My husband and I were looking at Real Estate in the town- considering moving there…read more The Rising Sun was the closest pub- it was a Saturday lunchtime- 12.30. The door that opens onto main road looks like it should be open, but is very firmly shut- you need to go in the front door of the pub, through the public bar, past little pokies area and around to the dining area. Standard pub fare for lunch- we ordered 2 steak sandwiches-@$12 each- HUGE! No one else in the restaurant-the cook took our order at the counter- lovely lady with a great smile- and delivered our meals. Restaurant definitely needs some TLC- frustrating to me because I used to be a Rest Manager and spent most of my time there making structural and decorating changes in my head. Apparently business is very slow, but Owners- perhaps opening the door under the arch that says Cafe and installing a cake fridge and coffee cart would make extra income/ sooooo much scope here!
