The NY pizza shop across the corner from Penn Station did NOT disappoint. You walk in to a gorgeous display of pizzas ready to be ordered by slice. The service team is friendly and quick to take your order and get your choices in the oven. Very clean and ample seating. Stopped in for a slice. Price said $2.85. I had $3 in my hand. When I went to pay it's comes to $4.04 So I had to start digging in my pocket. Now this is when most places would be like don't worry about it. They didn't say that. I handed her the extra dollar and she gave me a hand full of change to pay for the 4 cents. Now not only do I have a pocket full of change she doesn't know how to count and shorted me 10 cents. Just not good business in my mind. Pricing a single slice that I'm sure is ordered often, at a price point that breaks another dollar every time. The slice was also small with not much flavor. Wont be back. So decided to get lunch from this pizzeria. The order was called in. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and went to the counter. My family's go to place. Love the cold subs from here. Very tasty, fresh and filling. I always get the ham, cheese and salami sub. It's my favorite! The pizzas are also really great. Mushroom is the one I usually select. In my opinion, the pizzas are a bit messy. The toppings always find a way to fall off the slice, but I look past that because it's so full of flavor.. I don't mind picking up the pieces from my plate with a fork. Staff is super sweet and always kind! They feel like family which makes this place so welcoming and warm. Talk about a classic. The #1 here is exactly that. I prefer the #8 though, which is the same thing but has more meat. For those who don't know, the #1 is the amazing legendary sandwich the fantastic owners of this place make. The pizza is also pretty good, one of the only places I order plain slices from. This place has great service and great tasting food. The Sicilian pie is one of my favorites from here even though it might not be for everyone. It's a thick crust pizza that's square. Sounds difficult to swallow but once you taste it you'll understand. The other option is a sandwich and they are all really tasty. Try the number 7 with everything if you're feeling adventurous.
