I have been going to this salon for just a short time but the last 2 times it has just been a struggle. Now don't get me wrong it is a nice place seems pretty clean as well. Pedicures are really good too. I may just now go for pedicures only. Last time I went the tech rushed and left the paint on my acrylics a little lumpy but I just brushed it off because everything else was good. The most recent visit on this past Sunday was really terrible. I do not like confrontation and I usually don't say a lot of negative things and I do believe good service depends on the technician. The technician I had was a middle aged woman that was just so rough and careless. I got cut twice and she just said "oops" and I got burned once and I was shaking a little and she just kept going didn't care until I told her to stop. I kept explaining what I wanted and she did not understand which I get it's fine if you don't do certain things but then tell me you can't and not just get Frustrated with me. Because of this frustration she made my nails crooked, lumpy, messy with the paint , and sticky. She made another tech finish me and they didn't even want to fix the mistakes. I then reported it to the receptionist and all they said was sorry to hear that here is your total. I just feel they should have techs that are more compassionate to their customers and get more training to be up to date on the new trends even just the basics. I just don't know about this place I have so many mixed feelings. This is in a strip mall off Roosevelt and I was pleasantly surprised by the interior. The aesthetic is sharp and it is super clean. Tons of pedicure chairs, I'm not sure how it wasn't busier on a Saturday morning. I got the classic spa pedicure using a gift card I won from Goldfish Swim School. Unsuspectingly stumbled upon this gem and so happy I did. The inside is freshly renovated (don't be fooled by the exterior) with brand new massage chairs that you will end up wanting to take home with you. Love the variety of pedicures, chose the organic spa pedi and it didn't disappoint. Spent over an hour for the pedicure and the attention to detail from using clean sanitized/one time use products to the actually treatment was top notch. Tiffany was great. Do not support this business. Tony, the owner, does not treat his employees well. They are not allowed a lunch break or bathroom break. The girls are crying while painting nails and waxing. My first review is above and it was a 5-star.. I'm sorry to say, my review has dropped to a 2-star and I won't be returning. :-( my usual nail tech was not friendly this particular day I came in... Now, I did call the day before and say I'd be in "Soon," but didn't give an exact time... perhaps she passed up a client for me and she was angry? Not sure.... regardless, in this business these things happen. When I finally went in, (the next day) she seemed grumpy & looked like she didn't want to be there. Not sure if it was personal or not. I arrived around 5pm... needed a pedi and a fill-in on gels with no-chip color. I had my eyes dilated that day and they would NOT go back to normal! They stayed dilated for an unusual amount of time. I had a meeting the next day and didn't want to go with gross nails, so I went in for my appt anyway.... regardless, dilated eyes aren't very debilitating.... my point is - I chose a color with my sunglasses OFF (just regular vision), and went about my biz. It was a set of a regular color for the toes and a gel color for the hands. For some reason, certain polishes are CHEAP and the gel doesn't match the regular color. So she did my toes... mind you - half a$$ed the entire pedi which she is usually VERY good..... then she vegan painting my fingernails.... I had to keep my glasses on cuz I had blurry vision (I have a brain/eye condition), plus had the dilated eyes. She paints one whole hand and cures it... then I looked and I'm like is it going to get darker on the 2nd coat? I chose a bright-ish purple color... it was ROYAL BLUE. I did not want that color. She's like it's the same as your toes. No it certainly wasn't!!! Most nail techs paint ONE nail, (double-coat) like a pinky.... show you to make sure you like it before doing a whole damn hand. I said I'm sorry but I don't like it. Can you just drill it off. She acted as if I had to get the color, "Nope, I have to start all over and take off as if you'd just walked in." I said well, I don't know what to say. It looks terrible. So she's like now your toes won't match! She took color off hands and toes and had to buff my nails over which wouldn't take long if she wasn't so GOD AWFUL slow! She was moving slow in general anyway.... she does usually take her time which I usually don't mind but it was nearing almost 7:45pm at this point and I was frustrated. Other women who came in after me were done and gone. She then CUT my skin with the gross file they use on EVERYONE!!! And just said, "Sorry," very quietly. I'm like wow. That hurts! It was burning. No antiseptic, nothing. It was a strange friction cut that didn't bleed. Let me tell you, it hurt for DAYS afterward. I discovered another on a different finger the next day, too. I put neosporin on the cuts and kept them clean. If I got infected - lord help us all! Whew. So needless to say, I won't be back. Keep in mind, I tip pretty nicely. I appreciated her work before this visit. I tipped her $20 the first time I came in... on like a $35 fill-in... just because she was very nice and stayed late without complaining (Now I realize she stayed late bc she works slow). The owners aren't very friendly either... always smoking and trailing smelly smoke inside the place, when you're walking in to go relax you see and smell them out there - yuck! Not a good way to represent your business. Also, when I had called to let them know I was coming, which I do as a courtesy, he said ok.. and then when I arrived he was outside on the phone, smoking of course and I walk inside. He walks in behind me and says sternly, "What do you need today?" I asked what? I couldn't believe his unfriendly "Greeting." Instead of correcting himself, perhaps a, how are you? What can we do for you today?" He just repeated the same exact shit. Lol this place is nice but could be 10x better. Don't all these nail shops realize there's literally competition on EVERY corner? Guess they don't care they just need a new sucker every day. Try quality vs quantity, "Royal" Nail Spa. It'll get you further. (See my review about the Florida nail spa - same exact thing happened. Tech had to do like 7-8 coats on the hands and it STILL didn't match the toes). Wish I took pics here to show..... that's my best comparison. Oh and the tech at royal asked me THREE times "Now are you sure THIS is the color you want? Because this is a lot of work." When we changed it. I am like, "YES. I just went here on a whim and had an amazing experience. I was promptly greeted the moment I walked through the door. No appointment needed, walk-ins acceptable! The shop is totally renovated, (very elegant -- 18 pedicure chairs/ manicure stations) very clean/sanitary, (All of their tools are prepackaged and unwrapped for each new client), has a collection of colors varying from No Chip, Dip, and regular polish to my satisfaction (OPI, Essie, Wave, Kiara Sky, Comso, NU-GENESIS, IBD, China Glaze). I went in for a pedicure and a No Chip but asked if it was possible to do both hands and toes at the same time...which is!! Ryan did my pedicure while Jenny did my manicure in which they both did an amazing job! Their options are unbelievable appalling such as the "Organic Spa Pedicure." While a $55 pedicure might be a stretch it's definitely worth it -- sliced oranges incorporated into the pedicure that acts as a "scrub" along with a paraffin dip that helps with your cracked heels. And on top of that there's so much more! Definitely will be back! The only drawback is that there is a sign that says "Please tip in cash." read more

