The exact verbiage from the contract is, "The Contractor is not liable for damage to hidden water, electrical, gas, and/or HVAC lines." However, in the photo sent of the damage, the HVAC line is clearly visible. When we pointed out that the line was clearly visible, they claimed they were still not responsible and would cover just $250 of the $2133, but only if we removed the 1-star Google review we had just left. After several attempts to get in touch with the contact on the contract and the business owner, we got no response.

Since the new build, water from that property now FLOODS our property like a river every time it rains washing away landscaping, displacing landscape timbers, mulch, plantings, washing cubic yards of sand and dirt from the builds landscaping onto our grass, causing ponds of standing water and potential deterioration to our fence. This concern has been addressed with the builder on multiple occasions from the beginning of construction, until he sold the property, and even now. Mr. Steel assured us that he would correct the drainage issues and kept reassuring us that it would be taken care of. However, instead of correcting the issues I feel he has dragged this along until he sold the property. There are several open complaints with the City of North Charleston Public Works and Code Enforcement and have overlapped the sale of the house. The city has a drainage plan that was not followed by the builder and is directing excessive amounts of stormwater onto the adjacent property. This information is known to the builder, but was not told to the realtor and subsequently the buyer of the property. Additionally, the builder had trees on the property that were overgrown and damaged the roof of the adjacent property causing damage. These were not addressed until roughly 1-2 weeks prior to property being sold. The builder claims to be experienced and of the highest quality, so why is it that properly providing drainage was not done? In my opinion, the most likely answer is that they intentionally decided to drain the water to our property because it was the quickest and cheapest way to resolve their drainage issue. In summary, it is my opinion that this builder has knowingly channeled water onto our property and it is my hope that they will do the responsible thing and correct the drainage issues. Until this is resolved, I can not in good conscience recommend this company.

The roof still looks great, even after Hurricane Matthew. We will certainly be reaching out to them for more exterior work to be done on our home.

We were told the sub contractor that installed the Hardi Plank on our house no longer works for the company because of complaints. Where does that leave us? We purchased the more expensive Hardi Plank with the color baked in so it will never need to be painted and yet putty was placed over nail holes that will have to be painted. Most of the planks have bowed or are wavy. Window screens were torn during installation by sub contractor and still have not been replaced. Sub Contractor left a mess after his job was completed and I had to clean up the mess. We waited a long time to have exterior doors installed and we're still waiting to have them painted. I would not use this company again.

When I wanted to add a couple of solar tubes prior to starting the project, Matt met with me to confirm the size and location of the tubes and was able to quickly provide a revised estimate. Materials were delivered in advance of the project securely and timely. When the weather presented an opportunity to complete the job, the work was scheduled. The Crosstown crew arrived timely in the am and quickly began preparation to protect my property and landscaping during the demolition process. The crew was very amiable and courteous... it was evident they enjoyed working together. When it became clear that the job would continue the following day, the crew protected and cleaned the job site. The crew returned on time again the following morning and finished the job. The worksite was left clean. The only way I knew they were there was the beautiful new roof and glowing solar tubes they had skillfully installed.
