 a piece. The first adjustments were about 15-20 minutes a piece, which made sense because you don't want to start off handling an injury like mine all out at the beginning, you wanna ease into things. I asked him if my adjustments and physical therapy would increase over time and he said "yes of course." Three weeks into everything nothing changed. I was still going in 3 to 4 times a week and getting the same result. Their idea of physical therapy for me was to use this device called a "wobble chair" for 10 minutes on my own doing the same 2 exercises.... Keep in mind that this 10 minutes of independent PT was costing me $40 each time... I got fed up and stopped doing treatment because what I was getting wasn't worth the cost. After quitting treatment I was called asking why I hadn't been scheduling appointments anymore and I told them that I didn't feel that the treatment I was getting wasn't satisfactory and enough to foot the bill to which I got the response "I'm sorry to hear that" Like really? That's it? After that they proceeded to send us a bill for $200 some odd dollars for no apparent reason at all. My late mother determined that it wasn't worth fighting with them or the insurance company over and that we just wanted to be done with it all. Yesterday we received another bill for $465 for what they called "medical equipment." I will be contacting them shortly hoping they fix the problem. My suggestion is to not lead into the hype and either not go with this particular office or do yourself a favor and do what I did, get a teeter hang ups inversion table. I get the same amount if not more relief from my inversion table and it only cost $300 plus I can use it everyday in my own home for however long I choose. Steer clear from these scam artists who use someone who is just in need of some relief so they can live out their daily life and who will do anything they can to take every penny possible from your pocket to put it into their own. read more
