We came here for dinner not knowing that the Killers were playing at the stadium nearby. It was packed when we went there but they were able to accommodate us without a reservation for 5 ppl in less than 20 min. It's your typical bar scene but they have happy hour everyday from 3-7 PM including weekends. We were seated 8 min until 7 and the waitress wasted no time taking our drink orders. We wanted to try their entrees but because the Killers were nearby they only had bar food. We all got burgers. I got the Rove burger deluxe medium rare with a side salad. It was cooked to perfection. Everyone else also said their burgers were delicious. The venue itself is pretty small so I would not recommend groups larger than 6.
Lots of seating on a Monday night. Easy ordering process, and quick service food came out within 10 minutes. Burger was great for the price/ area, definitely higher end quality than your normal diner. While the menu isn't anything fancy, it gets the job done for a quick bite to eat.
Could not see if I've reviewed this place before, but I might've. It's a local regular favorite for our family. Everything I have ever had here has been great. Usually burger or salmon, and a salad plus drinks...I rely on the staff to tell me if what I am in the mood for on the menu is great or not but everything is. The owner in the staff have become friends with whom I will watch a game. The drinks are always on point. And it's a nice small bar, where they actually interact with you like a human being. The bathrooms are nice and clean. Never been in the kitchen, but from the meticulous way, they keep the bar I assume it is very well kept as well. While, I don't go out of my way to come here, whether it's brunch, lunch, dinner, or just drinks, my experience has always been positive here.... and the price always seems fair.
I really wanted to give this place five stars, but I couldn't as I kept thinking about the service. It was lacking in so many ways. I would ask for this, and that and the server would forget, and by the time he came back, it was too late. I asked for water twice, and this one I really wanted, but it didn't come until later on. Since we were outside on a trivia night, we were hardly seen and couldn't be seated indoors as all were filled up. My friend said that it's always like this no matter. I even had to ask if we could order and etc.. it would be great if there were more waitstaff on hand. Unto the food, which was pretty good. We got three appetizers, such as the chili and steak nachos medium-sized (we finished this up really fast). The brussel sprouts & bacon was the second best, and they didn't skimp on the bacon. Last but not least, the Cajun chicken skewers were tasty, and it came in three sticks. Only ordered one entree as it was a lot of food. The shrimp risotto was very tasty and plenty for us to share. We were so full and satisfied after the meal that I would like to go back another time.
Sunday brunch with some friends after church was lovely. Service was wonderful despite many requests from my friend which would've made me upset as server. Food was good - I had the Rove omelette with sour dough bread. I was really hungry when I went so I'm not sure how it would be if I weren't starving. I'd go back again. The steak and eggs my friend had with a salad looked so much better. read more
Met a friend here for Sunday brunch here and even though I forgot to take a pic of my eggs Benedict it was DELICIOUS! I ate the entire plate bc it was so yummy! Service was nice. I got there first and got a table for two and waitress asked me if I wanted a drink b4 my friend got there. I just got a cranberry pineapple mix and they accommodated. I did take a pic of inside. Glad I finally ate and checked out Rove. It was a very intimate at the same time festive sort of ambiance. read more
Decided to stop here for happy hour on a Friday and thank God I did. They were one of the only places I liked on Austin st doing a happy hour at the time! The food was delicious. Burger was cooked to perfection and the sautéed mushrooms and goat cheese was a combination I didn't know I needed. The Friday special was "fish and chips" and it was pretty tasty but I wish the fries were a little bit more jazzed up. The fish was perfect though (also wish they gave me one more piece but I could be being greedy lol). The happy hour drinks DID NOT disappoint. They were pretty strong and only $8 (there are cheaper drink options available as well). Ambiance was cool, it was your standard bar and they have two sides. Service was amazing; both waitresses were super attentive and working both sides by themselves. Everything came out fast and fresh. read more

