Parcels Please

Like "Qype User" I've been chased a month after the contract, demanding £90 (including a discount…read morefor early settlement). I cannot prove whether or not my parcel was oversize at this late stage, and I suspect neither can they so I've told them to produce evidence of costs incurred or sling their hook. Any irregularities in a delivery need to be reported at the time of delivery, preferably by the courier or by attaching a report to the delivery. As far as I am concerned my delivery proceeded perfectly OK - until this. It's no great hassle if you know your facts and can stand your ground. Parcels Please gave me a good price for the delivery, which in this case was contracted out to UPS, and it was actioned promptly. Very good, very satisfactory, except for this irritation.
Avoid this company like the plague! Approximately 2 months after booking with Parcels Please i…read morereceived a letter demanding extra payment of £30 per parcel due to 'oversize' shipments. I had made a number of shipments with this company prior to this and all my parcels were the same size as they fit specific size picture boxes. These were apparently all fine. One of the claimed dimensions was 50cm greater than the largest dimension of the picture and so was clearly wrong. They did not want to explain this anomaly or why it took them 2 months to discover these extra charges and threatened me with legal action. I would rather go to court than pay these hidden and false charges. Do yourself a favour and find another company to send your parcels with.

They take clothes there for repairs and alterations and explained that, not only is the work always of the highest standard, but probably cheaper than anywhere else. What higher recommendation could you ever need?!! Almost needless to say, I took some clothes straight down to the shop (which you'll find just round the corner from 'Subway' through the door on the left and up the stairs) and left them (along with a deposit) with a friendly lady there. A few days later I went back to pick up the clothes, which were beautifully repaired, and to pay the balance of a few pounds. Certainly cheap for such professional work and I shall definitely return when I need any more sewing done!

I must say I was impressed by the beautiful and colourful range of spring and summer clothes, some in the sale, some not. There are a couple of changing rooms beside the check out and I took advantage of one of them to try on various garments. I ended up buying several things (actually on two different days as I couldn't resist another look!) including a zip-fronted gilet and some striped and floral tops. You'll also find shoes, scarves and bags, so there's plenty to browse, and the staff are helpful and pleasant.
