My partner was craving a steak, and we were able to make a reservation at Rosewood Grill. The dining room was cozy and rustic. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She talked my partner into upgrading to one of the special (and larger) steaks, but she wasn't pushy about it at all! He was so satisfied with what he ordered and polished off the entire meal. We ordered French 75s to start. I liked the orange flavoring, which was a neat twist on the classic. Our Caesar salads were pretty good, although a little more dressing might have been nice. Fresh bread complemented our meals. I had the lobster fettuccine and added a few shrimp on top. It was loaded with lobster and had fantastic flavor. As I already mentioned, my partner's steak was also a hit. The bite that I had was very well seasoned. We ended the evening with a slice of carrot cake. While we went for a higher end night, there were lots of reasonably priced appetizers and sandwiches on the menu. I'd like to come back. Went there on Sunday for Social Hour aka Happy Hour (3-5) and got some pretty good deals. Started off with $5 cosmo martinis, $5 deviled eggs topped with crumbled bacon (6 halves) and $9 seared tuna lettuce wraps (3). They also have many other selections which you can see from photos. Later we decided on dinner plates at regular price. Lobster fettuccine and HEARTH ROASTED SHORT RIB * fingerling hash, spinach, espresso bbq which were absolutely on point with deliciousness! The fettuccine was very light cream sauce and complimented the mounds of lobster. The short rib was super tender and flavorful. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was classy and elegant. So it's starting to look like I'm giving away 5 stars now. Trust me, I'm not. So this is a late post (apologies). So it's my wife's birthday again, and I didn't want to go all the way to Cleveland. However, I wanted something nice for my girl. I asked her about this place, and she said her friends said it was good. So we were late because the Candy Man ran long, but they seated us immediately. I ordered the fish of the day which was some hybrid of salmon or something. They wife ordered the lobster fettuccine. Look, from the spinach dip, to the salad, to the entree, it was easily a hit. An what made it even better was the big guy who posed as our water. Posed because he is clearly a voice over actor. This guy took care of us...Big John. Seriously, the food is very good, but you will definitely pay for the quality. So get your money right before you go. read more

The reason for the Three will come later. The place is very impressive with outdoor seating, bar area and dining, then the more casual upscale dining room. All is very comfortable and attractive. The service was outstanding with various managers checking in to make sure all was good. Menudo was attractive, not over blown but a good mix of things from dinner salads to steaks, fish, pork.... So the reason for the three star, the food and cost. This is the value statement. So we got two rib eyes and t-bone pork-chop. Rib eye was $35 each. The were choice cut given the amount of fat and gristle and were the 3/4 inch cut. So the thinnest you can serve. While cooked perfect it was not seasoned that well. The baked potato that comes with was cooked great, but the sour creak and cheese were skimpy. The pork chop was ordered med well but came out closer to well. Missed on the seasoning. It came with a chutney that was also very light on flavor. For desert we got a bread pudding that was very dry and lacking in flavor. We also got, probably the highlight of the night a cheese cake with seasonal fruit. It was worth going and having on its own. There was also a flat bread. In the menu it had no price. Ended up being $15 and not worth it. If you get them at the bar they a great selection and are $10, that is more proper pricing. So I may go back, eat in the bar and go with sandwich's. read more

2/18/23 If you check out my other reviews of Rosewood it will be clear how much I love this restaurant! Tonight was an off night, but their reaction to it earns them another 5-star review from me. Starting with the positives, sitting at the bar is a great way to get in at the last minute, when it is typically very busy. As you can see in the photo, it's a great environment. Also, the waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. Also, take a look at the pic of the wedge salad...killer! It was just delicious and beautifully displayed. The crab cakes were amazing as well! I was disappointed in the old fashioned, as it was just not very tasty and cost as much as two drinks at most places. The Brussels Sprouts were to die for and were very filling. However, they did not serve them until we asked for them after waiting quite a while. Then, they forgot to put nuts on the side due to a food allergy twice. In the end, they did not charge us for them and were very apologetic. Given the fantastic flavors, their apologies and their adjustment to the bill, coupled with the fact that even the best of restaurants have an off night, they deserve another top review in my estimation! read more