Stopped in for food and drinks on a Thursday night. Was quite busy for trivia night but the staff was super accommodating in squeezing us at a table and then moving to a more comfortable one once it started clearing out. Drinks were good, food was solid for a bar - had the chicken quesadilla, chicken tacos, Parmesan fries, and hummus plate to split amongst ourselves. All in all, a solid choice on Austin Street with reasonable prices and great staff. read more

We came to Rove on a whim because I was unsure of what I wanted to eat for our traditional Friday Date Night. We didn't have reservations, but were seated right away. We were attended to immediately but were unsure of what to order so we took a couple of minutes to peruse the menu. We kept it light because we had tickets to see The Invisible Man at 7:15pm. We ordered The Classic Cheese Burger w. Sweet Potato Fries, Mozzarella Sticks w. Regular Marinara Sauce, and a Mexican Quesadilla. We also had Amstel Light and a Rum & Coke from the HH Menu. It's a casual and quaint restaurant offering a little something for everyone. I appreciate that their menu is simple offering, starters, mains, happy hour, and brunch. The food was good, but it took forever to get a check. We were on a time constraint so we couldn't have more rounds of drinks. For starters they have the Soup Of The Day, Braised Beef Buns, Hummus Platter, Fried Mac & Queso Balls, Mexican Quesadillas, Fried Calamari, Mozzarella Sticks, Chili Nachos (Chili & Steak, or Chili & Chicken) Chicken Wings, Spinach & Artichoke Dip, Mini Meatball Sandwiches, and the ROVE Combo Platter. Their salads include the Rove salad, Grilled Salmon Salad, and a Ribeye Steak Salad For their main they have Burgers, French Dip Sandwich, Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Breakfast Burger, Risotto, Salmon, Chicken Parm, Steak Frites, Various Sides, and Dessert. read more

We love Rove! I have been going there since they opened. It's our go to place in the neighborhood. We love the food, the drinks, the staff. Some of my favorite things from the menu are the chicken nachos, I cannot express how amazing the chips are, they have better chips than some of the Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood. I love the salmon salad, the dressing it comes with is divine. The chicken skewers are great. Those are the main dishes I get, I've had other things which are really good, however I kind of can't help but constantly get the nachos. My husband loves the burger, quesadillas. But besides all that, we love the chill atmosphere and the music they play, lots of 90s which is what we grew up with, so there is some nostalgia. Rove is definitely our comfort place. Solid bar food and nice atmosphere at this inclusive and friendly neighborhood bar. The smell of stale smoke, colorful Pride flags, and a really nice smile greeted us as we entered. My black bean burger and sweet potato fries were delicious and fresh. The sangria likely from a bottle, with no fresh fruit. Worth the stop in for sure. read more
The service was amazing, friendly owner, and we were seated immediately at 11 on a Saturday. The covid seating was especially of note with plastic walls betweens the tables which was very nice. Unfortunately, my dish was very lackluster. I ordered the special of the day which was an omelette with feta cheese, kale, and sausage. The sausage slices were just placed on top and not cooked within and there was very little feta. I did replace the hash with more salad. For $22 (tip and tax included), I was really hoping for more of a dish. I left still hungry. read more

I haven't been to Rove since before the pandemic. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and a daily drink happy hour until 7. The service is friendly and the prices are reasonable given our inflationary times. I had the grilled chicken sandwich platter ($17) which included a side salad. The chicken, was on a brioche bun and was quite good (4.5) and the salad was solid (4). My dining companion's string fries ($5) were OK (3.5) and I had a taste of the happy hour Cabernet ($7) which was better than most happy hour wines (4). Their wines are well priced outside of happy hour as well at $9 or $10. Happy hour beer is $6 (regularly $7+) and they offer a mixed drink happy hour as well. Overall, Rove is a good, welcoming neighborhood place. Inside was packed on a Friday night and I can see why. I can see how it's a place one would frequent regularly to have a good meal, drink, and laugh and feel at home. Great vibes here. read more

