Shockingly bad service, drinks, and prices. Avoid at all costs. As a dive bar aficionado, it takes a lot to scare me off. Roxy's did it. I walked in and ordered a well whisky & coke. Tasted strange so I asked for a shot glass with just their cola. Cola was room temp and taste was WAY off. Bartender offered to replace the drink - I thanked her and asked for whiskey rocks instead. Their well whisky was drinkable. Barely. I came to find out later, when I closed out, that their well whisky was $5.75... More than I can pay for an old fashioned in Southtown!! On top of the malfunctioning soda gun and crazy prices, the one young lady behind the counter never once spoke to me other than when I flagged her down. No small talk, no nothing. She spent the entire time I was there speaking with her girlfriends at the other end of the bar. And to be clear, there were maybe 5 patrons total in the entire space - she had plenty of time to engage with her customers. The only saving grace was the quality 90s and early 2000s country the few patrons in the place were playing on the jukebox. Good tunes! read more

Honestly Erica the bartender was the best! Great bartender friendly, attentive, and clearly knows their craft. Drinks were made quickly and tasted excellent, and they handled a busy bar with ease. Made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. Would definitely come back. read more

I mean I came here a long time ago before Yelp and it's still really cute, it's a decent sized bar with live DJ on Saturdays, the prices aren't bad though like pretty reasonable, they acknowledge you pretty quick if you just give them a moment so the service is good, I don't think they have any food cause I haven't seen anything but Whataburger is across the street you should come by if you're looking for something cute read more

Not an organized establishment when it comes to employees. They own dilos, fizz, la chingada bars. (Maybe is why) if you fuck up they will throw you under the bus instead of helping you progress.... There was this one night where they sent me home and a previous manager told me to call batista (the owner) to explain what happened and he didn't care to hear what I had to say.... first, he posted me in the group about me being toxic for trying to reach him. he then said " I thought it was very immature of you to post about Coyote Ugly girls" I said back "I thought it was very immature of you to post me in the group chat for clout about being toxic when a simple text back would've been wiser as an owner. He replied with " that's not my fuckup & let me go for pettyness. Mid convo he kept telling me "go back to coyote ugly then" I can't tell if the owner is insecure or immature. Been coming to this bar for years sad to say it's just not the same. Came in with a co worker to have a beer some guy wearing a staff shirt basically told us where to sit! We ordered 2 Dos Equis draft totally taste like water!! At $7.75 a pop so not worth it. Just find another bar and save your money! read more

I always go when Crystal is there because she is the BEST! I will keep coming to this place because it has pool tables , popcorn , DJ , jute box , clean restrooms and a basket ball hoop . I know this is a dive bar so the best service is not expected but last night we were talked to SO ugly I was SHOCKED. We have been to this bar a couple times before last night, never had an issue. Even just a few weeks ago we stopped in for some drinks and ended up staying there ALL night. But then last night, we ordered our first beer and before we were even halfway done, the bouncer came straight up to my husband and I, looked him dead in his face (and got too close of you ask me) and aggressively said "y'all need to leave." And just pointed at my husbands face tattoo. (Which mind you, the guard had a dermal on his face so he looked just as out of "dress code") We were confused because we were there minding our own business and never had been kicked out for it before. The face tattoo is about a cenimeter big and is a Chinese symbol for "warrior" - nothing gang related. My husband told the bouncer "we JUST ordered this beer, just let us finish it really quick" and so the bouncer came up right behind us and took a defense keychain out of his pocket and started dangling it, which obviously made me uncomfortable. We tried to nicely ask the reasoning behind getting kicked out and the bouncers EXACT words to us were "WE DONT LIKE YOUR KIND HERE." Wow!!! This bar staff is not too friendly or very observant. This was not the first time i visit Roxy's and there are no lines to get a drink and yet it takes forever to get the wait staffs attention. The only reason i went was because my friends invited and i wanted to get them another chance. As you walk in the scent of old and maybe vomit hit you senses. This is not what I want smell when I walk into any bar. There are plenty to TV's, pool table and some dart boards. Sport's bar? Not so much anymore...BUT they do have tons of killer flat screens all around with a variety of games...just no volume becase of other events--karaoke DJ live bands on the weekends. They do like a lot of places are doing now...games on for specialty events, but cater to other interests as well. The karaoke is pretty good...fun even if you don't want to participate. Not so loud you can't have a conversation. (Considering the size of the place...that's quite a feat!!) DJ---not my kind of music...a little too loud...but the regular crowd he (DJ Riggs...I think) brings in really enjoy it. The bands seem to be very eclectic...mostly 3 or 4-piece...but GOOD!!! Drink prices are pretty average for the area...some are a little pricey...but they have VERY good specials...and not on just one or two weird drinks...they often have specials on run of the mill stuff like crown, domestic draft, flavored vodkas. Service is okay...not really bad, just a little slow when their busy. They have a sign up that they don't have a waitress...I think they would be better if they got one or at least had one of the bartenders go to the tables sometimes. When you can squeeze in to the bar though their very friendly. Basically, a good little hangout with decent prices and a good selection of drinks and entertainment. I would recommend giving it a try! Stopped by for a few after writing this review and noticed that they have added what looks like a pretty good size projector screen. Have to go by on a game night and see if I can ammend my previous comment about not so much of a sports bar?! Could be they've changed...looking forward to finding out... I really wish I can love this bar with the location its at. I've tried going to Roxy's a few time and just always remind myself that I wont be coming back. It's great that they expanded the place but they really should've invested in a better ventilation system. I can put up with the smoke but my women friends refuse to step foot this place. Last time I was here I ordered one of the Towers of beer and almost an 45 min later, the bartender, whom I think is always rude, brings the ice tube. Thanks a lot for putting a ice tube to keep the piss warm beer cool after I am almost done with tower. Sorry this place just needs new management. read more

