After months of searching my friend and I decided to splurge on Roomers Munich. The cost per night is more than the other hotels in the area but we understood we would be paying for some luxury and for the location being so close to the Oktoberfest Festival. Imagine our dismay when we arrived, after fifteen (15) hours of flying, to find that the hotel was overbooked. I've been to hotels in sixteen (16) countries around the world and never experienced that before. We were moved to the Marriott City West, which was described as just down the street but it was actually a little bit of a distance on foot. The disruption in accommodations cascaded problems onto our week's itinerary just off of the additional distance. Marriott City West was a new hotel but it wasn't what we envisioned for the trip. A manager [?] Christian Abate offered concessions to the couple before us, who were also displaced for overbooking. Those Concessions were not offered to us. He gave us his card and said we could call him in the morning to see if the room we reserved and pre-paid for would be ready. The next day we call both numbers on the card and sent WhatsApp message, none of which were ever responded to. We then called the hotel directly but it seemed they weren't expecting us to call back because our situation was then given to a new manager. In addition, Mariott Munich City West was told we were staying for the rest of our trip which we had not agreed to. In my estimation managment failed to properly hand off our issues. In any case, The morning manager Mark and Receptionist Christina (under high pressure and busy circumstances) were able to expedite our re-check into Roomers the next day. We were very appreciative of their efforts but in the end the overall experience was still completely overshadowed by how our trip began in Munich... with a bad initial hotel experience. So although the next day's staff did everything they could and it seems like the mistakes were not their fault, and although the rooms, luxury amenities and distance to the Theresenwiese (Oktoberfest) are enticing, I still recommend that you skip Roomers altogether. read more

The best hotel we stayed at in Europe. The room was modern, stylish, and clean. Service was friendly and they upgraded us due to our status and offered us a drink at check-in. The spa was included with the hotel reservation. It was pretty relaxing with a nice pool with a movie playing in the background, comfy lounge chairs, and a sauna. It's also close to the train and walkable to some amazing restaurants. read more

This hotel has both positives and negatives, I think it is quite average overall. Positive: - Price, I booked this quite last minute and it was reasonably priced for a weekend stay. - Stylish for a Mariott hotel and rooms were clean. - Free candies at the reception. - There is a tram stop in front of the hotel. Negative: - The AC in the room didn't work - The bathroom is really dark (by design). I had to do my makeup in the bedroom and my friends who stayed in a different type of room had the same experience. - Service at reception was poor. Receptionist charged the wrong card (despite me asking and her acknowledging my request). When it happened she refused to correct it. - The property is relatively far from the city centre. Overall - not too bad considering the price but I'll certainly consider other options when staying in Munich next. read more

Stayed here while in Munich for the Seahawks-Bucs game and was sadly disappointed. The worst service I have experienced in Germany. It was my wife's birthday and I wanted to surprise her with a nice meal and birthday cake delivered to our room. Waited over 3 hours and no one showed. Called and went downstairs multiple times to check in on the progress and was constantly told that it was on its way. So unprofessional. The only good thing of this property are the beds that were very comfy. A definite pass next time I'm in Munich. read more

Stayed two nights on the sixth floor (top floor) in a room with a king bed and balcony overlooking the train yard. Bed was very comfortable, room was blissfully quiet: zero noise from the street, the trains, or other hotel guests. Staff was professional and polite. The underground pool and spa were awesome, and the people who work in the spa were really professional and welcoming. Location was great, there is a tram line that gets you to all the tourist stuff very quickly, and the neighborhood itself is nice and quiet with a few good restaurants and cafes. Rain shower in room was great and did not leak. Had fancy soaps from Grown Alchemist brand. One of the best hotels I've stayed at in a long time. read more

Comfortable and very clean and modern. The price already high is doubled- tripled during Oktober Fest (around 400€ a night). Chamber 124 is a bit small for the price. Quiet, with the exception with the air conditional when it starts in the middle of the night. Be carefull, the breakfast costs 32 euros! Found a great last minute deal for travel package with a third party site which includes flight and a 4 night stay with this acclaimed "5 star hotel." Overall, the hotel serves its purpose but I did not spend a lot of time in it. At check in, was greeted with a welcome drink and there is a candy bar available. Pros: - located right across from the trams which was awesome because this was the only transport I used. Tram 19 took me to where I needed to go to meet my daily tours and also stops at the Mariannenplatz! - clean room - very quiet and advertised as soundproof walls - shampoo and soap with a pleasant scent - had a problem with the showers on one of the days and maintenance responded promptly and fixed the issue - awesome breakfast buffet and service - gym/exercise room available until midnight Mixed feelings: - lighting took a while to learn how to operate. Though it was great to be able to adjust the intensity of the lighting. - huge tub if you enjoy baths but this just took up space - no dress cabinets or actual closet - extremely firm bed (which I agree with the below reviewer) but I did not mind and was able to enjoy a rested night's sleep - limited in room service dining menu Would I stay here again? This is a nice hotel with a few odd touches. The motif or theme is certainly like nothing I've seen before that wasn't in an art gallery. A few people (not me) may be offended by a few design elements. You'll know what I mean when you see it. That said, it is a good hotel and a Marriott property that is full-service. The bar is also fine, and the attached/associated restaurant was very good for both breakfast and I heard from my associates that dinner was really fantastic there. Though anecdotal I'm still sharing the info. Anyway, I could maybe go 5 stars, if not for the thematic oddities, the dark hallways, and the location is not what I'd call the best. The hotel is just fine. The location is good, but not really walking distance to old town (if shopping is your thing). The whole hotel is really dark. That really bothered me. I couldn't even see when putting on makeup on the bathroom. The hotel seems to be going for the "super sexy look", but they compromised a lot of function for this. I think they made a bad decision. My husband and I were each traveling with only a carry-on suitcase and a backpack and we didn't have enough closet space to put our things. There are no hooks for the robes or towels in the bathroom. The shower got the entire floor wet bc it's not sealed properly around the perimeter of the door. The hotel breakfast was just okay. I ordered a last night Wiener schnitzel from the bar one night and it was awful. The hotel was clean though. The spa was always booked even though we were staying at the hotel we could t get an appointment for 3 days. The spa pool was also really weird. It's in the basement and there are only like 8 booths to relax on, so if you do t get there in time, there aren't any chaises or even chairs for you to sit on. They also play the Sex and the City movie on repeat on the big screen down there. Very weird. read more