Stumbled upon this lovely little Brunch place and decided to give it a try~~ Tho I say brunch but for me it was literally my lunch and first meal of the day. And beginning to be on a low carb life style, it may not seem ideal that I'm gunna be showing you bread, potatoes, English muffins and drinks, but it's my one day a week to enjoy carbs but not over eating. Now that I'm done babbling let's dive right into the food~~~~ We got the passion fruit mimosa and the grapefruit fizz ( with pineapple juice, grapefruit liquor, orange wedge, guava juice). Then we got the eggs Benedict and the steak and frites. The Fuzzy Slippers was really good. It had the right amount of kick and the right amount of fruitiness for me to drank drank~~~~ even though there are many fruit juice in there the dominate flavor was grapefruit and if u love grapefruit then it shouldn't be an issue. Now on to the passion fruit mimosa. You could say I was disappointed because I was expecting that PUNCH of Passion Fruit flavor in the mimosa. If you ever had a Passion Fruit Fruit u know what I mean, the sweetness and the sourness and the tartness. And I don't mean Passion Fruit syrup. So knowing what a passion fruit taste like I just didn't think this mimosa tasted like it. And I couldn't really put my finger on what it tasted like. But this is just my OPINION. Moving on to the food. The steak and frites are your standard steak and frites. It comes with a slice of bread ( your choice) and 2 eggs( how ever u like). It tasted really good. The only thing I would have liked was for the fries to be a little more fluffier in the middle instead of crunchy through out the whole fries. The Egg Benediction was PERFECTION !!!!! The English muffin was crunchy, the eggs were soft and super runny and it collected in the books and crannies of the English muffin. And the house potato hash was soooooo goooodddd!!! And a small salad on the side to help make it feel healthy. The decor of the place and the sunlight coming in was super duper pretty. I would come back again and def get the egg Benny and the Fuzzy Slippers and try other things on the menu!! read more

Came here for happy hour. Service was excellent. Got the meatballs. They were a bit small but tasty and good for the price. My friends had the wings which were also tasty and pretty big and also decent for the price for the area. The beer selection for happy hour is very reasonably priced, but there is not that much on draft. You will have to settle for cans / beers which isn't so bad. Overall a pretty cool place to check out for happy hour. Would probably come back! read more
It was the first day of Autumn, and it was glorious - around 70 degrees, sunny and partly cloudy to keep things comfortable. Having tried Jack and Nellie's a couple of times thought it would be good to check out their younger sibling Rove. Walking into the former Bonfire space I see things are much improved - the look has more natural elements and not that bright orange color I remember. It was not too crowded so we took a table right by the large open window in the dining room. We tucked into a pair of super comfortable fuzzy slippers (delicious!) as we decide on our dishes. The brunch drink prices are completely reasonable @ $4-6, which I like better than an unlimited pay one price option. I also order a coffee, which is served in a to go cup. I order the chicken and waffles and it's a solid version with chicken strips that are crisp and juicy, with maple syrup and chicken gravy. I note that there are 3/4 of a whole circle of waffle on my plate so after tasting I assume the chef keeps the other 1/4 for themselves as a snack. I add Tabasco to the syrup and gravy so this dish has all the flavors going on. The arugula salad is nice and fresh, excellent dressing and the addition of chopped bacon makes this an outstanding salad. Service was excellent, the space inviting, the drinks strong and delicious and the large open window making for just a great brunch experience. I am sure to be back to Rove soon! read more

