I am a huge fan of Rouses Market and anytime that I am in this particular area of the southeastern United States, I often try to stop by a Rouses Market. The ambiance of Rouses Market is clean and inviting and the staff is always friendly and professional. Possibly my favorite part about Rouses Market is their local items. I just bought a fantastic locally made horseradish mustard. Absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend visiting this particular location of Rouses Market or any Rouses Market for that matter. I think I am a little confused. This is supposed to be a family owned and local products. Why is Starbucks in the store instead of CC's or PJ's? Employees even complain about the prices that they have to pay to get a tea or coffee. Coffee does not bring me into a store. I always check the weekly add to decide which store will get my weekly purchase. This store has a variety of local supplies. I just think management needs to spend time training a new employee. To many inconsistiencies. Some of the employees are so friendly and others are condesending towards the customer. Some will thank you and others scold you. Deli attitudes needs to be revamped. Too much chit chat amongst themselves and you have to wait til their conversation is over before you are greeted with a you need something today. I feel like saying no I'm waiting here for the bus. This Rouse's is on the location of the giant Schweggman's that was our main grocery when I was a kid...so it will always pale in comparison to those memories. This isn't my usual store but I end up stopping here when I need something on the run. They have a great wine selection and really good takeout. This is the most conveniently located Rouses for me to pick up dinner ingredients after work. The parking lot is much more easily accessible (read: less crowded) then Whole Foods or the one on Veterans. It has also been renovated and is very clean and spacious. I still don't understand how the produce section baskets are organized though. As mentioned earlier, there is a ridiculously huge wine and liquor selection. Yesterday, I wanted to buy a whole chicken and have it cut up for me but they didn't have any in the glass meat display (which is about half the size of the seafood display; go figure). The employee behind the counter asked if he could help me, told me to pick out a fryer and he would cut it and repackage it for me. So nice! I also noticed that they have many more pre-prepared foods (you know, like at WF, where veggies are pre-cut or meats are stuffed/marinated), but unlike the WF ones, they are much more regional in nature, such as boneless boudin-stuffed chickens. I bought some sausage-stuffed mushrooms that I can't wait to eat. The lines are never long indoors either. The prices aren't bad; it's not Walmart or Target cheap, of course, but they do make an effort to offer local and organic produce that is still very affordable. read more

This is one of my favorite Rouses locations... probably because it is one of the newest. The wine/beer selection is on par with the Carrollton and other large Rouses locations. They have a huge deli section complete with salad bar, olive bar, hot food, sandwiches, cheese, sushi, and more. The fruits, veggies, and meats are always fresh, as you would expect from Rouses. Some of the employees are friendlier than others, but hey, I expect that. I just wish they would keep those Hubig's Mini King Cakes stocked! I've been looking for them ever since someone spotted them here a couple of weeks ago, but no luck. Rouses still gets 5 stars since I'm well aware that Hubigs stocks their own products. read more

This is probably my favorite Rouses even though there is one closer to my house on Clearview Pkwy. I love going to this one because, no matter the time of day nor what mood they're in, the employees always manage to greet you or try to help you in one way or another. I especially enjoy having my weekly conversation with Gilishia, a regular Sunday cashier. She is always very cheery and friendly to her customers. This location is always well stocked and is always very clean and well kept. The vegetables are always fresh, and they are also well stocked with wine. (Important! ) Pay them a visit. I dont usually shop at Rouses but I was in a major rush trying to make it to get a few necessities before heading home. I had my toddler with me, who was in a mood. I was in such a mess and couldnt find my debit card but had the sweetest and most patient cashier, Madison. She helped assure me that I was not being a burden while her line was piling up so I could take my time and find my card to complete the transaction. She distracted my son while I searched my purse. It was so nice having a kind sweet person keep me calm while still treated me like a valued customer. I dont usually write reviews but I felt it necessary to recognize an employee who goes the extra mile for the company she works for. This is the supermarket I visit most often. It is very nice to have a local company provide a nice, clean, well stocked store. They have a nice selection of fresh fruits and vegetable and i enjoy their choice of sliced cold cuts. Both their store brand and more expensive brand, Columbus, are good choices. Their baked goods are exceptional, don't skip the Berry Gentilly. It is as good as its competitor at WF. You know you're in a hometown store when you walk up to someone boiling seafood outside the front door and selling it to you fresh, along with all the boil fixins. I love to buy just the fixns sometimes for a fun snacks. There is a nice beer and wine selection. The walk in cooler of chilled wine in beer is an added bonus. As is the pre-prepared food section. Lots of choices to buy ready made foods to go. Thoughout this store you will find a good selection of items and the prices are reasonable. Service is usually good. There are times it can be difficult to find someone if you're having trouble locating an item. read more

