I would recommend Connie, Leslie and all of the other staff dentists hygienists and stress reduction personnel. They can find an easy solution for most any problem. Love this place! The people at the front desk are so lovely and always greet you with a smile. The dentists are very nice and any assistants are always open and happy to speak with you. Everyone here is so lovely and so nice, it's very refreshing to come by for an appointment! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They also have forms you can fill in online prior to your appointment to speed up the waiting time. Everything about this place is great. read more

The most recent technology, best trained staff and most we'll run dentist office I've ever experienced. All 3 dentists at this practice have done work on my family of seven. Their focus is client centered, they have great rapport with their patients and the way they go over the information and suggestions is top notch. I can not say enough good things about this place - start to finish. Read my previous review on "Spyhill dental" in Royal Oak, which is why I ended up going to this place since they really dropped the ball there. I may need to send them a letter advising them because of their lack of service, I stumbled onto another business that was A+ I had a medical emergency, chipped my tooth which I needed fixed. When I contacted them, they got me in the very next day to look at my tooth. At the appointment they not only looked at my tooth but ended up doing the work right away. That came as a surprise since I thought I would need to make another appointment after they looked at the damage? The work they did on my chipped tooth was fantastic and painless. Thank you. Since this emergency appointment, I have gone back in for a check-up and cleaning, since I was so impressed by there service, staff and office, I thought why not give them the opportunity to have my business? I also recommended my husband and he is now a patient too. The other great thing that came as a surprise was because of the referral of a new patient, I received free teeth whiting. Its always nice to be a valued customer and treated well when a referral is given. At the other dental place "Spy Hill", I surely wasn't given anything but the run around. I had been seeing this dentist for a number years at the clinic. I went in to get a cleaning while pregnant, and I knew I had a tooth that needed a crown but my dentist had said it could wait. I showed up for my appointment to find out that my dentist was no longer at the clinic (I had no advance warning of this). Then the dentist who saw me, gave me terrible attitude about not wanting to get a crown done while I was pregnant. He was arrogant and ignorant. I commented to reception staff about my missing dentist and my treatment by the new dentist. I was met with little concern. So I left the clinic for another. read more

I made an appointment with Dr. Williamson as I wanted a dentist closer to my home and I didn't really care for my last dentist. From the outside, this place looks like nothing special. The inside is super nice, its a huge place, the dental office shares space with other health type businesses. Instead of having an assistant go over my dental history, Dr. Williamson did it himself. I was really impressed at the amount of time he spent with me. He was down to earth and didn't try to rush me or sell me stuff. I didn't have any major work done, just a check up and cleaning. Instead of the old panorex flat plate type x rays, they have a state of the art 3D imager. The pictures on it reminded me of something you would see on a CT scan. Dr. Williamson sat down and went over the images including my sinuses and my airway. I thought this was pretty cool! I have a tooth that had a jagged edge that I wanted shaved down so it would blend in better with the rest of my teeth. I had asked my previous dentist to do this and he was going to charge me $200! Dr. Williamson did it for me at no charge. The dental assistant and hygienist were good too. My husband has also started going here and is getting some work done and is pleased. I haven't had any major work done, but so far I'm impressed! read more

I've been coming to Royal Oak since 2012 and have had a great experience with many different staff members (dentists, hygienists, assistants and office staff). The procedures have gone well (cleanings, fillings, canal) and I'll be coming back for any dental needs. My experience has been stress-free and enjoyable, especially considering my circumstances sometimes. Billing is done through two different insurance plans and I've had no issue as the staff takes care of it for me. I typically just receive a bill in the mail or phone call for the remaining amount later. read more

Excellent dental clinic! As newcomers to Calgary, we lucked out finding this gem. The front desk staff are very efficient, informative and friendly. Everyone at the clinic gets top marks for putting us at our ease when neither of us like going to see the dentist. They made the effort to check back with my previous dentist to see if previous x-rays were still current. They weren't but dental assistant Lindsay did an awesome job of taking new ones. Dr Jodi did a thorough exam of my teeth, my night-guard and the x-rays and we had a candid discussion about whether to keep my wire retainer in place. I felt that she did an excellent job of discussing the pros and cons and at no point did I feel like I was being pressurized into having additional work done. Hygienist Michelle did a fabulous job of cleaning and polishing my teeth with some hi tech ultrasonic gizmos that almost eliminated the need for any scraping. And unlike most other hygienists, she didn't chew up my gums when flossing between my tightly spaced bottom teeth ... kudos! All in all, excellent! read more

Here's what to expect at this dentist: 1. Terrible business hours - my suggestion is to find another clinic that offers evening and weekend appointments, they're very inflexible here. 2.Shoddy Dental Work - I received a root canal and crown from Dr. Jodi Gergely. I had just finished an Invisalign treatment at my previous dental office, but my dentist left to start her own practice and I had recently moved so I decided to try Royal Oak Dental which is close to my house. Jodi informed me that one of my molars was dead/dying and that I would need a root canal and crown, which I'm now starting to question the validity of as this could very well have been an up-sale. The root canal has been fine, but the crown is terrible. I had made myself very clear that I wanted an exact copy of the original tooth with the same bite pattern so I could continue to wear the retainer(s) from my Invisalign treatment to keep my teeth aligned, which I assumed wouldn't be a problem since she had 3D x-rays of my teeth and could use those to create the rendering of the crown and plop those plans into the machine that carves the crown; what I got instead is a nonsense bite pattern with a weird ridge in the middle of the tooth, and a disgruntling mouth feel. I tried to go back to get it fixed, taking time out of my busy schedule, unfortunately I work downtown and the c-train was delayed so I was 10 minutes late, I got there to discover that my appointment was cancelled because they had let the next patient go in, and had booked a mere 20 minute appointment for me for a service they know takes over an hour; which in my opinion is a clear ploy to avoid doing service rework. In addition to that I didn't realize at the time that my benefits would only cover a metal, or porcelain fused to metal crown and I ended up paying for these services out of pocket because I wasn't given those options. I suggest avoiding Dr. Jodi Gergely like the plague because she has nothing to offer other than shoddy craftsmanship, rude office staff, and she doesn't have your best interests in mind, she's only out to make a quick buck. If your health is important to you, you should avoid Royal Oak Dental, and bear in mind that dentists set their own fees, and the market could and should be competitive. 3. Excellent technology - 3D panoramic x-rays, very high tech equipment. 4. The office manager is rude and incompetent. 5. Scheduling mishaps - prepare to have your time wasted. 6. Good Dental Hygienists - Rie is very pleasant and gentle with teeth and gums. read more

I called this morning with a cracked front tooth. The young girl on the phone was rude and insensitive. She told me I had 5 minutes to get there and even then, couldn't guarantee a dentist would help me. Which is fine if the Dr is busy, but if she was my receptionist.. she would be fired for treating my customers with such disrepect!!! The tone of her voice was unacceptable. I am not a LOSER but rather a PAYING customer that deserves to be talked to, not talked down to. This is not the first time I have had this experience here. I have been twice in the past and found the receptionitists to be very rude! Would never recommend this place to anyone who wants to be treated with respect. I have an appointment somewhere else today & will gladly give them my money as they have already greeted me with open arms.
