After failing to make an operation appointment due to having a meltdown on the eve, when the next date was set, I worked with Deane for an intensive 6 week course to help get myself under the anaesthetic. I found Deane to be completely sympathetic of my phobia and confident that he would be able to help. We developed a program and Deane explained the theory and process as we moved forward. I found that by applying the new skills and techniques I was learning under hypnosis, I was able to remain calm as the operation day approached. There's no doubt Deane's help enabled me to go through with the operation with little stress and anxiety, in fact I now have the ability to cope and engage with future medical treatments life throws my way.