Someone had a genius idea to duct tape up a board which fell on me while I was standing in line and made me scream out in pain. The girl in the checkout line said it had also fallen in her but the management didn't care. I asked for the manager and she finally got to me after almost 25 minutes. She began to fill out the accident report with had the most I don't give a shit attitude in the world. I waited for a follow up but never got one. I went back to the store and they told me to call a guy named Danny. I called him and left him 6 voicemails and he never responded. It is clear the fact that I was hurt is unimportant to him. I went back to the store again and asked who I could talk to to help me. One of the workers began blatantly laughing at me as I was talking to a manager. He said "what do you really think is going to happen?" It's clear rouses doesn't give a shit about their customers and I have shopped there my entire life. I asked to talk to Donny Rouse but no one has his phone number apparently. Not even the store manager. There is no reason to be treated like this especially from a local business. Rouses in New Orleans on Tchoup... sucks. I'd rather stick an ice pick in my ears than go back there. Waited 35 minutes to check out in the "fast" line. If there are parade's today then why in God's name would you only have a hand full of registers open?! I think a high school student could run this store better. And the woman operating the register only had one speed, slow. So if you insist on shopping here on your lunch break like me and you only have 30 minutes like me prepare to eat your lunch while you wait in the SLOWEST checkout line ever. I'm just disgusted with this experience. I honestly could care less if a hole opened up in the ground underneath this Rouses store and swallowed it up. I think the owners should consider firing the entire stores lineup of employees from management down to the cashiers and hire a whole new roster. 8/1/2022. I've never written a review. I'd accept the wrong groceries, pay for them and restrict my ordering process. But this I must speak on. All I wanted was the lightly breaded green beans. My neighbor had just purchased them and I wanted to try them. The shopper asked me about everything else you didn't have. But not the two items I wanted the most. I don't even light green beans. I know you had them. And I know Rouses had the apples I requested. Long before our country began experiencing the problems we're having. Rouses supposedly, "professional shoppers" have always taken the easy route and chose not to take the time to get it correct. I won't hold this against the driver and shorten his/her tip. But I do hold Rouses responsible. Prices increasingly higher and my funds has not increased at all. Rouses should reevaluate this process even more now than ever. I'm very disappointed !!! This Rouses is a total disappointment, and there is no excuse! Their deli is pitiful - hardly ever has food and the food they have is left over from the day before. The employees in the deli are rude. Rotisserie chickens are good, If you can get one, they don't make enough during the day. I've gone a few times after work to get one for dinner and there's none you would think that they would make a new batch for the after work crowd. I used to be able to get the best fried chicken at Rouses. most of the time all they have is packaged dark meat pieces. No chicken breasts. The worst part is that the store has become a total Rouses brand store. They rarely have any of the name brands and I've tried some of the Rouses brands and they're not good. They are low on stock. Grocery buggies are filthy. This store is really poorly run compared to the other Rouses. I live nearby, and I have been going to the store for many years. It has gone down considerably. ever since they started to remodel this location the store has become disorganized dirty and disgusting. the food is always out of date lately and the deli has flies and the deli worker lady never wipes down or cleans the meat slicer and she doesn't date the meat when she puts it back into the cooler after cutting it and she's extremely rude making you wait when there's no other customers and doesn't even acknowledge you at all. the parking lot here is also terrible I see wrecks occur there very often. read more

The Clearview store is my typical stop, however once in a while I will stop at this location. This morning I stopped and went directly to the Fresh Food/Deli area. There were 5 ladies chit-chatting. I waved and asked if anyone could help me and they looked past me as if I were invisible. Some of the ladies looked at each other with a "you gonna help her" attitude. After my second attempt...I finally went ahead to gather the rest of my groceries. I decided to stop again before checking out and and there were 2 ladies and then again there was no acknowledgement! We always have crayfish on Saturday before Easter and I made the mistake of getting them at Rouse. Rouse advertises fresh boiled crawfish and I bought twelve pounds of hot boiled crayfish but I don't think they were fresh. Because these crayfish were hot, I think they reheated crayfish boiled yesterday and sold them as fresh hot. They were mushy and you couldn't get out a whole tail without one end breaking off and getting 'smooshed'. The potatoes were huge potatoes cut in half rather than small red or white potatoes, they were raw in the middle. The whole experience was terrible. read more

I definitely like this rouses not just for the convenience but for the vast selection. I am not just talking about the selection of seafood or the salad bar. What I am talking about is the shear selection of booze! I mean they got more booze here than the average liquor store does. Once in a while when I got there they offer free samples of wine, and wine coolers. I just wished they offered free samples of whiskey! But I doubt that will happen. Its as close to whole foods as youre going to get-if thats your thing. This location carries more organic options, more fresh fish , finer wine, fresh cheeses, more options of everything in general ! I stop at this Rouse's location pretty often as its on my way home from work. What I like most about this location is that they always seem to have a quick check out process compared to other locations I go to. They also seem to always have a better selection of seafood and have a higher quality choice of cooked seafood items than any other Rouse's in the area. This place is always busy but the wait at the deli counter for sandwich meat is usually significantly faster than at the Tchoupitoulas location. I like the efficiency of this store. read more

I like this Rouses too! This one always seems nicer than the one on Vets near Causeway. They seem to have more stuff and nicer stuff. The Airline location also has a much larger beer & wine section that the Causeway/Vets location. I agree that Rouses is a little bit more expensive than some of the other places but not dealing with those little cards works for me. As far as a regular old grocery store I think this one is the best and the reason I give it 4 stars is because it isn't Whole Foods. Then again, Whole Foods can be so pricey you just can't do all your shopping there. read more

This rouses is newer than many in the area and pretty nice. The bakery, meat area, dairy and wine sections are the nicest. I find the workers are hi or miss. Sometimes they are super friendly and helpful, and sometimes they continue to have their own conversations and ignore that you are standing right there. This grocery store is close to my home and work. It is a good medium size neighborhood grocery store. Not usually too overpacked with customers. Pretty laid back grocery shopping with a decent selection of everyday items. Good alcohol and basic food and house products selection. Specialty foods like specific vegetables or specific fish might not be found here like they would at Whole Foods but shopping and parking here is much more laid back. read more

This is now the third Rouses that has become my main go-to place for groceries. I really love the giant deli & prepared food section and the wine, beer & spirits selection (especially that walk in cooler). Produce is always fresh and plentiful, prices are low, and weekly deals are great. Personally, I like the Pick 5 deal on meat combined with their regular 10 for $10 deals on sides and frozen veg. read more

Although we shop at all the Rouses, this one is my favorite!!! I love the greeter in the mornings, he always has a smile on his face and always has compliments to share. The employees are always willing to help. I'm not big on grocery shopping but this store makes it a pleasant experience for me. It beats the pants off ANY Walmart super center.
