Sugarland Town Center Location- Disappointing service and staffing concerns I spent a good hour at this location looking for clothes for my 5-year-old. My 14-year-old asked why we didn't go to the one in Katy off 1093, and I now understand why. - The cashier was reluctant to tell me where the bathroom was, and the security staff directed me instead. I appreciate the help from security, but the mixed signals were frustrating. - my merchandise was nearly $300, I was asked by the cashier to help remove hangers from the clothing. While I understand the need to manage stock, this request felt audacious and inappropriate, especially given the volume I was purchasing. - The overall tone and demeanor of the cashier came across as unkind and the experience seemed hampered by being short-staffed. It gave the impression that assistance was treated as mandatory rather than optional or customer-service oriented. Even when I asked is this usual to have the customer take the hangers off. He said yes it's usual to ask. I said "I see" Impac: - I left feeling disappointed rather than satisfied with my purchases for my child. I almost want to return everything. - I intend to escalate this feedback to corporate to ensure improvements in staff conduct, guidance for bathroom location, and overall customer service. I used to shop here but this location went downhill. It should be renamed Attitude Ross. The security saw us at the check out area and still want to see what's in my bag. I don't want to Ross to judgment of this place, but they can do better. Barbie loves Ross in general but this is not her favourite location, and it's not mine either. It's located in Sugarland and it's often a bit of a mess. It's a little bit busy and it's hard to find help. I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of shopping at Ross to begin with because it always seems messy and cheap at Ross but stopped here because the Pearland (and Missouri City) stores were out of a particular doll my daughter wants for Christmas. HALLELUJAH- THE SUGARLAND ROSS HAD THE DOLL!!!!! Toy selection was in disarray but I am SO GLAD they had the item I was looking for!! Prices here are great. The checkout line took FOREVER and the store wasn't even busy. Strange. I had whispered to the cashier that the items were gift and she was careful to keep them out of view of my son. (Awesome work!) I appreciated her extra effort. She had originally rang up only 3 of the 4 items until I informed her she missed an item. She thanked me for my honestly and that more people should be like me. WOW this Ross is disgusting. Shame on management. The women's restrooms had ZERO toilet paper at 4:10PM. I told an associate who told me "oh well" and after nicely informing the manager his response was "we only restock in the morning". He didn't apologize due to the fact I had to use the restroom with no toilet paper... Nor did he offer to go restock or send someone to refill it. I just looked at him and finally said "well that's disgusting". WTF is wrong with these people? Hey sir next time go take a s**t and have fun not having any toilet paper. The quality of a lot of these clothes sure declined over the years. This location at least had a decent Maternity section but out of the 12 items I tried on, only 2 fit me because even thought they were listed as XL, they fit more like a Medium. They need to do quality checks on a lot of these suppliers. the fitting room attentant was patient as I was continuing to find clothes to try on. Boy do they need to clean that bathroom though. It stunk to high heavens. My poor bladder wouldn't be patient with me so I had to use the restroom here. Never the heck again. WOW, now in the store, not only are the checkout lines long on a Tuesday, senior discount day with just two registers open. However, what makes me done with this one is the fact that now, receipts are checked existing the store by security with the customer having to show it and open each bag themselves for security before existing????? Let me start by saying I love shopping at Ross! They have different goodies at different locations. It's like a true treasure hunt, and this Ross has a lot of in fashion clothing. I always go in with the mind frame "I'm only gonna spend $100.00 or less"! I've been here several times and I am always surprised by what I find. Go to this store for the deals not for the customer service. That way you won't be disappointed and may even be pleasantly surprised if someone is nice to you. My experience with this store is that the other staff may try to help, but the cashiers are without fail CONSISTENTLY CURT AND RUDE. Management needs to look into this. The lines were long and it appeared that some cashiers were more committed to avoiding ringing up customers while their coworkers were stuck making up for their lack of assistance. I wasn't aware of a hanger patrol enforced by security. To require customers to remove hangers themselves for recycling purposes was new to me. When is it the customer's job to remove hangers? This was my first time shopping in Sugarland since moving to Houston, so I decided to drop into Ross. I had purchased a dress and never found shoes and was a little unsure if I liked the way if fit me (even though I tried it on in the store). I decided to go to this Ross to browse their selection with the hopes of making an exchange instead of return. 10 mIn into my shopping experience I found something! A beautiful wrap dress for $16.99. I did a little more browsing. Although the return/exchange line and two other registers were all that were open the cashiers worked fast to move the lines. Instead of listening to me proactively, he immediately accused me of yelling at him. Heh ... zero customer service skills. Seriously. This douche should get fired. He told me to call the corporate. I am updating with an extra star! I have recently been afflicted with this really strange nail polish obsession (I blame the internet, as it is to be blamed for all things lately). Ross often has Color Club nail polish collection sets for $7.99 - which is really quite plainly awesome. Seriously people, if you've been bitten by the nail polish bug and you swear you've lost a quarter of your brain cells from nail polish and acetone fumes - there's still three-quarters of it left imploring you to stop splurging on $15/pop nail polishes from department stores. Also due to my ever fluctuating weight, I've had to expand my wardrobe a bit, but in an economically efficient manner. So yeah, I am all about the deeply discounted never-heard-of brands, which Ross seems to specialize in. No need to be snobby. I just need some proper-fitting dresses and such for summer, oh disgustingly sweltering summers of Houston. *dreamy sigh* I love Ross for the reason stated above. I scooped up three pretty darn adorable, fairly well-made (meaning the fabric wasn't completely flimsy and transparent and seemingly sturdy stitching) dresses (I think one of them was a notably brand even!) for around $50. You never know what you can find. there is a lot of different things that you can buy and they offer really cheap prices. This place is hit or miss. I have gotten several cute dresses here for summertime and they are super inexpensive. I've had people comment and how much they like them and ask where I got them and they are surprised when I say Ross. With that being said, I can never find good winter clothes here or pants. Che palle! This Ross store really bothered me. I don't like dirty stores. I don't know how this place is every other day of the week but on the day I decided to take a look in here it was far from clean. The floor was a mess of tracked in debris and a scattering of fallen clothing in some of the aisles. Clothing lying on a dirty floor is not a good selling point. As for the aisles themselves, they are jam packed to the very fullest with a slapdash mix of seasons past clothes that didn't sell elsewhere and skeptically okay apparel. Sizes are not organized as they may appear to be. Everything is a jumble. Long rack after long rack of jumble. Prices seem to be in the outlet/discount range. Quality of the items looked low to average. I suppose if you have the patience for this sort of store you may be able to find something decent. I didn't see anything that looked worthwhile and I certainly didn't want to spend time digging through clothing that had no appeal to me. I was ready to leave fairly soon. I did notice the checkout lines were very long and appeared to be moving very slowly. I suppose Ross shopping requires endless patience in every aspect. Ross is always a little more chaotic with cleanliness than TJ Maxx but sometimes you have a different selection of items than what is offered by TJ Maxx and Marshall's so I like to swing by. You might have to hunt more. They also offer a senior discount on Tuesday's which is when my mom shops. Good tip to know for Seniors. read more