It's an OK dive. I have been four or five times over the years and would likely go more often if it was in my neighborhood. It's not too smokey and the drinks are not too pricey. They score bonus points for the shuffle board table and for having Stella on tap. It gets pretty loud when the band plays but not so loud you can't talk to your friends. Bring some friends, grab some drinks and play some games. A good time will be had. read more

After we dropped our son off at the AFB, Lackland. We needed some drinks, found this spot and as the night went on it got better. The DJ was playing my 80's old school, and 90's hip hop. As other restaurants closed it started getting more packed. It's dead before 930pm so don't be in a rush. Bartenders were pretty friendly. read more

Worst place ever!! I was here with a girlfriend of my mine for the first time ever had one beer. And after that it was hard to get a drink from two bartenders that worked there. Well, one star for no line, and one star for decent music. The whole setup is in dire need of a makeover! The atmosphere just wasn't my taste today. I remember coming here years ago, and it looks exactly the same. Except for the moldy smell...that is new. I was a bit grossed out by that. I won't be suggesting this place again which is sad because I enjoy the bar scene opposed to the club scene. There also wasn't an organized system between the bartenders. Waiting 5-10 minutes to have my order taken, while sitting right at the bar, during what seemed to be a very slow night (got there way before the crowd) left a bad taste. Possibly the worst bar I have ever been to in San Antonio. We went in on 07/03/15 and of course it was busy because of the Holiday weekend (we knew it would be busy everywhere). We waited almost 45 minutes for 1 drink each. The bartender never even came up and said Hi. Only reason we stayed was because it was close to home. And to top it off, I sucked up glass into my mouth that was broken in my drink!!! Disgusting!! She asked what I was drinking and never came back again to apologize or even offer another beverage. The people who work at Roxy's are always very friendly and attentive. I've never had to sit and wait for a bartender to come around. The beer selection is very good and the specials are usually something that appeals to most patrons. The bar is always clean and entertaining. They have darts, pool, a basketball game, and a jukebox. I have been here a few times when it gets busy but it never gets so crowded that you can't move. The best time to come is when they have karaoke. The karaoke DJ is very professional and encourages shy singers to loosen up. read more

I remember when Roxy first opened and while my wife and I weren't too crazy with the decor (where did they come with the color on those walls???--my wife made me put that in!) the TVs were nice and the drinks okay if a bit pricey. We went in off and on until about 2 years ago. Before we stopped we loved the games, thought some of the bands were pretty good, disliked the Karaoke, hated the DJ, LOATHED that ridiculous beer pong, and were completely offended by the sign on the wall that says that there are no waitresses you have to go to the bar. (Especially when you consider the bartenders didn't seem to mind coming out to take care of their friends.) Stopped by on a whim about a week or so ago and there was Karaoke (ho-hum) and they had expanded into the next space, which they really needed. Drinks still too expensive and the beer was lukewarm at best. Wall colors are really scary--I'll never doubt my wife again. I'm a guy and I was completely grossed out by the bathrooms. My wife wouldn't even go in them, she said she'd rather wait until we got home. They need to take "Sport" out of their name--this is no way a sports bar. In fact, it could use a lot of work as any kind of bar! Fix the coolers! They're only a few years old. Have some specials so that we don't have to save up for 3 months to go out and have a drink or two. REPAINT THE WALLS--they look like the fridge my mom had when I growing up. read more

THEY LOST MY DEBIT CARD, AND THEN LIED ABOUT IT. I went to this bar with a few friends, we had a good time but when we went to cash out, they claimed that they never had my card and that my friend had offered to pay for mine on her tab. This was a blatant lie, and absolutely infuriating...I ended up having to cancel the card and get another one. The pool and dart games are fun, but the fact that it takes 5 minutes to get a server's attention when there's barely anyone in the bar to begin with (for good reason) is absolutely ridiculous. This place is not a great place if you're a new face. I've been in a couple of times with someone who knew, Kim. The only good we got out of that were free drinks. The last two times, one being yesterday, the service sucked. I am a bartender and not even I could get away with never smiling at my job. I went in with two other bartenders and they weren't happy with the outcome. The sales for this place would be much higher if they didn't ignore half of the people visiting the establishment. Last night I think it was Kim and one other girl serving drinks. They both looked very unhappy. They didn't even ask us what we'd like we had to flag them down after about 15 minutes of patiently waiting. You gotta fake it to make it.! She's been there for years (Kim) so I guess her job is probably secure. If this is the case the owner should make her look friendly or hire someone who can be, naturally. Roxys is a great little bar located across from Ingram Park Mall it should be voted as one of the most excellent in the bar scene nightly the bar does get pack but the fast and friendly service provided by the most excellent staff willing and ready to help every customer available.The Bartenders are very friendly and sociable and they go out of there way to make sure that every customer feels like they are a "home away from home, the Bar provides an atmosphere unlike most bars eventhough it is considered by most to be a sports club it provides a more homey atmosphere nevertheless the place is stacked wall to wall with plasmas TVs viewing all the curent sporting events it also have pool tables,darts an extreme updated jukebox with the most current top 40 hits and nightly the bar is lite up with the sights and sounds of local Dj's who spend the most current top 40 music as well, on Tues and Thursday local talent is invited to come out and enjoy Karoake , as well as a beer pong contest that takes place every monday night in conclusion Roxys sport bar gets my vote as the Top sports bar in San Antonio but dont take my word for it google it and visit on any night and I promise you you wont be disappointed read more
