Usually the place we choose for Family special celebrations, but this week it was a gathering from peers from the job. The service was wonderful as always, and they set us up in a perfect spot for such a large group. We started with signature beverages and each individual spoke highly of their personal drink. It was followed by special appetizers for the table which they were delicious. The selection was perfect... fried zucchini, cheesy garlic bread. l had the Zuppa Di Pesce, which it was just perfectly tasteful. Of course, I had enough to bring some home as well. We've dined here previously and decided to go on a drive to Wilmington for dinner. We picked up our son from his dorm on the way. The building is old and repurposed from the previous establishment. The inside is a stucco style interior with an "Italian" vibe. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. They did ask if we had reservations which we did not. After being seated we noticed most of the tables were reserved. Note for future outings here. Our server, Marie, was great. We ordered calamari and waters. They do have a nice wine list, beer, and cocktails for those partaking. She returned shortly with our waters and a few minutes later our bread and calamari. The complimentary bread and the calamari were both good. When she dropped off the beverages and appetizer, she took our dinner orders. We ordered the Chicken Francaise, Zuppa di Pesce, and Pollo Parmigiana. While we were waiting for our food, the servers sang happy birthday to someone. It's nice to see restaurants still doing this. Once our food arrived, we were definitely ready to enjoy. Enjoy we did. We all sampled each others plates and we all agreed the dishes were well prepared and tasted great. I'm sure someone will look at the spaghetti with the Pollo Parmigiana and criticize. I will say, the spaghetti and sauce complimented the meal because the chicken was cooked and seasoned just right. Came here today and absolutely enjoyed our dinner. Despite not having a reservation the staff gave us a very nice place. We had ginger beer, ginger ale, alcohol free beer and a margarita. We then also ordered Spaghetti w/ Meatballs, Pasta Primavera Alfredo, Lobster Ravioli and Linguine w/ Clams. Everything was very delicious and tasted very well. The staff was attentive and helpful, but iced water had to be ordered and didn't come by default. The place very nice. We paid about $110 w/o tip, absolutely value for money. But seriously, in North Carolina we are lacking. My son just finished his freshman year at UNCW and after his final exam we were going to pack up his dorm then head for a burger at Carolina beach. We decided that would take too long and he suggested this Italian spot in Wilmington. He said he had been there once before when he was craving fresh gnocchi. First off, I am very thankful to have found an authentic Italian restaurant that doesn't out-source what can me made in house. I drive almost two hours to eat here weekly. I try to order something different every time I dine in, and I've never been disappointed. The lobster ravioli is by far my favorite and paired with the caesar salad .. oh my god! This restaurant also in my opinion has some of the best cooks in Wilmington. They are very professional and gracious with their portions. Tried the chicken parm for the first time a few nights ago and I am in ahhh. Every bite was just heavenly. The portion was so large, I ate on it for days. The restaurant is very clean. The wait staff are your typical older college crowd. I typically tip the cooks as well as the wait staff. The taste and quality of the food out-weigh the mediocre attention of the wait staff. My wife and I found ourselves with an unexpected date night so we settled on Italian. I'm so happy we came here. We came in around 615in the evening and were seated quickly. Not too long after the restaurant began to fill up. They take reservations and I suggest you call if you can. They display a sign boasting about their service and I do have to say it was pretty good. Our server was quick and attentive. We ordered cocktails and when mine came out I was disappointed at the size of my old fashioned. But it packed a punch and my wife commented the same on her espresso martini. The table bread was tasty and the olive oil was good. Our entrees were really good. My wife quickly finished off her pasta primavera and I really enjoyed my veal parmesan. When we were leaving the place was emptying out, and our table was readily available. Our server brought out the complementary bread and olive oil. We added Parm cheese to our olive oil, and the bread was delicious. We ordered the Caesar salad and the wedge salad. The Caesar salad does come with anchovies on top. FYI, the Caesar salad is very fishy. I enjoyed the wedge salad more. The bacon was thick and crispy in the ranch was homemade. For our dishes, we got the chicken marsala with the vegetables, fettuccine Alfredo add shrimp, clam, linguine, and lobster ravioli. The linguine and clam needed some added Parm cheese. Once added the flavor was amazing. The lobster ravioli was full of lobster meat in the sauce with the mushrooms was so tasty. I could eat that sauce on top of anything. Service was great. Our server was very attentive and made great recommendations. Several other employees checked in on us and made sure we had a great visit. We finally got a chance to check our Rosalie's on a random Tuesday night around 6 pm. Place was mildly busy and had some reservations but we were sat immediately! The ambiance was very nice, soft music and on the quieter side. We had delightful server named Mandy who gave us EXCELLENT recommendations of the food and mentioned some of her favorites. The table bread was DELICIOUS. Definitely got a second bowl. We ended up getting the Francaise with angel hair (pictured) and the Pollo Sorrentino with angel hair as well. The side veggies on both were delightful. Definitely recommend adding the angel hair, we both made two meals out of it. The Francaise definitely could've used more sauce, more powerful lemon flavor but overall was a very light dish. The Sorrentino was delicious, the sauce was to die for and plenty on that plate. Rosalie's has a big menu with a lot of traditional Italian American options as well as some chef specials to round of the menu. Growing up in an Italian American family veal was always my favorite, so on the rare occasions I do go out to an Italian restaurant, I always love to try out the veal as a barometer. It was a large portion that was covered in cheese and served with a side of spaghetti. The bottom of the veal did get a little bit soggy from some excess water from the pasta/sauce since the sauce was placed on top of the spaghetti instead of mixed together. It was also served in a smallish bowl/plate that was rounded where the food was which made it pretty difficult to cut the meat. The flavors were not bad, but not my favorite. I had also gotten a side of the cheesy garlic bread, and that was fine as well, it was just lacking some garlic flavor. read more
