Bartenders are excellent and service is exceptionally friendly - ask/look for Danny. Rosa has a unique selection of margaritas, crafted cocktails and tequila. Food has always been great - feels like the flavors are fresh, food is cooked from scratch, plus quality is exceptional. So I have been hearing about this place for a little while now after a friend of mines came in for drinks (but did not eat food) so I said I'll try something & see how it is. I've been only trying places that make burgers because im doing a burger tour in Philly and so far this place was the worst place I've tried. What I thought would have been a classic burger came out to be smashed, overcooked & not what I asked for at all. 2/10 do not recommend if your looking for a good bite to eat. read more

Great food, amazing staff! Guacamole made table side was delicious. The selection of Mexican was traditional but also had many unique dishes that are not common at other Mexican restaurants. Last night we were looking for good Mexican food in the Ardmore area on a Friday night without having reservations. We found a Great one. When we showed up, the restaurant was full but the host told us we could sit at the round tops in the bar area. The classic margaritas on the rocks were delicious, so was the hand guacamole made at our table. We didn't explore the menu too much we had the carnitas and chicken tacos both absolutely delicious. Very mixed experience. Will not be going back there again. Inside was very noisy with some kind of annoying background buzz apparently coming from some machine at the bar. The food was mixed. The chopped salad was not as described in the menu but was basically just a large Caesar salad. The chicken in the chicken mole was too tough to cut. The drinks we had were so-so.... terrible Margarita, and Lemonade. The key lime pie has hot peppers in it, a bizarre feature we were not warned about. It was my daughter's birthday so she chose the restaurant Rosa Mexicano. There were six of us, including two children. My wife ordered chicken enchiladas. My son-in-law had a steak and chicken fajita. My daughter ordered fish tacos. The kids had cheese quesadillas and French fries. I ordered the seafood empanadas. Our server was a pleasant young lady named Madison who kept calling me "sweetheart". I didn't mind, but I'm not sure my wife was too pleased. She was very friendly and polite. When I gave her my order, she said enthusiastically, I quote. "Oh an excellent choice". The seafood empanadas were an appetizer, but that was all I wanted for my meal. The $22 empanadas were a big disappointment. I was served three small empanadas stuffed with what was supposed to be lobster, shrimp and crab meat. I estimate the size was about 4 1/2 ounces total. Although they had a fishy smell, I could not taste any lobster shrimp or crab meat. The stuffing looked like and had the consistency of ricotta cheese and no apparent meat. The taste was so bland I could not identify what was actually in the empanada. They have almost no taste at all. I shared the empanadas with other members of my party and they had the same opinion. During our meal, our server passed the table and asked if everything was OK but never stopped long enough for me to respond to her. Later, I was able to get her attention and I told her how disappointing the empanadas were and she said to me "I've had them myself and I didn't care for them. They were very bland." I was surprised to hear this after hearing her enthusiastic response to my order. " Excellent choice!" Apparently not! Still, she was very polite and offered to remove the appetizer from the check. I said that wasn't necessary, but she insisted. When she did bring the check, she told me she talked with the chef and explained my comments. She said the menu comes from corporate and they don't have any control over the ingredients as a product comes in premade. She went on to say they get a lot of complaints about that appetizer. My wife did not enjoy her chicken enchiladas, but she is too polite to complain. I on the other hand like to share my honest opinion of food when it's excellent I'm happy to compliment, when it's disappointing. I think everyone needs to know especially the restaurant. After seeing the size of the fish tacos, I thought to myself "glad I did not order them. My son-in-law seemed to enjoy his fajitas, i want the restaurant to succeed, but in my opinion, they're gonna have to make some improvements. read more

Visited Rosa Mexicano in Suburban Square for dinner tonight. The ambience here is top tier with beautiful, unique vibes in each room, plus a colorful outdoor seating area. The drinks were a 10/10 and very strong. Service was also great. Our server was kind, quick, and attentive. Now for the food... I loved that the chips and salsa were complimentary. I'm not a gauc fan, but it was a cool experience to see it being made fresh table-side for other diners. The nachos I ordered as an app needed a little improvement. There were tons of toppings on them, but very few chips; they could be balanced a bit more. The quesabirria tacos were satisfactory in taste, but they were a little small, and the cheese was kind of charred rather than melty how I prefer. I didn't capture a pic of the burger, but it was pretty average and served with waffle fries. I'd like to see it elevated a bit. Overall, it was a good dining experience with some room for improvement. Definitely check it out, and if you're looking for something fun to do, they have salsa dancing on Thursday nights which is a nice way to end a dinner date night. read more

It's a constant disappointment... we came for lunch but I have been here for dinner and happy hours and it is always a disappointment. Food is just not there... guacamole had big thick pieces of cilantro it felt I was chewing grass, no salt and too hot with the jalapeño.. just gross. Every order was wrong and lacked freshness taste and across way too spicy with an overpowering taste of jalapeño. That made each dish taste the same. After pointing out this flaw in the bill to our waitress , she said "I don't understand how this happened " I advised her that was called a cash register! Long delays followed the disappearing waitress trick , she Finally sent the manager over and I confided to her that the chicken Was both overpriced and overcooked ---the waitress must still be working in another joint As she know nothing about what was going on here. We were anxious to try this restaurant because we love Mexican food, but this experience was a disappointment on many levels. The food was sub par, and way overpriced. It was "Margarita Monday" - $5.00 Margaritas all day according to their website, but when the check came, we were charged full price for our drinks. When we pointed this out to our server, he went to his manager, who told us she'd taken two of the five drinks off our bill, when in fact, she had only taken one off. I have been a few times to this restaurant. The food is very overpriced and average at best. I have experienced average to awful service each time. Last time I went, the staff was extremely neglectful and forgot about our table. We also had a coupon and were told we had to order full entrees if we wanted to use the coupon. From the menus we received to the state of the bar, to the messiness all around the restaurant and the bathroom, it was unacceptable. First we sat at the bar waiting for our reservation in the dining area. Ordered a Basil Heyden Bourbon, but no go! Ordered a Jeffersons bourbon but no go! Then asked for any bourbon but , you guessed it no go! Then decided to leave the bar and wait for our table. Got seated and ordered tableside guacamole. It tasted bland made without salt or lime. My wife ordered Tacos and was told , you guessed it, no ground beef! So they made it with chopped steak. I ordered chili relinos. We were very excited to try this new Mexican Restaurant but sadly we were disappointed. We were seated immediately. We were there for brunch and no caffeinated coffee was available and the Mexican Coffee my niece wanted was going to be made with decaffeinated coffee and it wasn't disclosed. We finally ordered different cocktails and waited over 20 minutes. The drinks were pretty good, White Sangria and Spicy Mango Margarita. Then our order was classic table side guacamole as an appetizer, and it never was delivered. "Oh, there was a confusion" in the kitchen was what we were told as our entrees were delivered. My green chicken enchilada had a delicious sauce, but the chicken was dark meat and had a funny taste. The beans had old onions on it also had a very bad odor. Cheese Mole Enchiladas were swimming in mole sauce, rice was hard and the salsa was flavorless. Service was not great, the server checked on us one time. I live in Arizona and know good Mexican Food, this isn't the place. The restaurant was beautiful inside, bright and airy with different rooms. This was our second time going to this location and everything was A+. We started with drinks, husband ordered a beer and I got the chile mango margarita (yum) we also ordered the nachos w/red chile chicken and WOW, so good. Definitely order the queso, it's brilliant . Our server, Danny, was wonderful and we will be asking for him on future visits. The chopped salad with chicken was spicy- beware! And they forgot the chicken! We saw friends outside and they had a similar experience.
