Absolutely shocked that the sales lady allowed a damaged item to be sold and given as a gift. Today, Saturday at 3:30 went to their store after calling multiple times which was unanswered to return. Door signage posted a 2:00 closing, but internet shows a 4:00 closing time. Nor, does their line have a voice mail. Very unhappy will never purchase another item without looking at it. Hostess will need to return item. Can't believe based on the 3 photos the store finds it acceptable to display and sell. Thought the store had higher standards.

Got to the register and the woman said they weren't able to buy 2 on the same transaction. I asked if we could split it up so they could each have their own set of Pokemon cards. The manager or whoever it was said "no it's 2 per household". I told her the sign clearly says "2 per guest". She said my kids don't count because they're not adults, so it's just 2 per household. I told them then maybe they need to change the signs to say "per household" rather than "per guest" and that Pokemon cards are actually for kids anyway so it's crazy that my kids "don't count" just because they're not adults.

However, I wont dare purchase anything from Target or my local grocery store. Instead I head to the Dollar Tree. Here I can stock up on my faves, like gummy bears, gumballs and sour patch kids. And regardless of how much I purchase, I never spend my entire paycheck, which is nice. An extra perk of shopping at the Dollar Tree is I can also score cute seasonal items to decorate indoor and outdoors for the holidays, as well as household cleaning supplies. I even once found some cute stem glassware for when I host game/wine nights - they don't look cheap and actually rival other stemware I purchased from West Elm. In short, you can pretty much find anything you need here, on a budget and it's worth checking out if you haven't already. That being said, be prepared for the store to sometimes be extremely low on stock for candy and other snacks. They also randomly close, for no reason it seems. Eg, you show up on Monday at 2PM and they are closed...why? Also, there usually doesn't seem to be much staff, so don't expect to find anyone on the floor to help you. Usually only two, at most, registers are open. I've never had to wait in line forever though, so I'm not complaining.

When we first arrived, we were greeted warmly by the store manager, Christi, who was kind, professional, and had a genuine smile that set the right tone. The store was not busy, so it was fairly quiet, and you could easily hear my children's laughter echo through the aisles. My son is four--curious, energetic, and, like most toddlers, has a knack for exploring things he shouldn't. My one-year-old daughter giggled as he climbed into one of the large bins--yes, the sturdy, weight-bearing type designed to hold storage items. Of course, as any parent would, I told him to get out. He didn't listen immediately (because, well, he's four), but he wasn't hurting anyone or causing damage. Had anything happened, we're responsible parents and would've made it right. That's why I was completely shocked when an employee named John came marching from the opposite end of the store with a stern, unpleasant expression. Without so much as acknowledging us--the parents--he looked directly at my children and said, in a sharp tone, "Hey kids, get out of there because if you break, you buy." Then he turned and walked away. Not only was this incredibly unprofessional, it was completely inappropriate to speak to someone else's children in that manner. You don't approach toddlers with jargon they don't even understand. You address the parents first. His tone, body language, and delivery made the situation feel unnecessarily hostile and condescending--especially toward two very young kids who were simply being kids. Whether John was having a bad day or just lacks basic customer service skills, it was unacceptable. It left me embarrassed, upset, and frankly appalled that this was how a paying customer and her family were treated--especially in a store that prides itself on organization, sophistication, and service. Although Christi was not aware of what had happened during our visit, her calm and gentle spirit at checkout reminded me what great customer service should feel like. She treated us with genuine kindness and professionalism, completely unaware of the negative experience we'd just had with her employee. Unfortunately, her warmth wasn't enough to undo the damage caused by that interaction. This experience has completely changed how we view this location, and sadly, it will be the last time my family and I shop here. I sincerely hope The Container Store addresses this type of behavior and ensures no other family is ever made to feel the way we did that day.
