I am in the midst of home renos! OK not the whole reno but a whole lot of painting and replacing…read moreof lights, sockets and the like. It can be expensive, especially the paint, so boy was I happy when I found out that the co-op I live in gives $250 every two years for new paint through General Paint. So off I went on my paint shopping spree. They are currently under going some renos themselves but that didn't take away from the friendly and efficient service I received from Shona. She helped us pick out a colour that will darken the red in my dining room, that will compliment the grey in the loving room and also was knowledgeable on the types of paint to get. For someone like me who has NEVER painted before this project it was a godsend. I was also able to get everything I needed and of course I used up the whole $250. While I was at the cash register waiting for a couple of the gallons to mix I looked at the other girl/lady helping customers and realized that it was Pucks girlfriend that used to work at PetSmart, Alannah. As soon as I told her who I was I was told to bring in my pups (Puck and Oberon) right away lol. The boys got dog cookies and loves. When we were finally ready to leave (as we were able for a bit but stayed to catch up and let the boys get their treats) we were helped with the 7 gallons of paint and all supplies to the car. I will be back for future paint supplies and not just with vouchers lol.

So, I'm especially appreciative of my local paint store. It's small, specialized, and staffed with lovely and helpful people I don't have to ring a damned bell to find. For a painting project I was doing recently, I just needed a few supplies. I was in and out of the store with exactly what I needed to get within about five minutes. Plus, I was able to pick up some paint swatch samples and design guides for a future project. I love this place, way more than I love actual painting.

I did not have the name of the painter who did this previous job. Without even asking, the store manager started digging through over 1000 invoices that were in a 6 month range. She did this knowing that I am not a professional painter or a high-volume buyer, but a simple retail customer. After we found the colour, which took some work, I explained my current project and was given the best products for the job. I was advised to have 1 gallon turned into spray cans as this is best for the use of stencils. The prices are better than a large chain like Rona or Home Depot. The people who work there are all very knowledgable. I highly recommend buying paint here or even calling for expert advice for your project. If you are doing your own home renovations or any other project, you should have the experts at Cloverdale Paint help you. PS. I noticed a lot of professional painters come in while I was there. I'd say they are great for professionals and other commercial customers based on the traffic and general friendly, "know each other" attitude I observed.
