They were into the job in minutes pulling out a number of tiles. Dave knew exactly what he was doing though and the problem was identified as leadwork round the soil pipe. As the soil pipe was not connected to anything, they removed it and the lead, put in a section of lathe to replace a rotting area and fetched in a new tile to fill the gap. We watched in wonder and were able to see photos of the problem area on photos from his mobile phone. Fast, efiicient and a good price. Look no further for your roofer.

They quoted £160 which was fine and they came out on the agreed date to put down a new felt lining. Within a week water had started leaking through our light fixtures so we phoned them up to ask them to come and have a look at their work under their '5 year guarantee'. After passing me off to his mate Mark because he was 'away', we had them booked to come back a few days later. They no showed. My partner waited in most of the day for them; a complete waste of time it would seem. I phoned several times, left texts and voicemails but they have not responded to any of my communications. This is a classic BBC watchdog style scam. After googling Mason's roofworks I have found other similar stories on trader websites in which exactly the same shoddy work seems to be accompanied by no guarantee and no communications. Avoid at all costs. Off to trading standards.
