With all of the actual science that's out, the fact that you have to use poisonous, toxic "sanitizer" that's only 62% (which is not even optimal for killing germs, 70-71% is) is not even effective. WHY are you forcing people to use it? It's NOT scientific, it's NOT effective and NOT necessary. Stop harassing potential customers. It's such poor taste.

It's an adorable shop run by an amazing group of incredible, caring people who put a great deal of time and effort into curating a welcoming environment for people from all walks of life. They are very selective about the items that they agree to consign, so shoppers have a ton of high-quality, in-style options to choose from. It's honestly dangerous to go in there because there is always something cute that I MUST have; however, if you have a clothing problem like I do, when you're not buying new, you can at least shop with a clean conscience! On the other end, the consignment process is simple, clear, and quick, and you are reasonably compensated when your items sell, especially if you opt for store credit payout. The dressing rooms are honestly my favorite part. When you walk in, you're greeted by hundreds of sticky notes with positive affirmations posted by other shoppers. It's like the positivity and immediate camaraderie you find in the womens' restroom at a club (but without all of the bottom-shelf liquor). Shop small, and shop secondhand!

Mike sized me up and was immediately on the phone to order my suit from his supplier, with expedited shipping at no extra charge. The price was a bit more than I'd pay at Men's Warehouse, but not a whole lot more, and the garments are of noticeably higher quality, and each suit comes with lifetime free alterations. He called me the minute it came in, and I went down to try it on. It fit great, and looked great, but I immediately noticed it was a charcoal grey, rather than the lighter grey I wanted, and which I heard Mike order on the phone. In short, I knew it was the supplier's mistake, not the Shop's. But Mike didn't pass the buck, didn't explain it away. He took accountability for his supplier's mistake, and had the charcoal suit altered for me to use in my interview, and ordered the correct grey one for me when I get back. I was expecting to give back the charcoal one, but when I returned to try on the altered suit, he insisted I keep both for the trouble. I was blown away. Mike's words were "I do business the right way, the way it used to be done". Indeed. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Stepping in to this cute boutique shop, one feels as though they have just entered a set for Sex and the City or Confessions of a Shopaholic. It's beautiful inside, with comfy sofas, fancy chandeliers, and pretty flowers to complement the spectacular selection of fashionable clothing from designers such as Tory Burch, Donna Morgan, and Kate Spade. In addition, customer service is fantastic. The ladies working at Monkee's are all very friendly and helpful, and they made me feel so comfortable while I was browsing the store. To state it simply, Monkee's female shopper's paradise!
