Honestly if it wasnt for the customer service I would be giving this place a 3/5 based off the food alone. The food isn't bad at all don't get me wrong but I felt like some of it needed more flavor. The fried rice was fire and the beef and broccoli was cool but the egg rolls and chow mein needed more flavor for sure, but like I said it wasn't bad by any means. With some extra soy sauce and Sriracha I was okay with the chow mein, but to me if I have to add extra flavor it's because it's lacking. Kind of like one of those places where you leave and you aren't mad or unsatisfied but probably won't go back. Or one of those places where if someone else takes u and pays for it you'll eat it but u wont buy it urself lol. The customer service I absolutely loved tho. So to me that counted for an extra star, the customer service was soooo good that I would actually be down to try the place one more time (just in case it was an off day when I went). I went in to meet a friend to just chit chat on a weekday evening. I ordered one of their combo dinner plates and it came with soup, egg roll, chow mein and curry shrimp. I think that was a great deal and the people working there were extremely helpful. They were also very patient and I like the fact that they were ready to give suggestions if I asked. It's pretty slow on weekday evenings, but I recall that around 5pm there was a lot of people coming in to get their TAKE OUT they ordered over the phone. I also saw people coming from work and made take out orders. So its good food. My friend who recommended this place said they serve white meat chicken only. That is why we made it here. This is my go to location for Chinese food. in the Elk Grove area. They will make accommodations in an item to help meet my needs and make a great takeout for dinner while I'm having lunch. The Chinese Chicken Salad is great for a light lunch with egg rolls. Food and service is excellent. They do a good takeout business. They are closed Monday is the only downside, but they deserve a break from the great work they put in all week. read more

The Rose Palace is awesome! We love the food here and it serves a Mandarin / Szechuan cuisine. They serve generous portions and the food is delicious. Some of our favorites are the house special chow main they use the large noodles and it's loaded with flavor! Other items you must try are the honey walnut prawns they come out crispy and sweet. The sauce is amazing and we treat it as more of a desert. The peking spareribs are great their batter is delicious and the sweet n sour sauce is perfect. They have great beef with broccoli and their house special fried rice is so good. Honorable Mention goes to the following orange chicken, sweet n sour pork, fried prawns and crabmeat cheese wontons! The perfect choice if you're in the mood for those classic Americanized Chinese dishes. They have really good meat! TL;DR: What is unique about them is how tender and soft their meats are! They cook their pork, beef and chicken perfectly. Nothing is chewy or tough. The breaded chicken dishes (i.e. general and orange chicken) use thigh meat, which I love. Some places I've gone to overcook their breast meat and we end up with super dry and overly crunchy chicken, which is not my jam. The other thing worth noting is that if you want spicy food this is definitely not for you. We've asked for extra extra spicy General Chicken and gotten a mild tangy spice at best. LOCATION/PARKING: Located in the same shopping center as Safeway, they are on the corner of Laguna Crest Way and Laguna Blvd. Parking is a breeze as the shopping center is pretty spacious. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the smaller side, but they make use of the space they have with large round tables, which are pretty traditional for Chinese restaurants. The decor reminds me of classic mom and pop Chinese restaurants. There isn't much for ambiance, so you'd definitely be going for the food. I've only ever done take out, especially now with COVID. SERVICE: They are pretty friendly and accommodating for special requests. I like to ask for more spice for certain dishes and no bean sprouts on my noodles. FOOD: Our go-to is definitely the breaded chicken and pork dishes, namely Peking Spareribs and General Chicken. The Peking ribs are boneless and tender, which is something I highly prefer. I also love their use of thigh meat for their General Chicken, which makes it so much easier to eat and makes the fact that it's not spicy forgivable. I will say the breading is on the softer side but I usually take a little while to get home from picking up the food, so that might have an impact on it. Though it really honestly doesn't bother me at all. I still enjoy the dishes. I got the Beef Chow Mein and I have to say the beef was so tender and delicious. I would recommend doing beef if you're going to get noodles. Some of the noodles were on the blander side, so the beef gave it a good amount of flavor. It's not the best Chow Mein I've ever had, but it wasn't bad. The Crabmeat Cream Cheese Wontons were pretty good. It came with a side of sweet and sour sauce. They had good flavor, but I do wish it had a little more filling. I still want to try their Salt and Pepper Pork and Fish, as well as the Orange Chicken. So overall, I will say this is a solid place to get very Americanized food and the portions are fair. PRICE: Their prices are affordable and on par with similar standard Chinese restaurants. I think the prices are about $1-$2 higher if you use DoorDash. For my DoorDash order, the Chow Mein was $9, and the General Chicken and Peking Spareribs were $11. Wanted to like this place but the food was not that good. Fried rice with BBQ pork was too dry and honestly seemed old with a weird after taste. Tonight my friend and I wanted Chinese good, so I looked on Yelp. Rose Palace was first to pop up and had a solid 4 star rating. We drove to Rose Palace which is located in Safeway Shopping Center. The restaurant is very small, a hole in the wall. We were greeted immediately by a very nice man and woman. They were very friendly, immediately seated us, brought our menus and took our drink order. We ordered a soup that I cannot recall the name of (shrimp, dumplings, pork, chicken and veggies), potstickers, house fried rice (chicken, pork, shrimp, veggies), and a vegetable dish (broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, celery, and more cooked al dente with a light sauce). Everything was really good, tasted fresh, and the temperature was hot. A woman wait staff person was attentive and stopped to check on us regularly. Excellent customer service, quite attentive. When we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant. However many people came in to eat and several people came in for take out orders plus a couple delivery orders went out. I have eaten at many different places and I love Rose Palace.. let me tell you why.. it is not at all greasy like all the other places I have had.. it is a bit pricey, however with their quantity and quality, it is worth every dollar! Well at least for me.. everyone have their own opinion, so this is just mines.. I am a picky eater and every dish that I have ordered from here has not disappoint me. The Kung Pao Chicken is very good and not too spicy and I am able to add my sricha if needed..My favorite dish is definitely my Chicken Fried Rice! Although I wish they would offer gravy or "wet" Chow Fun, the stir fried one is also good..I love their customer service, they are very nice and courteous! I don't know what's up with all the negative reviews in Sacramento in general, but it seems like they're all angry. It was hard to pick a Chinese restauraunt to eat at because of it. As you know, I love me some chinese. I've tried Nathan's, and that place was good but I wanted to try another spot. This was the lucky go. I was surprised at the size of the restaurant and shortly came to realize that everyone who came in while we were there ordered for take out. The service here is great. They are very attentive and happy people. I enjoyed it very much. They must love it when people stay for dinner. Beef chow fun: I loved how thick the noodles are and how they slice the pork, julienne. This way, you can get a piece of pork in every bite! Honey walnut prawns: they should call it honey walnut shrimp. Definitely not prawns. The breading is a little thick. The sauce can make the batter soggy real quick. None the less, it was still good. I work down the street from the resturaunt and have dined in and carried out. the resturaunt is fairly small. while dinning in I can hear other parties's conversation because it's only like a foot away. their lunch specials are great with huge portion sizes. I normally get their orange chicken with chow mein and it also comes with an eggroll & wonton & soup during dinner time. the prices for dinner plates is a few dollars more than lunch plates. but it's still inexpensive.
