I'm an American, off my cruiseship, strolling down Rose Street, looking for an open pub, around 11 o'clock, this morning. Not having much luck in this endeavor, i looked up and saw the striped pole, on the wall of #137 Rose Street. I told my friends I'd catch up and stepped up and in to a cute, immaculate shop and met the loveliest barber, named Lynne. I asked if she might be available and how much a skin fade cut would cost.
"25" was her reply and i sat right down. I received exactly the cut i desired, by capable, deft, experienced hands and enjoyed wonderful conversation and walked away a new ultra satisfied Rose Sreet Barber customer. It gets better...
Not realizing that this fine men's salon d'coiffure was strictly a cash operation and did not accept e-payments;
I found myself in the embarrassing position of having no local currency. This pretty propreitor surprised me and accepted my U.S. dollar$, at the exchange rate she found on her phone.
What began as a happen-stance encounter by a shaggy 'yank' from Texas turned into the best haircut, on the other side of the world and a grand cultural experience.
Go see Lynne, at Rose Street Barber for a great cut, great international style and truly great service‼
