Nice golf course with some challenging holes. Some of the par 3s are a bit long. The 18th is challenging with a pond guarding the green.

Really interesting course layout, the rough is really punishing, so hit it straight or take lots if balls! Clubhouse is a bit bland, as is the bar menu. Otherwise I would give 5 stars. read more

You realize right away when you enter that this isn't a normal mini-golf course! From the dressed up people, the drinks flowing and the fun and creative course - you are in for a good time! Food is available from lots of little kiosks but be prepared for a decent wait for that or your drinks even with their mobile order system. You can take your drinks on the course (and get refills!) which is fun - but it also means that drink glasses are all over if the staff is behind in picking them up. The biggest negatives are feeling herded through the course quickly and very loud drunk people. But overall it's worth the visit!

Also found myself in a big ditch after using the driver on the 8th (blind shot down the hill). I'll notch this up to a learning experience. Much tighter fairways than I am used to so quite a challenge but fantastic setting. The course was in poor condition in my opinion as it has been so dry which resulted in hard ground and some cracking on/around the greens. Also, astroturf path on approach to 2nd green which is poor design and none of the bunkers had been raked. I would be disappointed if I had paid standard day rate but as a twilight round it represents good value for money. The light went after 9 holes so I can't comment on the back 9 but I understand they are perhaps better than the front holes. The bar was open when I arrived but had shut by the time we finished (9pm) so I cannot comment on it. The pro shop looked good.

At…read morea time of the year when social lives revolve around festive drinks and parties, it's good to get off your bum and do something active. Well, ok, you're hitting a ball at a screen so not walking too far, but at least you're standing up and moving your arms... However, it's not easy. I've not played golf much and this activity requires some level of technique above 'aim and hit'. For a start, you have real clubs so you have to know what the benefit of each number is. Secondly, if you're not very good like me, then your ball will either go into a lake, a sandpit or nothing at all and you will get more shots. This means the embarrassment lasts longer as you take more and more shots to achieve the same distance that your better playing friend hit in one. I also liked the central location as it's inside High Street Kensington Tube station. There's a full bar inside so you can drink while you play, hoping it might relax you into being a better player. Low marks come from the fact that it's more expensive than bowling (£50 per simulator per hour at weekends). For that price, I'd rather bowl as you can get away with throwing hard and a bit of luck, whereas Urban Golf is more technical.

I've been lucky enough to play here on several occasions and every time it has been presented in immaculate condition with very well kept greens and fairways. The course begins with a short par4, then a longer par 4 and then a truly evil pair of par 3 holes set on the side of a hill. These are by far the best holes on the course and it's a shame they come so early in the round as the rest of the course is fairly uninspiring. Most of the holes from here on seem a little bland and lacking in character in comparison. That's not to say they are bad holes, it's just that after the elevation changes of the first few holes it's a bit of a surprise to suddenly be out on a very flat course with few feature holes.