I just confronted the owner and staff tonight after seeing one of the employees using my exact same missing water bottle (hydro flask from the Nordstrom anniversary exclusive-approx 45+ dollars) that I had left there about 4 weeks ago. After I realized I had left my favorite, fairly new, expensive water bottle there, i called them two separate times asking if anyone had turned it in. The same response was they were no water bottle was found. Mind you when I left it there i was the last customer of the night, so it couldn't have walked away with another customer! When I confronted the staff and owner tonight mentioning I had lost the exact same water bottle a few weeks back, they denied me saying that the employee (older gentleman) bought the same special edition light tan colored water bottle from the anniversary sale, isn't that odd!?! The customer is never right anymore! I had gel manicure at another salon and removed it myself, soaking with foils, to find my nails breaking and cracked mid nail. I needed nail glue to hold my nails together and chose Royal Nail to have a manicure to allow my nails to grow back to their regular length. My usual is no polish, plain nails. The nail tech recommended tips and a dip manicure to support and strengthen the growing nail. This lasted 5 - 6 WEEKS, growing out, trimming myself, and still looking perfect! I'm giving this place one star because the first time I went here I had a good experience. It cost me over $130 for a no chip mani pedi but it was good. The second time I went in they tried to convince me to get the same services but I just wanted a simple mani pedi that wouldn't break the bank. I should have known when the person originally with me left and an older woman came over and started my pedicure. She seemed annoyed that I had no chip on that she had to take off. She put remover on my fingernails and plastic gloves over them and left it on the entire time she did my pedicure. I was worried about my nails and she said they're fine. After my mediocre pedicure she moved onto my nails, I knew there was something wrong because my fingers were tingling and she pulled my cuticles several times causing them to bleed. She had some weird smelling stuff she put on my cuticle to stop it from bleeding but quickly finished my nails and after refusing to put the color on I wanted because it was too light and would take too many coats she put on a different pink asked me to pay, and even charged me an extra $10 because she had to remove my no chip. My nails have been a mess since. They have peeled down to nothing and my fingertips are so dry from the polish remover they are split and sore and dry. I'm afraid to take this awful polish off because my nails just aren't strong enough to take it. Unless you want to pay over $100 avoid this place. Look at my fingers and run the other way. read more

Decided to try this nail spa today for a Pedicure. It had a clean apperance and workers seemed friendly, I chose the Signature pedicure which cost $38. She ran hot water for me to soak in. Nothing was added to the water to soften callus, She trimmed & shaped nails. She did some cuticle trim. She used a pumice stone for 1 min on bottom of foot. She never touched the heel or sides of feet to remove dead skin. She used what they call a citrus sugar scrub on lower legs and then poured a hot candle directly on legs I thought I had 2nd degree burns.. She rinsed that off and got not warm but HOT HOT !!!!! TOWELS and wrapped my legs. She polished my toes and now that I closely look at them the polish must have been old because its not a smooth application. I also noticed my heels appear to have dry skin and rough to the touch because she never used anything to soften the skin nor used the pumice. I will never come back to this establishment and now I will have to do my own pedicure which I should have done from the start. WILL NEVER RETURN and advise anyone considering using this place to find somewhere else. read more

Well I wanted to try a new nail spot because my usual spot gets super busy & on my last visit the tech rushed & did a sloppy job. I stopped in at Royal Nail Spa & the nice tech shaved down my other nails that hadn't been done correctly at the other place. Some where thicker than others & she pointed it out . During their remodeling from 2Q4U to Royal Nail Spa I tried a couple different places and honestly couldn't wait til they opened up again. The professionalism, care, and attention to detail is unmatched. Lots of colors to choose from, regular, no chip, and gel. Nana is my go to technician but if she's not there no problem Bc all the technicians I've had have been great. The pedicure is a little more expensive than other salons but it's worth it. I don't recommend coming here if you want your no chip manicure to last. The lady hurried through it and it shows, will not come here again for their no chip manicure. I decided to give this place a try because of the great reviews. I came in this past Saturday and the experience was stressful and uncomfortable from the second I sat down. Tony did my nails (I got a fill in.) I only know his name because of the name tag. Is he an owner? Because he was more focused on every customer walking in than actually focusing on me as a client and providing quality service. He went so incredibly fast and it made me feel very unrelaxed. I came in at 9:45 am so that I could beat the rush, not BE RUSHED. He couldn't even bother to notice or fix that he glued my nail on completely crooked. It was obviously noticeable. It was to the point where I didn't feel comfortable mentioning it because the whole experience was really unsettling. The polish is uneven and messy. I literally left with a headache. Nothing that happened during my fill in was acceptable and the cigarette smell didn't help either.
