Rory Gallagher is one of the forgotten heroes of Irish, indeed world, rock history. First with Taste and then on his own, he was a seriously cool dude. What people don't always realise, however, is that there is a memorial to him here in Dublin (even if his real home was down rebel county way). A bronze model of his guitar is tucked in beside Meeting House Square, unveiled by none other then the Edge himself a few years ago. Having spearheaded the Irish rock movement, sure it's only fitting that he gets his own corner of Dublin named after himself.
