Dr. Roith came across as a very experienced and calm doctor who genuinely cares about all his patients with an great, caring, and a little jovial bedside manner. I went to my appointment with the thought of removing the toenail, as per all the previous doctors I had shown it to - NP, PCP and even Dermatologists and he made me feel at ease and told me not to worry, and that we will work on it with his treatment (so practical and easy to follow) to eradicate the issue. I left the appointment feeling confident and worry free. The staff was very sweet and guided me well. The clinic was clean and organized. Highly recommended!

I went to my primary care physician and another podiatrist and received unsatisfactory recommendations. I was then referred to Dr. Roith and immediately appreciated the way he looked for and addressed the "root cause" of my foot pain and developed a surgical plan accordingly, as a final resort. That foot surgery was nothing short of life-changing. Now in my twenties, I am living a very active, pain-free life, and am able to do all things I missed out on as a teenager due to foot pain. So grateful for Dr. Roith and this practice!

They did not tell me first of all that I would not be able to metabolize a medication I was taking and I would almost die of an overdose. Then I had a staple found in my stomach and an endoscopy that they did. And they charged me for it. Finally, my stomach has never been the same. I have so much more acid, difficulty digesting, constantly feeling nauseous after I eat. Just a lot of different complications. I do take licorice root of all things and this does help my stomach some. Plus, I have medication for nausea now. But it's not fun going through pain every single day after you eat no matter how much you eat. I even had trouble taking pills now. I would not recommend these people. I think this is a chop shop to tell you the truth. They do more procedures at this office than any other office in the United States. What should that tell you? I figured they know what they were doing, but I think I was wrong.

Let me preface my comments here with the fact that I think gastric bypass surgery was the best…read morething that ever happened to me -- I just wish I'd known from the beginning that this was a Lot more complicated than they Ever told me. I had gastric bypass surgery in February of 2013. At the age of 48. When I originally started the process I was 5'2 and 346#. At the time of surgery I was about 20# less. Dr Hoen is an excellent surgeon, an his team is great as well. I will say the appt scheduling, front desk staff and billing staff are less than exceptional. At that time the did have the seminars - and they made the whole process sound painless and either glossed over or skipped completely the less savory parts. I remember being told the process would eliminate things like gremlin - that hunger pangs would go away forever. This might be the case during the honeymoon period but they do return long term. I after a few follow up surgeries- hernia, strictures, etc I did reach a low of about 150, the goal originally set. At that time I was ready for a pannicolectomy - during the seminar they promised they would have a surgeon on staff to do such surgeries-- they did not. Instead I went to a plastic surgeon and had an "outpatient procedure." The evening after I developed a hemorrhage and was back in the hospital on life support. After this I was in the hospital for a week and in rehab for 6 weeks. Right after I has recovered from that I had another hernia operation, which one of the bariatric surgeons did "open surgery" which completely destroyed my newly rebuilt belly button. Not long after that I had another hernia surgery by the same bariatric doctor, where he repaired the hernia an the placed a mesh patch over it. During all of this I experienced the same compassionate care from the surgeons and their support staff, and the same frustrating front desk indifference. After all this, I was down to 135 and looked like I was on the verge of death. People would come up to me in public and off to "help" me because they thought I looked too weak to manage on my own. I have in last couple of years regained some weight and am currently trying to lose it again.

I am sharing this to help others make informed decisions. I spent nearly a week in the ICU with four broken ribs and never received a clear explanation as to why this happened. I had to take 8 weeks of unpaid leave under FMLA to recover, which caused serious financial strain. Despite this experience, I decided to try the procedure again in April 2025 at a different facility with Dr Park. Unfortunately, I experienced another serious complication. While recovering, it was discovered that Dr. Park had accidentally nicked an artery in my leg, causing a massive hematoma. I had to undergo emergency surgery by a vascular surgeon, and what should have been an overnight stay turned into another week in the hospital, followed by another 3 weeks of unpaid leave. Since then, I have made multiple attempts to speak with Dr. Park or someone in his office regarding what happened, the impact it's had on my health and finances, and my questions about billing. I was told I would not be allowed to speak with him, and no one has returned my three calls. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of accountability and communication. These complications -- both life-threatening -- and the complete absence of follow-up care or explanation are unacceptable. I personally believe Dr. Park takes on too much and moves too quickly, which may have contributed to the errors in my care. Please be cautious if you are considering this provider. My experience has been physically, emotionally, and financially devastating, and I am still dealing with the aftermath.

While I was hospitalized at Overland Park Regional Medical Center last year Dr. Adam Kaye did the…read moresurgical procedure to insert a central catheter line (perma-port) to be used as an easy intravenous access site during my upcoming chemo treatments. It's a very quick and simple procedure, but not without some risk because the surgeon needs to be careful that the wires that are part of the apparatus don't actually touch the heart muscle as it's being inserted. In this case everything went fine and there were no problems with the insertion. Approximately a year later the perma-port stopped working properly, and I had completed the chemo treatments, so I had Dr. Kaye remove it at the beginning of April. This was another relatively simple procedure, done at the Overland Park Surgery Center under local anesthesia. It did involve a bit more tugging and pulling than I anticipated, but there was nothing painful about it. My only subsequent concern was that a good-sized lump developed afterwards under the incision that was fairly tender to the touch and looked bruised. Follow-ups with Dr. Kaye (a really nice, cheerful guy, by the way) were reassuring -- sometimes after this kind of procedure where there's a remaining pocket under the skin, where the port had been located, fluid can accumulate during the healing process. There was no infection, the small incision itself has healed nicely, and a month or so later the lump is now considerably smaller as the fluid is being reabsorbed and it's no longer tender. I just saw Dr. Kaye again to check, and he recommended hot compresses on the site to accelerate the shrinking of the remaining lump. That's certainly no big deal to do! I appreciate Dr. Kaye's accessibility and his willingness and ability to explain what was going on, both before the procedure and during the healing process. I've been fortunate to have never had any other surgeries, but that means that I didn't know exactly what to expect at each stage and Dr. Kaye's been good about explaining what I needed to know. Considering this experience, I'd be happy to have Dr. Kaye again as my surgeon if I ever need to have something done, and I can recommend him to others who may need surgery.
