There were so many incredible gems to be found, spanning every single genre. I ended up purchasing a couple of James Taylor records, a Bad Bunny record, Hilary Duff and an obscure country music record. They also had a very thick guide to the town of Andersonville available for free which I found just totally awesome. It was jam packed with info about a ton of local restaurants, activities and local events. The staff here were super knowledgeable, happy to help and downright great. I felt very happy to have found this gem of a place and will def be back the next time I'm in town.

They have a HUGE downstairs of somewhat cutout section prices, really $3 and up, but $10 for 3. Plus they have a turntable downstairs to cue up. Upstairs lots of inventory also, even lots of stuff outside. Just a diggers wet dream here. I got into Alchemist vibes here finding some Spanish singers records for the first time, now to collect. Elio Roca, Nelson Ned, and other rare artists like Pacific Gas and Electric. Now more stuff to collect! My specialty.

Unlike most stores with retro content, the workers were young and friendly. Maybe it's an overgeneralization but I usually expect any antique technology store to employ anti-social experts which is usually just fine with me. I would rather someone know their stock and the answer to by esoteric questions rather than someone with a fun personality. However, these two were very nice, and did seem to know pertinent stuff, and tolerated me singing along (badly) with the LP they were playing.. I got four old CDs, one which I just almost bought for $20 on Amazon for $2.00 TOTAL.

Vintage Vinyl is one of the only record stores where I could spend hours looking through the huge selection of original albums without worrying about not having a good time. Located off Elston, you'll have to find parking in the neighborhood behind it. You might get lucky and find street parking but on this day I was not. Once you find it (blink and you'll miss may miss it), you'll be met with loads of extreme music. Punk, hardcore, PV, grind, black metal and more are all here. Now, this isn't the biggest store but you're not going to find Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond or folk comps taking up space. I had my list together from a cart I made up on their website and they didn't have one. They bent over backwards to find it and in this case it will be shipped to my house at no extra charge. The customer service and friendliness of the staff was incredible. Prices were really good and the more you buy you get discounts! I wish I had a Meteor Gem close to my home. The selection is definitely for me. The service and prices were icing on the cake. If you're anywhere near Chicago and enjoy extreme metal and punk rock, MG should be on your visit list. We ventured to Bridgeport and we were lucky to find them open. I love finding stores like this because you have the opportunity to dig for the gems. The staff at Let's Boogie has been working dilligently to get the store more organized, and the items priced. There is stuff everywhere, from vintage vinyl, CD'S, tapes, DVDS and even VHS. They are still actively buying and getting new sealed albums also. I found a bunch of stuff I didn't know I was looking, and a few I left behind because I was over my budget. Prices are comparable to what you would find on Discogs but you may be able to work something out with the owner. Enjoy!! I know I did, and will definitely hit this spot again when I'm back in Chicago.