This Ross is pretty much empty. You can never find anything here. The racks are always so empty. The lines are so long. If you need to buy one thing, it may take you longer then fifteen minutes. They have made changes in the store for the lines but still makes no difference. They really need to hire more employees to avoid these problems. The store is just always dirty. If you're a patient person, you'll probably get some awesome steals. I, myself, am not so I tend to get bored/frustrated while looking through the racks since you actually have to spend some time and look in order to find something decent. I did end up finding 3 tops in the 20 minutes that I spent there, but spent an extra 15 minutes in the check out line. This location doesn't have much selection for Juniors. The store is messy and a bit dirty. You might be able to find a good deal if you search through every single rack because it's kind of all over the place. Usually, I would be able to find a dress or a pair of shoes when I visit Ross but not at this location. It's a good place to waste your time in. Oh and forget about returning items without a receipt here. I returned a women's shirt here that I brought for my Mom. I lost the receipt but I had only brought it a week ago, all tags were intact, and it hasn't been worn. The shirt cost $19.99 but when I tried to return it the lady told me "the price went down to $13.99 and it will be store credit"....really? Only a week and it went down already (mind you it's a Calvin Klein shirt so I doubt it went down that quickly). So, I told her that's fine since my Mom doesn't like it anyways. Later on I looked at the receipt and found out that she lied to my face. The receipt description states that it's a "AL2 SL BOHO SCARF." How in the world did a Calvin Klein shirt turned into a boho scarf??? After using the store credit I will not visit Ross as often as I was before. Staff is sooo rude. I went to the store today to return 3 items. The cashier refunded me 2 items only, and good thing I double checked my receipt when I was in the car. When I returned to the store, the cashier was nowhere to be seen so I asked another cashier to help me with the refund and directed me to another one because she said she does not know how to fix it. As I was explaining my case to this female older cashier, she started smirking, speaking loudly that she's annoyed or whatever, then the other cashiers started laughing in unison, and then she told me to fall in line in a way like I'm ignorant and have no idea what is going on (I'm Asian by the way). I did not cut into a line. I approached the 1st cashier in a closed counter. Is it really too hard to tell a customer the process in a nice and polite way? It was very humiliating in my part and I was on the verge of tears as they went on laughing about me loudly oblivious of many customers around. They're ruining the reputation of this store. It's so sad that the elderly cashier with a short, wavy, blond hair, LINDA (if I remember it right) should be an example how to behave gracefully that deserves respect from younger generation, but she's not... :( read more

This place has the worst customer service. I've been there plenty of times, and there's always only one register open. Why have one register open when there's a line of at least 10 customers? The store is always dirty, and there are items all over the place. Maybe there shouldn't be four people working for loss prevention and more people working at the registers. read more

I have applied on line and keep calling them to follow up my application. i spoke the male manager twice and told me he couldn't find my application and advised me to do the assessment again which I did. without exaggerating I submitted my application more than 5 times, but still it doesn't come on their store system where I wanted to be hired. I kept calling and finally one day an employee told me that they hire employees on Monday. Then today around 11:am I went to the store. A very friendly young security woman greeted me when I walked in. Then I asked her where I can go and ask the manager to ask whether they have a spot. Then she called him. She told me politely that I can sit down and wait for him. Then another female woman comes and said " who wants to talk to me?" then I said it is me. She told me she is coming. I see her talking with her employees, hanging clothes etc . She forgot me completely. After sitting there for minutes I decided to leave. The security woman was sorry for me and ask me to leave my name and telephone number which I refused. Because I know for sure that those people have no decency to talk to me in person let alone to call me. This is a civilized country. You can't treat people like a a trash. I have a good job in the healthcare industry. Since Ross is my favorite store, I decided to be their employee. I know how low payment I would get, but I wanted to work in the place where I love the most. Anyways thank you for your repeated unethical response towards my request to be Ross's employee. read more
