This is a good Ross usually not the cleanest of all of the Ross Dress for Less I've been to but is always well stocked. The staff here is always helpful but seem to only be running two to three registers in this place is packed beyond belief as back to school has just started, why did I choose to come in here is my own downfall as the wait was horrible but the cashiers were cool. I bought it with my only debit card. They're saying they couldn't find it and only way they can return the money to me that they can give it to me a store credit. Ugh I hate back to school shopping time. Especially when your kid wants to go to Ross for it. Out of all of the discount clothing stores, this one is my least favorite. This place is so unorganized,nothing is ever neat, things are in the wrong spot, people (customers) are rude, I mean I could go on and on. We ended up finding some jeans and a couple of shirts but when I looked at the line I debated if the discount was good enough to wait in it. It went all the way to the back by the fitting rooms! That wouldn't even have been a huge problem if they would have had more than 2 cashiers up front. I find it funny, frustrating, and misleading that there are 12 checkout lines within this place but they only had 2 cashiers 2 weeks before school starts ‍ Anyway good luck to those of you that endure this place. This Ross is okay, but it's definitely not as good as the one on Gosford Rd. I still find a few decent things here and there, but the selection just isn't as good. There aren't as many great finds, and sometimes it feels like I'm digging through leftovers from better-stocked stores. That being said, it's not bad--it still has the usual Ross vibe with the treasure hunt feel, and if you're patient, you can come across some solid deals. Prices are always the main reason to shop here, so for that alone, it's worth stopping by if you're in the area. But if I had to choose, I'd definitely head to the Gosford location first! read more

I want to start off by saying that I come to Ross for deals and no one expects these locations to be clean or checkout to be fast, however, at least have some PLEASANT employees. It has been multiple times now where the customer service associate encounter has been HORRIBLE. No smile, no hello, no positive attitude. Snarky comments and no urgency to help. Despite charging twice and being irritable upon asking for a gift receipt. Associate 518139 must have skipped their customer service training. This location should consider new staff or adequate training for this customer facing role. read more

I've only been here once, so it's hard to make a good honest judgement on this Ross. Here's my impression: large, clean, and crackin' on a Sunday afternoon. I loved their awesome shoe selection. Organized with great variety. Heels, boots, flats, sneakers. They've got it all. I couldn't help but pick up a pair of nude peep-toed Nine West shoes for $25 (plus 10% off for a minor pen mark on the surface). The home section was also very organized. I quickly grabbed some coral place mats for $3, bathroom rugs for $10, and paper towel holder for $3. While it was the perfect place to pick up my "I just moved into a new apartment and I need to fill it with random junk" items, I wanted to cry when I saw the line. From cash register to the back wall by home goods, I seriously contemplated dropping my items down on a convenient shelf and leaving. But considering how much time I spent looking at shoes and finding the perfect pair of nude heels, I decided to wait it out. This Ross has a great selection, but be warned that Sunday afternoons is NOT the time to wander over here. God, I hope Ross isn't always like this! read more

