I thought he was a mediocre doctor for having great reviews. It takes forever to get anyone to answer the phone and once they do, they will put you on hold for over 30 min. I went in for a regular well woman exam and afterward the doctor tells me that he is changing the business model of his office to some type of concierge and I'd have to pay an additional $3500 plus monthly for insurance. I didn't feel that he would be the right fit since he said he was going to be more like a primary doctor specializing in women's health. Not sure if he is what everyone is saying...he didn't listen when he asked where I he should send my RX...went to a totally different location than aCostco. then my blood work panel should have included A1c and come to find out it didn't. The worst thing was when I asked about my results for blood work and if I should be concerned, he said he already texted with the results. I said yes I got that but I wanted to know more but he just shrugged and said it's all in the text. Ok, so much for caring if I had specific questions. So after not feelin all that great that I would have to find another doctor in a few months when he becomes a primary which I didn't feel good about paying so much, I tried to cancel my appointment and couldn't get through. THE WORST RECEPTIONISTS!!!! On top of also having the worst communication services, the area on website where you're supposed to be able to ask questions and contacts does not work. Dr. Woodard is a gem! I spent a good majority of time saying I'd never go to a male obgyn until he found my mom's uterine cancer at stage one. Her oncologist said her doctor is incredible to be so meticulous to find it this early. I immediately switched doctors and am so happy with my choice! He's so calm, patient and thorough! My baby girl is 3 months old and I am finally getting around to leaving this long overdue review. I don't say this lightly: Dr. Woodard is the best doctor I've ever had and my husband and I feel fortunate to have been under his care for nine months during my pregnancy. I never thought I would miss having doctor's visits but I miss my routine pregnancy checkups because Dr. Woodard's entire team is so welcoming and affectionate, they made our visits fun. We love Stella, Alma, and everyone in this office. They have a way of easing your nerves and pregnancy jitters/fears and helping the 9 months go by smoothly. Aside from Dr. Woodard and his team being so great, the office is also conveniently located with free street and lot parking, a pharmacy in the building, and a lab down the hall for blood draws so you don't have to go wait in long lines at a Quest. You'll also get text reminders for your appointments, which are helpful when "pregnancy brain" is in full effect. read more

I have been meaning to write this review for... 5 months now (my son is 5 months tomorrow) but have been lost in new baby land. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Woodard as well as his nurse Stella. I had a difficult pregnancy, with constant nausea and vomit, but I always looked forward to every single one of my appointments. I felt supported, respected, listened to, and honestly, we had fun every time we were there. Dr Woodard is an amazing doctor, and I have referred him to every woman I know who's looking to get pregnant (my sister included.) In between appointments if I had any concerns or questions, Stella was amazing at always getting back to me, and putting me at ease. Even the staff at the front desk are amazing, and I genuinely miss all of them. I genuinely look forward to returning for future OB needs! How often can you say that?! I can't say enough good things about Dr. Woodard and Claudia! After years of dealing with disappointing gynos who not only made mistakes that cost me one of my ovaries, and kept telling me that the probability of my pregnancy is extremely low, I finally met Dr. Woodard who was so calm and reassuring that I could not help but trust his judgement. 3 years in I got pregnant naturally and as usual Dr. Woodard and Claudia provided the best care for me and my little peanut! Some of the things that I love about Dr. Woodard: - he's absolutely sweet and calm which makes you feel relaxed and in good care - he is extremely knowledgeable and keeps up with new studies - he is very straight forward yet supporting of his patients' decisions - he actually hears your concerns and tries to help you cope anyway he can (I learned that I was pregnant very early so there was no heartbeat present when I went in, despite the holidays Dr. Woodard allowed me to go in 5 times in a week untill we finally had a heartbeat) - my delivery was perfectly smooth and he came in to check in on me multiple times during my stay as I had a c-section read more

My daughter called the office the day before to ask if she could be a support person in the room while she gets her ultrasound. The staff proceeded to tell her that the support person can come but would need to wait outside until my daughter has a room then her support person can come in. Once we arrive we, we are told by the staff that she was misinformed that only spouses or partners are allowed in. I proceeded to ask for the HIPAA number to file a complaint and the staff ordered me to wait outside until they can give me the number. mind you there was only 2 other people in the large waiting area. I said I can stand here and wait for the number and they proceeded to tell me to wait outside in order for them to comply with my request. They claimed their office policy is only spouses or partners allowed in the appointment. If you're a single mother, I feel for you. These are discriminating practices and the staff and doctor should feel embarrassed by this so-called policy. Every woman has a right to have a support person in the room with them. read more