To celebrate Father's Day, my family took me to Rosewood Grill for the first time while we were visiting Hudson. The venue was pleasant being in a historic mill except that the air conditioning was set too low. We were not the only party taking issue with the cold temperature. I ordered the french onion soup, 9 oz. thick cut sirloin, & bacon fingerling potato hash. The french onion soup was good but not excellent. I ordered my steak "medium" but it was served on the rare side of medium-rare but tasted very good. I did not care for the bacon fingerling potato hash & would not recommend it. Our server was Tiffany who did an excellent job. In my opinion, the price point is high even for Hudson. We ate here with friends last night and had a wonderful meal. I had the delicious lobster bisque and the Alaskan halibut, which was very tasty and perfectly prepared. Service was incredibly well paced and excellent. My only minor criticisms were that it was fairly loud as we had been seated in the bar area and the lemon bar I had for dessert was too large and was drenched in whipped cream. Don't get me wrong. We were out and about. Exploring Akron and decided to drive home through Hudson. Beautiful town!! We were dressed in our standard Sat clothing of workout clothes and tennis shoes. We were a bit under dressed and a few people did stare. A LOT! I really didn't like the uppity clientele in this place. I hate it when people think they are better then others. Anyway! We ordered drinks, apps and main courses. Drinks were good. Coffee was fantastic! We ordered the monkey bread and deviled eggs to start. The monkey bread was outstanding!! Warm, sweet bread with walnuts. It really was delicious. The deviled eggs? Were pretty terrible. Way. WAY to much horseradish. That's literally all I could taste. It wasn't good at all. Our main courses were. The eggs Benedict and the prime rib hash. I had the eggs Benedict and after 1 bite, I couldn't eat anymore. The English muffin was over cooked, the ham was so paper thin, I couldn't taste it and lets talk about that hollandaise sauce. It was awful! It was clumpy and wasn't good at all. Like, it wasn't hollandaise sauce. I don't know what it was. But, it was terrible! Husband got the prime rib hash and again. There was so much horseradish, I couldn't even take a bite of it. We picked this place based on recommendations from friends for an anniversary dinner. We went with friends who had been here before. I was blown away by my entree, The lobster fettuccine. It had chunks of lobster! I couldn't stop thinking about it the next day. I highly recommend the sushi shots, the deviled eggs and the crime brûlée as well (we all shared!). We stopped in on my birthday. This place has a great winter vibe...from the fires going outside to the stone walls in the main diniing room.. My wife and I started at the bar, it's always a bit cramped and noisey, but their drinks are worth it. Nice selection and good prices. I had an old fashioned, and then a sazerac. My wife had the spiced pear martini--wow, this was a different drink, very delicious! On to dinner in the main dining room. We started with the calamari. Lightly breaded and not greasy, it also had thin sliced peppers which added a nice spice which complimented the sweetness of the calamari. My wife had the walleye special which was an asian take on walleye. Light honey glaze on the walleye and it was served over vegetables (not veggies, those are only on the children's menu). I had the ribeye steak (nice and rare), it was so flavorful, no sauces or addons were necessary. It came with a baked potato, but nothing else. I was expecting broccoli or asparagus. I should have asked what was included, but other lower priced restaurants typically include something. But honestly, this was just a minor complaint. For dessert, they brought this birthday boy a delicious warmed brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. I added a nice port wine to close the stomach. What a wonderful evening! read more

Our experience here was fine. The food was good, the service was good. I'm not sure I can say there was anything exceptional about the restaurant or the food. The food is a little highly priced for what you get, but we were prepared for that. Our waitress could not answer a lot of our questions, which she always said she would check on it for us, but we just felt she wasn't super knowledgeable. I can't say the food was that delicious, just pretty basic. I probably would not come back here for dinner except for the delicious buffalo chicken roll appetizer. We had dinner there for our 44th anniversary. It was so loud we couldn't even talk without raising our voices quite a bit. My husband ordered a filet over $40 and pink in the middle and it came out almost still kicking. they took it back to cook more and after quite a bit it was still really red in the middle. By this time the rest of his food was cold and I was done eating. They did apologize and take it off the bill but it really spoiled our special night out. Our server was very apologetic and was good.