One night stay at Roomers. Check in was easy and we were offered sparkling wine, beer, vodka shots, or mineral water. Room wasn't ready but they gladly stored our bags. First room on 4th floor had a balcony and was a lovely deluxe room. Bed was super comfortable but due to neighbors screaming and playing their music so loud that our walls were vibrating we switched rooms. The hotel was quite accommodating but informed us that since quiet hours don't start until 10PM they can't do anything about the noise despite front desk attendant coming to 4th floor and personally commenting on the degree of the noise. Our next room was on 2nd floor and did not have a balcony but was quiet and served it's purpose of allowing sleep. We did not eat at the restaurant. We stayed on Marriott points so I cannot comment on nightly price. Great area. Close to train station, tram lines directly across from the street and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. read more

We were very excited about this hotel from what we saw in the picture when we booked our stay for the special occasion. However, don't be swayed by the The Ultra-Modern clean lines & well designed look of this Hotel does not make it comfortable. The form is nice but the function of the hotel, which should Always be about the comfort of the guests, is not the priority for this hotel. Being able to get a good night of sleep is the most important thing about a hotel for me. While I have noticed that most beds in European hotels are on the firm side, this Hotel's bed was very firm. I would equate it to sleeping on a board. My husband has been a Marriott Platinum member for a very long time & we had hoped the hotel would be willing to work with us even though we had prepaid the room. They insisted on putting pillow toppers on the mattress & we will be trying that tonight, however we are very sure that it will still be too firm as this is a band aid solution. We asked if we could checkout early & reduce the duration of our stay, but they were unwilling to work with us as we had prepaid for a "Special rate". Normally this would get you your room at a better value, however we checked on booking the room & we would have had a less expensive rate had we not prepaid & booked it online right now. I tried to point this out to them to see about waiving the 50% cancellation fee if we left early, but again they were unwilling to work with us. Traveling in a foreign country can be quite exhausting & we had been traveling for business for a while already. This portion of our trip was to be for the vacation part of the trip & we are very tired by this point. I had hoped for some sound nights of sleep, but I don't think we will be doing much sleeping. We will most likely be doing lots of tossing & turning, trying to get comfortable. We will not be staying at this hotel again, nor will we ever prepay a European Marriott property on our trips from here on out. read more

Cramped room, no view because window is blocked by bed and headboard, makes room dark and claustrophobic. Closet for hanging clothes, but no storage for other clothing, you'll be living out of your suit cases. The bed/pillows were comfortable, internet speed was good. This was the most overpriced hotel for the experience that I have ever encountered. We were shocked at how small and dark our 400E/night room was, the lack of closet or storage space, the bathroom in a literal black closet and the adjoining shower also in a black closet. I tripped on the throw rug only to discover the unfinished plywood floor. Supposedly a hip hotel, the overwhelming dark corridors and lack of art were oppressing. The elevators never seemed to be available. The hotel lobby was cramped and the adjacent bar area seemed closed whenever you wanted a cup of coffee or drink. Usually breakfast is included at hotels in Europe -this was a 32E addition. We checked our luggage for a couple hours and it took them 45 minutes to find. The entry/valet was way too small and dangerous. read more

Hands down the worst place I have ever stayed. It is really a zero star. We are here for 3 nights as part of a tour and cruise package, so there was no choice in the matter. I have been in 3 different rooms; being moved due to issues from room not clean or no electric light in an all black bathroom. The bathroom door of the third room sticks and is so difficult to open / close I prop it open with a trash can so I don't have to body slam the door to get out. Just got back to my room after touring Munich and the trash can was moved and door shut. I am literally now waiting for the hotel to send a repair man so I can get into the bathroom as I can't get it back open. The bed is hard as a rock. The rooms are exceptionally small and do not have closets The bathroom is all black tile and has little lighting. It is difficult to see to put on make up. You must use your extra towels to mop the bathroom floor since the shower is not well constructed and leaks all over. You will have fun trying to find the hidden electrical outlets inside an all black cubby - I used my travel flashlight to find it. The art is very strange - half dog half human ceramic statue and a pig wearing gold booties are creepy- weird. The art work on the walls is frightening - took them down so I wouldn't have to look at angry women smoking cigarettes or making faces. The halls are covered in black wall covering and are dimly lit. It is honestly difficult to see. I am counting my blessings that I don't have to deal with a larger than life size pink flamingo on my balcony like the room next door. Oh, if you like gazing on life size plastic alligators and red giraffes in a hotel lobby you'll love this place. Most of the staff is nice, really good at apologizing! Still trying to understand why Uniworld would subject us to this place. read more
