After having a horrible experience at another facility, I was wary of entrusting my dogs somewhere else. I recently had to go out of town and couldn't take my dogs with me so I had to find a new place. I remembered seeing a feature on Rowdy Dogs on one of the news stations before the holidays. I went out to take a tour of the facility and as I pulled in, I was greeted by the owner's beautiful Ibizan Hounds and Whippets in the enclosed front yard. When I walked into the main building, I was welcomed by the owner, Nancy and was given a tour of the entire business. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facility as whole. This not only included the main building and boarding areas, but all of the outside enclosures as well. The boarding areas and their individual attached outside yards are very nice sized. After I described the bad experience I had at Le Chateau Pet Resort, where a known aggressive and intact male dog was put into a play group with mine and bit one of my dog's ear off, I was assured that dog's wouldn't be put in groups like that at Rowdy Dog's because of safety concerns. FINALLY...someone in the pet care industry in Amarillo that understands pet behavior!!! A couple of weeks after my initial visit, I boarded my dogs there. I was again greeted by Nancy who took inventory of all of the items I brought for their stay and made sure she had all of their feeding instructions and vaccination records. We then took them back to their reserved area where I said good bye and headed out of town. Even though I was very happy with everything I had seen at Rowdy Dogs, I was still apprehensive because of my previous experience. I was put at ease later in the day when I received a text message from Nancy with a photo of my dogs playing and having a great time! When I went to pick them up, I met Nancy's husband, Kentt, who told me how much they enjoyed having my dogs there. They may say that to everyone, but they really meant it about my dogs! He and Nancy also mentioned things about the personalities of my dogs and their play styles that told me they spent a good deal of time with them during their stay. The pricing is very reasonable for what you get. Nancy and Kentt are both very personable and I will continue to support and use Rowdy Dogs anytime I need to leave my dogs overnight. read more

We used Rowdy Dogs Pet Resort over spring break for our dogs and our daughter's dogs. We were gone 10 days for a family cruise. We took our dogs for a "preplacement visit" prior to leaving so they at least knew what the place "looked/smelled like! The owners were very welcoming and eager to be of service. The facility is very clean. The long dog runs give the "little people with fur" lots of room to run back and forth. It seemed everything went well for our babies. Since we were paying for 4 dogs for over a week, Rowdy Dogs was more affordable for us than another facility we used previously. We have made reservations for our dogs again for an upcoming trip the first week of July 2014. When I called, Nancy remembered us and made the reservation quickly. We have boarded our dogs at several other places in Amarillo, but none can compare to the attention to cleanliness and the love and care our dogs get at Rowdy Dogs. I have boarded as many as four dogs at a time with Nancy and Kentt. My dogs have a good size indoor area and nice long runs. My fur babies get to play in the yard with other dogs and there's no extra charge for letting them out to play unlike other boarding facilities in Amarillo. I boarded my seven week old puppy, Yeti, with Kentt and Nancy the day after he came home because we had not other options. She made sure he was kept away from the other dogs until such time as he had his second round of shots. We had no problems at all except that she spoiled him rotten. Our rescue baby, Reese, loves Rowdy Dogs so much. If we get in the car and go somewhere other than Rowdy Dogs, she begins to whine when she realizes we're not headed for Rowdy Dogs. I'm pretty sure Kentt, Nancy, Karlee and Linda love Yeti and Reese as much as we do. We have referred numerous friends and associates to Rowdy Dogs and they have all told us how pleased they were and how much their dog(s) loved it. Rowdy Dogs is the best of the best!!! read more
