I make an effort to travel from the US, to visit here when on vacation. This museum is time well spent, when coming to the UK. Make sure to visit and support the IWM. Many of the fellow attendees were great to talk to, when learning about planes and military equipment. In challenging times, it is the men and women of the military who protect and serve to keep us safe from those who embrace hate. English people are very nice and welcoming, except the one time when I might have accidentally driven in the wrong lane and get called a Yank! But that's a whole another story in itself and is totally my fault in getting those responses :) The planes on display here are well preserved and you can learn much about the naval air history and traditions here. The museum staff were pleasant and very helpful. The store has lots of great art and books, relating to the material also. Plan to spend several hours here! The museum shop is tastefully decorated and well stocked with handcrafted items.The only thing that lets this museum down is unfortunately the catering. Dry, clumsily homemade cakes and biscuits, the same selection year after year and no cappuccinos or lattes available at all! In fact everyone I know and have spoken to is wondering why nothing is being done about the quality of catering.

First, the house itself has nothing to do with Jane Austen as she lived up the street as well as across the street. There's actually very little authentic items that belonged to Jane in the museum. Of course, that doesn't mean it isn't fun - we did enjoy the dressing up area and it was fun to see the period, etc. The film was also enjoyable as you will learn some history of her family, etc. and we also enjoyed the movie memorabilia from Jane Austen movies. That said, I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

The gallery itself has different exhibitions through out the year including work that local schoolchildren have done. Upstairs is the Museum which gives a really interesting history of Bideford including old pictures which are great to look at if you're a local or a visitor. There is also a section with varoius items of jewellery and other craft works which are for sale. You can also grab a drink and a snack and sit outside on the several table and chairs put out during the nicer weather just outside the gallery, in the park. Well worth a visit for locals and holiday makers!

The interior rooms are recreated in the 19th century Victorian styles with the art, furniture, and decor. There is a audio description of family engagement that comes on by cue. You are kind of alone in each room as the entrance person sends guests thru on a timing schedule. But some people are in a rush and catch up. A very eye opening look at dishware and items from 300 years ago. The ticket was a bit expensive for two, but the crown does not support this museum and your entrance is Valid for one year, should you return. They offer a senior rate. We did enjoy it, it's really not for kids. A LOT of things not to be touched or moved. All within reach. It's a real home from the 1700's.

We had reservations for a tea party - you can also make regular everyday reservations. The tea party included a pot of tea or coffee of your choice along with Savory and Sweet Course. For the savory bun of choice, I chose the Smoked Salmon and for the sweet course, the Cinnamon Butter Bun. While I am not a tea drinker, I loved every moment of it. It was a lot of fun to have a tea party and the food was more than I had expected. If you're not able to eat at Sally Lunn's, they also sell their famous buns by the box!

Later on in the afternoon, I saw no line outside so ventured up and there was a short line inside for those wanting to dine-in. Since I just wanted to go down to the shop, I was able to walk right down. There is a small display down there and little souvenirs. The best part though is that you can order the buns to-go here and they bring them to you outside where you will be waiting after shopping in the shop. I got one of each flavor and waited about 10 minutes for the buns to arrive. It came in a fancy box, but no bag as you had to have purchased that back in the shop. Of the Lemon, Cinnamon, and chocolate, my favorite was Lemon. The curd was so thick and rich and the bun perfectly toasted. Highly recommend!!

A beautiful city with so many breathtaking views. The site is located in the middle of the city surrounded by stores, restaurants, and other must see locations. I highly recommend booking this tour because you can learn so much and will learn about the Roman history of the baths. There is a self-guided tour that you can go as you wish. There is so much to see and so much information along the walls. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes since the ground can get a bit uneven throughout the tour and make sure you see the beautiful baths throughout the tour. Such an impressive experience and if you are in London, I recommend taking a day trip or two to visit. You will be mesmerized and taken back in time.