Rove is the fun little sister of Jack & Nellie's! This is a small spot with a youthful vibe and it is a really good brunch spot! Brunch is normally served on weekends and also on Holiday Monday's. My companion and I snatched a table just before 12:00 pm and before the crowd started coming in. Service was really friendly and upbeat, I like that. My companion and I each ordered our own brunch entrees - Eggs Benedict and Two Eggs Any Style. Both brunch entrees come with red potato hash and arugula. We also got a side of Slab Bacon (Best thing ever! Get it!!!) and avocado to accompany our big appetite. Eggs Benedict was amazingly good! Poached Eggs were perfectly cooked with the yolk oozing out as you poke into it. Hollandaise sauce was the perfect amount, it was light but flavorful and topped with green onions. I would definitely order this again! Red Hash Potatoes had good slab bacon flavor and I would like it more if it was just a tad softer. Two Eggs Any Style with your choice of Slab Bacon and Pork Sausage. Perfectly cooked sunnyside up with red hash potatoes and arugula. It comes with your choice of meat and bread - wheat, rye, baguette, or muffin. This is a good dish for anyone who wants a lighter breakfast without sacrificing the taste. This is no ordinary dish!!! A side of Slab Bacon was the best decision we made that day! Thick-cut, crunchy smoked bacon. It was so good!!! Overall, I loved my brunch experience here and I can't wait to come back!!! Rove is a cute little restaurant right on Austin St in Forest Hills. It has a rustic modern feel to it and the decor is mostly landmarks in Queens. Its very nice! Its a very small restaurant and i think it would be hard to seat a large group of people. Luckily for me, i went with a friend on a Sunday after church at around noon. It wasn't busy when we got there but it quickly filled up after we got a table The food is extremely good. I got the eggs benedict. It was excellent. It came with a side of home fries and arugula. The eggs was perfectly poached and the home fries were good. To be honest, that dish was one ot the best I've ever had. My friend ordered the salmon omelet which i tried. It was very good but im not a big fan of fish in an omelet. The french fries were fresh, hot and crispy! I had never tried a pineapple mimosa. I have to say, it was really good!! Our server was the sweetest girl ever. She was very attentive and fast. She knew the menu well and recommended the pineapple mimosa. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll be back! read more

After missing brunch at Jane & Jackie's my friend and I found Rove via the Yelp app. I'm not familiar with this section of Queens, but this had to be the cutest block of businesses ever lol. Everything looks gothic and unique. Inside the restaurant reminds me of a gothic-medieval style of design; kind of like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Walking into the restaurant, it was a bit empty which might tack on some fears for some, but brunch was winding down so that may have explained it. We were seated close to a big window that gave us a beautiful peak into neighborhood and shed some light into the establishment. Once seated, we began our meal with an appetizer of Jerk Chicken thighs. We had missed brunch but luckily, dinner service starts immediately after. The Jerk Chicken thighs were so-so. The seasoning reminded me of the commercial jar that you purchase in a store that vaguely reminds you of Jerk sauce, but it's not it. It didn't taste like an authentic jerk rub seasoning; but maybe that's the Jamaican in me lol. I did however, like the crispy texture and the accompanying mango Salsa but otherwise, I would pass on this next time around. For entrees', I ordered the 'Classic Cheeseburger' with fries and a side of chipotle mayo. The burger was awesome! Very flavorful, juicy, and made just as requested. The ingredients were also fresh and paired on a nicely toasted bun. One word, heaven. My friend had the Rove burger (black bean burger) which the waitress noted was a popular item. My friend raved about it saying that it was definitely a good choice. We did not have any drinks, straight water. Service was also very good. The waitress was attentive, very welcoming, and knew the menu pretty well. The atmosphere was bland but I think that was due to the rainy weather and early dining. Be sure to check out their happy hour specials and events, they have some exciting things going on every so often. Would I recommend this spot to other? Yessir! read more

I've been coming to Rove for a little over a year now, and the food doesn't disappoint. It's a great casual place for dinner or happy hour - I wouldn't say I'd come here just for drinks as the vibe is more low key. Their biggest perk is happy hour is until 8PM so you get great deals late. The restaurant area is dimly lit with candles so it can have a romantic tone if you want it to, but still great for a dinner with family or friends. More of an American style menu choice, so you have a variety of everything, which I love, especially for groups and cost range. Tons of apps - I personally like the spinach artichoke dip, which is still light enough to eat a meal. The salmon entree or mushroom risotto are both my go to because they are so tasty! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a casual dinner with a warm energy. read more
