The outside is very eclectic and fits the vibe of the town. Inside is a very small, single room store with limited items. The majority of the goods for sale were records and miniature cars. There were a few glass items and posters as well. The inside had an odd aroma of cigarettes and weed. A small room off the main room had a curtain over the door that was pulled back to reveal a bedroom with mattresses on the floor and crying children. I'm not sure if it doubles as a day care, or a home. It's a small town and a small business, but it honestly was a little frightening and off putting. They were having a "keeping the doors open" sale, so I understand they're struggling. Perhaps a formal door, a deep cleaning, and a more diverse collection of second hand items would draw in tourists who came to tour the quirky town that inspired Cars.

They were selling Route 66 Centennial Danzeisen Dairy bottles for $14.95 and $19.95 that I recently purchased at the grocery store with milk or half-and-half in them for $4.49 and $4.99. J & J Antiques sits at the edge of Cottonwood's Old Town and looks from the outside like a relic from the gold rush era (which it probably is). Inside, it's a seemingly never-ending warren of what can only be called "shops". You know, an antique collective filled with little stalls, each specializing in whatever oddity the vendor sees fit to hunt down and resell. There's everything in here from the booth reselling Scrabble tiles to the guy reselling irons. I walked out of here with 3 unique necklaces for what I thought to be a most reasonable price but that's only because I exercised restraint. In today's disposable culture, these kind of shops are in sharp decline. I might not want all of the stuff on display here but I sure do want to look at it all. Cottonwood's historic district is filled with similar shops but J & J Antiques is the first place I'd send you to. They literally have everything a shop like this should. Great place.