Good deals but the messiest Ross store I've ever been in by far. You can't even go down a row without having to run over hangers and clothing on the floor. Shoes are not in the right size areas and if you find the ones you want good luck finding the mate. I really hope this store gets it together. If you go on a weekend be prepared to wait at least 30-40 minutes if not an hour to check out which is seriously ridiculous! So if you are wanting to shop in a store that is dirty, with dirty clothes and lacks a daisy employees then this is your place. Was intending to make a lot of household purchases here for our new house. Until I saw a bunch of other shoppers wearing no masks or wearing them on their chins. I asked an employee why the other shoppers were not wearing masks and he said "it's only recommended." This place always looks pretty much like a tornado came through. Staff are not particularly friendly either. Came on June 29th around 6 pm and the girl working the fitting room looked like she was being tortured. Good golly. I even said, "thank you" after she handed my number and got nothing back. No, "you're welcome" or even a smile. Where's the manager on duty? Her stank face was off putting and needs to be checked. As for selection goes, you either get lucky on a day where their inventory is pretty full or you come on a day where all the stuff has been so obviously picked through. This evening i went to Bakersfield Ross located on rosedale hwy where the tall, white, dark hair male who was taking count for occupancy and also worked as loss and prevention made a very obnoxious comment to my boyfriend and I right as we walked through the doors. He looked at me and said "going to go spend all of his money, yeah?" And he began to laugh as i looked away, then he proceeded to say "spend it all!!!" It was a quick trip but then as we were walking out, empty handed, he goes "have fun spending all his money on Amazon" THEN he said to the couple walking in the same thing as he said to us walking in. As an independent female and advocate of all genders, I find this to be extremely offensive. I am appalled. How dare he assume anything. Matter of fact, I am the breadwinner of the relationship. Let me preface this by saying I am a BIG sales shopper. TJ MAXX, Marshalls, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Nordstrom Rack...I love them all. But this place is a horrible mess. Every time I go, there is always a security guy (or two) standing in front. This is two-fold for me. I appreciate the added security measure and it does make me feel a little safe, but then again, it makes me question the needed security. Especially in this area town! The selection is limited and I very rarely find fine designer items, like the other stores in town. Racks are typically mismarked and the pillow aisle looks like Northridge '94. Don't get a basket, because you'll never get through the aisles. I was once stuck between the Juniors separates aisle, waiting for ladies on either side to move. Shoes can be hit or miss. The only time I was able to find a decent, unscuffed, shoe I was not able to find the mate! The line is long all the time. I've been there first thing in the morning and there was still a wait. It's definitely not convenient. Average wait-time for me has been about 15 minutes. Which is a long time when you're dealing with out of control children with no parental supervision. (Shopping carts do well doubling as children rammers). Overall, Ross may be a good option if you need something cheap. Quality is hit or miss and more often than not you'll be purchasing a damaged good. But if this is your type of place, then go for it. Don't let me dissuade you out of a good time. (Fat kids are worth double points-they push back!). read more

Ross locations tend to attract crowds who are not respectful of the merchandise and it can end up left on the ground or in wrong locations. I have never been in this store when it even had a semblance of order. Truly, as many times as I have been here, and that is quite a few times, the only good things I have bought were in the kitchen section. It takes forever to check out, they are always needing price checks, and manager/supervisor assistance or some such crap to stymie the checkout. So you like scavenger hunts? crossword puzzles? Agatha Christie mysteries? Do you yearn for the Easter Egg Hunts so fondly remembered from Childhood? Do you excel at finding Waldo? Well, then have I got the perfect shopping experience for you! You have to be willing to put in a little work to shop at Ross. You're not going to just walk in, find what you're looking for, and walk out. You're going to have to do some serious hunting and picking. Most of the clothes are separated into the proper sizes, or at least the hangers are in the proper sections. It's not uncommon to find a size 2 top in the middle of the size 12 section and vice-versa. Count on making several trips to the dressing rooms (only 8 items per trip, please) before actually finding something that a) fits, b) hangs as well on a person as it does on the hanger, and c) has no missing buttons, hanging threads, stains, or snags and runs in the fabric. Don't get too emotionally involved with the outfit of your dreams that only comes in the next size up or down. You'll never find it in the right color or size. But once you do find that perfect pair of pants, blouse, slacks, dress, or shoes, you know you're going to get it for a song. Their prices are cheap. Dirt cheap. Almost "it had to have fallen off the back of a truck" cheap. without the danger of a black market transaction. This is off-price, yet still fashionable, clothing retailing at it's best. So what if you feel like you need to take a shower after you leave! Trust me, bring along some wet wipes. They'll take that grungy feel right off of you. Just keep looking at the cash register receipt and remind yourself why you came here in the first place - fashion forward clothes at a bargain basement price! P.S. They also carry housewares, jewelry, luggage, and even some specialty food items. Who knows? You may even bring home that chocolate bunny you've been lusting after ever since you read that first paragraph. read more
