TL;DR: In my opinion this mall is just mediocre. It's functional but definitely not a destination…read moremall. The mall is only 1 floor but it's quite large. The anchor stores are Super C (a supermarket), Jean Coutu (a drug store), Rossy (a discount store) and Dollarama (a dollar store, lol). It has a variety of retail stores and services, but nothing really stood out to me as wow. I also found it unusual that they didn't have a proper food court. They have some restaurants to eat at but they are scattered throughout the mall. There's a Pizza Hut and a St. Hubert and a few other restaurants. The mall looks a bit dated and is reminiscent of malls in small towns, which I suppose has its own charm. It has some of those kids rides where you put coins in and the rides go up and down, back and forth or round and round. They also had some claw machines where you can win stuffed animals. I think it's a mall to go to run your errands, but not a mall to hang out at, lol. I would stop by again if I was already in the area for something else. Lots of free parking available. (152)

It is hard not to find anything at HomeSense that is not priced reasonably. Like other reviewers have mentioned, since it is located on Merivale Road, it should be avoided on the weekends. Not only that but avoid this location on Monday's as well, the stock is usually low, and the store is left with all the "left overs" from the weekend, that did not sale. Usually give it a day or two for the staff to load up the shelves with new goodies after their weekend rush. Best time to shop is Tuesday-Friday in the evening or morning. Minus the drive on Merivale the trip to Homesense was pretty good. This Homesense is massive! There are a lot of items at this store and like most Homesense's the stock changes weekly. There were a lot of items for the house, some nice, some awfully hard to look at! The good thing about this Homesense is that there are a lot of items for pretty reasonable prices. I'd recommend going on a weekday as Merivale seemed like a zoo today and I hear it's like that on weekends.

This Giant Tiger is an Express Store, which means it's much smaller than regular Giant Tigers. It feels a bit small and dingy, and is essentially a discount convenience store. The regular Giant Tigers are discount stores, similar to the now defunct Bargain Harold's in Toronto, or Bi-Way (which shut down, but I heard they will re-open a slightly re-branded store on Orfus Rd in Toronto (it will be called "Bi-Way $10 Store")). So the quality of the clothing there is not great, and the toys are usually not brand names, but they have inexpensive grocery items. Giant Tiger is a Canadian company and it originated here in Ottawa (the very first location was in the Byward Market, and it's still there). I've only been in this location a few times. It's not my favourite, but is convenient for the local residents.

The lady took it from me and I wait her to refund my money. but we were surprised again, she refused to refund my money and told us take another product, WHAT? Yes, she said no refund, this is our policy, you must take another product. I tried politely to explain that is not logic, there is not any signboard saying that strange policy. She mentioned a very small words at the tail of the receipt which is printed after payment not before. The store is cute and aesthetic, and has the typical cute plushies and little accessories that most Korean stores tend to have in stock. They also have a variety of korean makeup products. However, something to note is that their prices are slightly more expensive than the average Korean product (like by a dollar or so, when compared to online retailers, but not a big deal at all). Something to note- currently, they have a "no refunds" policy. Only exchanges are permitted for "unopened beauty and electronics within 14 days after purchase with original receipt." The store is located across from the Sephora store in Bayshore Mall, which is perfect so you can grab all your beauty and skincare needs all at once! They repaired the AC, but completely ignored what I had told them about the possible cause of the vibration, and upsold me a wheel alignment and complete overhaul of my brakes (which they said were the cause of the vibrations). $2,100 later, I had to turn around and drive it right back to the garage because the vibrations were still there. Turns out my guess of the reason was the correct one, but they were so confident in their analysis that they didn't bother to test drive and see if they fixed the issue. Another day, more repairs, being told this was somehow my fault, I ended up spending $2,800 because they wouldn't listen or bother to check their work. I'm not ever going back.

St. Laurent and Place d'Orleans are interchangeable for #3 and #4). The Bay (as most Canadians call it) at Bayshore and Rideau both have Opticals - the other Ottawa locations do not. If you wear glasses, don't overlook the Optical at The Bay, they have a good selection of frames. The one at Bayshore carries Milano 6769 Eyewear. Made in Italy (as the name suggests) and really funky styles. Their prices are really reasonable as well. The staff are friendly too. For fashions, The Bay at Bayshore is good. It's a smaller location than Rideau, but larger than St. Laurent or Place d'Orleans. The selection of formal and party dresses is much less than at Rideau. For purses they do carry a small selection of "Contemporary Brands" like Coach, but I haven't seen Kate Spade or Marc Jacobs, like at Rideau (St. Laurent and Place d'Orleans carry none of these brands). They have a very limited toy section, but their shoe department is a good size. The one thing that The Bay Bayshore has over The Bay Rideau is free parking, although the parking lot is a nightmare (which is the fault of Bayshore Mall management/owners for hiring the person/people who designed the parking lot and not the fault of The Bay - see my review of the Bayshore Shopping Centre for more details on my disdain for the parking lot, lol). This store is more neat, clean and upscale-ish, a la "Yorkville" (Toronto reference) and not like Adorit in the Byward Market (that also carries local and Canadian designs, and some of the same brands, like Miik) which is more, a la "Kensington Market" (sorry, another Toronto reference), but meaning more bohemian and smelling of patchouli. Prices are high, but your getting good quality and supporting the Canadian market.

I really had to control myself, or I would have had an empty wallet when I came out. I did see several dress options, but was tight on time, so I couldn't try anything on. One of the girls working in the store patiently showed me several dresses and answered all my questions about the designers and the store. The people who work here clearly know what they are talking about. It is also great that so many of the designs are by Canadian women! For someone who wants to dress artistically, this is the perfect spot to shop.
