I got there first thing in the morning with my mom and aunt to get started. We arrived on a Friday and parking was PACKED. We ended up finding a spot in a nearby lot, so if you have a certain time you want to arrive, make sure you factor in parking. Anyway, we made our way into the building, and a nice lady told us we could sit anywhere we wanted and gave us the rundown. You're able to make an array of items. We ended up making car fresheners, perfumes, lotions, and candles. You start off by picking your favorite scents and combinations. If you're anything like me and my mom, we are very indecisive, luckily they help you pick out scents and combinations they think you'll like. Seriously amazing staff! They were so patient with us to make sure we got the scent we loved. Overall, the process took about an hour, and depending on what you make, you'll have to come back after 3 -4 hours to pick up your items. When we came back around late noon, it was packed, so I definitely don't recommend coming at that time. Definitely go early in the morning or maybe a couple hours before they close. The prices weren't overly expensive at all. I can't remember the exact total, but I think I got around three items and only paid about $70. Either way, if I have more family coming in from out of town or just want a fun place to go with friends, I can definitely see myself coming back

What's amazing is that they have over 50 scents to sniff out. It takes awhile and there are a bunch of really cool and unique scents such as Fruit Loops, gun powder, marijuana, leather, pink sands, clothesline, creme brulee, fruit loops, honey crisp, and rain. The employees are helpful with suggesting combinations once you write down your favorite scents. I decided to get hand soap and the perfume roller. The scents are quite amazing but they are quite ephemeral. After reviewing everything, I realized that they lied about the prices. I got overcharged $11 so I'm pretty upset by being lied to and overcharged by a lot.

John was a great tour guide--nice, informative, and absolutely hilarious! Due to time, those areas weren't included, which was a bit of a bummer. Overall, though, the tour was enjoyable. Since the place was built in the '80s, there aren't really any ghost stories--probably because in the '80s the only ghosts people talked about were the Ghostbusters. The property definitely needs a bit of love. The carpets need cleaning, and the whole place could use a refresh to bring back that '80s charm instead of feeling more like the '50s. I did love the artwork throughout, especially the stair rails, doors, and mural. A small on-site café or coffee spot would be amazing--there's so much potential here to elevate the experience, especially if they plan to maintain it as historic grounds. They no longer host weddings here, which is disappointing since I remember driving by years ago and seeing celebrations happening on the property. Overall, the tour is worth the price and definitely something to check out for yourself. Drink your coffee before you go! And remember: don't touch anything on the tour. It's always embarrassing when the guide has to remind everyone because of that one person who just can't follow the rules. Sheesh! Why is there always that one human?‍ The kitchen was definitely a 80s kitchen. In any case, I recommend checking it out if you're a history buff or just simply need something to do. I was searching for Mother's Day activities that didn't involve food (so much of the graduation festivities were ALL about food), and I came across Light + Bark. I decided to book a candle pouring reservation for our group of seven, and was grateful they still had availability on such a busy weekend. I've done candle pouring before, and it's been more of a private experience, where we had the space to ourselves. Light + Bark has a bit different of a layout ... the candle pouring takes place right in the middle of the shop, and felt a bit crowded at times for a larger group like ours. Even still, the instructors made us feel welcome, and encouraged us as we selected our scents! They even had free mimosas for Mother's Day, which was such a thoughtful touch to make moms feel special. The scent selection is expansive, and we especially loved the desert-themed collection. We felt the pricing was fair for the experience as well ... it's $38 for a small vessel, $48 for a medium vessel, and $58 for a large vessel. We ended up getting really into the scent mixing process, and had a great time smelling everyone's final products! The candles take two hours to set, and then you can pick them up at your convenience during regular shop hours. Unlike other DIY places, Jade truly wants you to own the experience and has step by step instructions so you are fully self sufficient but she is also around for any questions you may have. From making your own soy candles to your own soap, you get to choose the colors and the scents. She also has a selection of items for sale such as diffusers and car fragrances.