I miss Dr. Woodard, Julie, and Claudia! This is a great office with great staff. Dr. Woodard delivered my first daughter in March of 2006 and it was such a memorable experience. Even though I ended up with an emergency c-section, I have nothing but fond memories of my pregnancy, my prenatal care, and delivery do to Dr. Woodard's wonderful bedside manner. He is just all around an amazing Dr. and person. I regret moving to the Inland Empire prior to my second pregnancy because it would have been an honor to go to Dr. Woodard's office and have him deliver my second. I wish I could still go to his OB office, but I live to far away and we now have Kaiser insurance. It's a total bummer for me, but I hope this review helps someone who may be considering Dr. Woodard. I have taken off work and driven to the office 2 times in the past 2 weeks, and have not been able to see the doctor. The first time, the doctor was in surgery and the office stated they called me in the morning. They did not. The second time, they had neglected to add me on the schedule for the appt time they rescheduled me for. I was having issues and really needed to see the doctor. I have several friends in this practice who have had similar experiences. A couple of them have already found new doctors, which I am doing as well. I have been in this practice since before my son was born, over 20 years ago, (with another doctor in the practice) -the past few years they have really gone downhill and become increasingly scattered, unorganized and disinterested in their patients. This was all upon the first time he met me without knowing any of my experiences or medical history, yet he felt compelled to advise me on things that were tainted with his opinion on me and my life choices. I HIGHLY recommend this office! I read a lot of reviews and did quite a bit of research before settling on a doctor when I found out I was pregnant, and I definitely made the right choice with Dr. Woodard and his staff. From the beginning, I have had kind of a tough pregnancy, with a new problem or possible issue popping up nearly every check up. Dr. Woodard was always up front with me about everything, never sugar coating it but always maintaining a wonderful, calm, knowledgeable bedside manner. As things have progressed (and baby is now doing great! Two months to go!), they worked with me through it all, always there to answer questions or concerns and delivering top notch care. Claudia is just wonderful, as other reviewers have said. In fact, everyone in the office was a joy to work with. They all knew my name and gave me personalized treatment each and every time I was there. I've since relocated and had to leave this great group, and I will miss them terribly! read more

I used to see Dr Mutch but he retired. However, the office has become a nightmare!! I've been coming here for the last 15 years and it is impossible to speak to your nurse or even leave a message unless you're pregnant. Otherwise, you must speak to a triage nurse and even after speaking with her, they won't allow you to speak to or leave a message for Claudia unless you're pregnant. This is ridiculous. I had found him on the healthgrades website and saw back then (probably even more so now) he had 25 100% votes, and then read his 5 star reviews on yelp. He and Claudia deserve the perfect reviews. He's an amazing surgeon, she's an amazing nurse. They are always available, always go out of their way to help. They provided and continue to provide me with excellent medical care. You take one step into the office and you think a) competence, b) trust, c) they look more like soap opera stars--you know, like from General Hospital... :-) Staff is really kind and competent; never had a problem with billing before. So far, i've only seen Dr. Woodard for one annual check-up, and now for my 2nd pregnancy. But overall, i am so relieved to have found a good ob/gyn! i was hesitant at first since he's a guy (i preferred a female), but after my horrendous experience with my previous dr. for my 1st pregnancy (who was a female), i just wanted a GOOD dr. anyhow, i referred my a family friend to him, and she went through her entire pregnancy check-ups with him and loved him. His nurse, Claudia, is DA BOMB! She's so caring and down-to-earth. The whole staff is excellent. i have yet 7 more months to go, so for now, i give him 4 stars. He's so gentle, waits to hear ALL your questions, actually dialogues with you, and calms you down. If you're looking for a good ob/gyn in the la canada area, i totally recommend him. i'm hoping to give him 5 stars after my delivery....we shall see. read more

Awful, awful, awful experience with this office. I only went once in the beginning of my pregnancy since I was choosing doctor but their office kept sending me bills till end of my pregnancy. The doctor was late 45 minutes and in the visit he kept pushing for unnecessary tests. He convinced us to do 2 of them! I took the tests and the test result was supposed to go to their office since he assigned the test. Since I chose another doctor, I didn't go to him anymore but Oh GOD, I called so many times to be able to get an answer for my results. I asked for a copy to be sent to me and they said they will charge for it! How hard is it to make a copy of a document and mailing it out? They had no problem sending me bill after bill!! I would not recommend this office at all! read more

Oh my goodness. I LOVE Dr. Woodard and his staff. They are an A+ office. When you call for an appointment, you don't have to wait forever to get an appointment. When you call to speak to a nurse, they either speak to you right at that second, or they call you back by the end of the day. He takes his time with you, answers all of you questions, and addresses all of your concerns. He has delivered by two children and I wouldn't go with ANY other OB/GYN. Dr. Woodard is a wonderful OBGYN and a kind person, I wish I could turn back time and had him as my doctor for my first pregnancy, but I'm relieved that I finally found an OBGYN that I trust and like. This is the first OBGYN where everything went smoothly as possible. For check ups, I thought pain and discomfort was just a natural part of the process, but with Woodard all my check ups have been surprisingly comfortable. The birth of my second child was also more calm. My first OBGYN wanted to put me in stir-ups, laying flat on my back, and I hated it. When I was delivering my second child, a nurse asked Dr. Woodard if she should put stir-ups on and said he does not like stir-ups, they make it more difficult - which I agree. So I didn't have stir-ups and my delivery was less cumbersome and more comfortable! As long as I'm in LA, Dr. Woodard is going to be my go to doctor! read more
