In the first room of the shop we were schooled on the sale items in the store. One of the ladies gave us a run down of "This section is 30% off, this section is 50%, etc." for at least five minutes before letting us roam the shop freely. We did check out the sale section but found mostly Christmas items and some strange purses. The first room features gifty items, cards, and soaps. The second room of the store features clothing, jewelry, and shoes. Most of the clothing was geared towards older woman but that didn't stop the sales lady from trying to sell me on a hideous sundress that came in one-size-fits-all and is constructed so that it can be easily cut to the perfect length, no hemming required. Um, no thanks. My mom, though, was pleased to see that they carry the Oprah featured "Not your Daughter's Jeans" denim. The jeans apparently are miracle workers and squeeze and lift to perfection. Unfortunately for my mom, Magnolia didn't carry the petite sized denim so she was unable to buy any. We got a little more than annoyed with the over eager sales ladies and actually had to fake a phone call to get out of the store without making any purchases. Yikes!

They take great care in helping you find the perfect fit, style and color. They are very good about finding a similar shape if the exact dress you want is not in stock and will order the dress, have it shipped to their store and charge no shipping charges. The girls know their stock and often find a dress just based on a vague description. Highly recommend you make a trip to see their selection. You won't be disappointed.

This was, without a doubt, the worst experience we have had in the past three years…read more We booked an appointment and drove two hours to get there, only to be told when we arrived that we had only an hour and a half. From the moment we started, we felt rushed. The girl assisting my daughter, Catherine, made it very clear that we were on a strict time limit. At one point, while my daughter was trying on a dress, she was told that if she didn't like it, they needed to immediately switch it out because our time was running out. When you are shopping for a $400-$600 dress, your daughter should be able to actually look at herself, consider the dress, and make a decision without being pressured or rushed. My daughter barely had a minute to look at each dress before being asked to decide whether she wanted it or move on. We have never experienced this type of time restriction during our previous visits. Had we known we were going to be given such a limited amount of time, we certainly would not have driven two hours for the appointment. What made the experience even more disappointing was how the situation was handled afterward. When the manager saw how frustrated we were, she went to our girls and asked them to tell us not to leave a bad review. Involving the girls in that situation was completely inappropriate and, quite honestly, came across as desperation rather than an attempt to address our concerns. If you are asking families to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress, the customer service should reflect that. No one should feel pressured, rushed, or uncomfortable while making such an expensive purchase. Unfortunately, after three years of experiences, this was by far the most disappointing visit we have ever had.

Shop small, shop local!…read more This local women's boutique has beautiful clothing for all sizes, as well as shoes, jewelry, candles and misc items. I'm not a tiny girl by any means but my best friend challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and try something stylish. I came in very intimidated and left very happy! The girl working the register was upbeat, friendly, and helped me pick out some things to try on. She even showed me their sale rack in the back. I felt embarrassed to ask her if something I tried on looked ok, but she assured me that was what she was there for and I wasn't bothering her a bit. I ended up with two new sweaters and she helped me pick which one to wear out if the store and helped me cut the tag off. My friends loved the outfit, but even better, when I got home my boyfriend said I looked "hot" and that the shirt I was wearing was the best he had ever seen me in ! I'm still soaring from that compliment They carry "Dayton O" shirts too and a portion of the proceeds get donated to help feed local families through a local church. You cannot lose here. I can't wait for my boyfriend to see my second sweater!

It was a $40 Dress that was returnable for store credit in two weeks, but, given the purpose, I explained that I would do it as soon as we got back if the dress didn't work out. It didn't work at all because it has a weird short underskirt that would show in the picture. My daughter lives in Chicago and we went there while she was visiting the week after the trip. She found $130 worth of cute things but walked away from them empty handed when the rude shop employee refused to take the dress back. The employee called her boss who also refused. I'm sorry I went there. Sorry that the owner wasn't able to make an exception. Sorry that I won't go back. It's a shame for a small business to lose out. Understand every store has return policies like that for a reason but I was told something totally different.
