I visited a lot of antique stores and cute shops in the Eddyville/Cadiz/Paducah areas, but this one is by far my favorite. Robin and her husband, David, own the business. The shop is located just adjacent to their own home. When you arrive you're actually pulling into their large driveway. The outside of the shop is expertly decorated, so I knew we'd be in for a treat. Everything about this place is just cute, even it's size. It is a small shop, but five of us managed to be in there at the same time. They sell everything from vintage items and antiques to newer/modern items, jewelry, tchotchkes, trinkets, wind chimes, souvenirs, homemade jams, salsas, woodworking crafts and they can even personalize signs, coasters, etc. So cool! This would be my #1 place to find gifts if I lived in the area. They have an eye for cool things and the store is laid out beautifully. There is something to look at in every corner--they've maximized their small space, that's for sure! I love how they throw in seasonal touches--right now they have some adorable fall merchandise. Checkout the handmade wooden Candy Corn. Robin and David are extremely talented people. They do sell some of what's in their shop on Etsy. The prices in the shop are very reasonable, though. I left with a dreamcatcher, necklace and a jar of homemade salsa for $20. So wish we had found this place earlier. Eye-catching signage located off the interstate, at the end of the road the shop is located on, and at the end of the owner's driveway. Look for the 'open' sign at the end of the driveway to indicate whether or not they're open for the day. You can't miss it. They sell gift cards, too. The owners are originally from Iowa, so that makes me love this shop that much more. Will make at least an annual trip to The Running Rooster. Highly recommend.

I booked an appointment online ( as the website site stated it was required to visit ) and had to sign that I understood that masks were required. Their policy also states all items tried-on will be steamed before returning to Shelves. I researched my potential purchases online before going and felt safe knowing their policies. None of these policies were followed. I arrived at the reserved time to find the doors open to walk-in traffic, and some of the other patrons not wearing masks. Multiple employees were not wearing masks. And the items I tried on were returned to the store without any steaming ( even though the steamer was right there). Very disappointed; Ribbon Chix should not say they have these policies and then not follow them.

Encore primarily sells clothing for the whole family (babies to adults), but they also have shoes, jewelry, housewares, home decor and a small amount of toys. We were greeted by the very nice woman working who told us about what was on sale. We were the only customers in the store which was great given that we're still dealing with COVID. Lots of the summer merchandise had been marked down and there was still a nice variety. I spent around $35 on several items that were on sale or very reasonably priced. A summer dress and casual top (both 75% off), men's dress shirt for my husband, and a couple of things that will be saved for Christmas. Had we paid original retail prices the total would have been twice or 3x's as much. I found their non-sale prices to be fair, it just so happened that most of what we purchased was marked down. The shop is well curated and a great place to check out if you have kids to shop for, yourself, maybe a gift for a friend. They had lots of nice, like-new (and new) jewelry, purses, wallets and ties that would make nice gifts.
