This little delivery office (and I mean little) is so cramped and tiny that if you go to retrieve a package during peak hours (lunchtimes etc) then it's a strong possibility that you'll be queuing outside the door or jostling elbows with the other poor folk. Having missed a recorded delivery letter and a package I was awaiting at home, I heaved a heavy sigh at having to go to pick them up from the delivery office. Nice surprise - before Christmas they open at 7.00 so I was over the threshold on the dot! The office has been smartened up since my last visit (in September) and the young lady behind the counter was cheerful, polite and happy to help me. At 7.00 am that's worth brownie points in my book. So a professional service in a clean smart environment. Yes, it can get crowded but the counter staff generally do their best under some pressure, especially at this time of year. I hope it continues to be as neat and tidy as it is now, as it's definitely more pleasant to wait for your letters/parcels etc.and I imagine for the staff too. read more

I got a card saying a parcel is l too big for letterbox. I went to Barry Post Office - no sign of parcel. They photocopied docket for the manager to chase with MY mobile number. 2 weeks and nothing. Returned and given a mobile for manager (which is a dead line!). 37 minutes waiting on 'help line' - dugusting service!!!!!! Paul Barry read more

Absolutely disgusted with the Barry branch. Sent my. Mum 94 years of age a cake which they tried to deliver on Thursday. Unfortunately she hurt her leg and had to go to the Doctors so wasn't in to accept the parcel. She lives in a row of 7 pensioner bungalows everyone is in their 80's or 90's but instead of leaving the parcel with a neighbour it was taken back to the sorting office, no one has a car as they are elderly - on the back of the card if stated could be collected next day. My Mum is very unsteady on her feet and has health problems so she got a taxi to the sorting office today and asked the Taxi driver to in to collect it but was told IT IS IN SYSTEM......how disgraceful is that after the expense of going to the sorting office and was told to go back Saturday I phoned up complaints dept. and they got in touch with them to deliver on Saturday. There is no way would my Mum be able to go back Saturday herself. If they stated the parcel is there for collection today Friday it should be. Barry is only a small place what with her age (the address depicts OAP bungalows) and under the circumstances you would have thought some kind soul may have dropped it off on their way home, it is a short distance but why they could not have redelivered today baffles me. Hope her cake is still edible. I think they probably could not be bothered to look for the parcel..........kindness today seems to have flown out of the window......always remember.........It may be nice to be important BUT it is more important to be nice. Very small service area so if you happen to go on a rainy day you may well be queuing in the rain. That said, it serves the purpose for Barry residents, allowing them to pick up parcels locally and conveniently, rather than from Cardiff. The staff, contrary to some reviews have always been polite and friendly towards myself upon collection, in what must be a rather claustrophobic atmosphere for those working there. read more

Claimed they had a signature for a letter held at their office. A complaint raised because I had not signed for my letter, so someone else must have. The investigation has been ongoing for months now, with the last contact from them mid November. Tried phoning them today and no-one answered. No-one has ever answered. They are a complete shower of incompetents. read more
