We snagged a couple pints (cider and a local ale) and enjoyed the atmosphere. This definitely seemed like a nice little local spot and we were glad we stopped. If you're looking for parking as you approach take a right turn and then up the hill, back down and park on the left side. We had no issues there. The apple crumble and the cream that came with it were really tasty on the first few bites with most of the crumble and cream. Yum! If you're hungry this could be a great option on your road trip. Our meal and drinks came out to $47 which seemed about right based on the area.

I've never seen any problems in this pub. It's a little hidden gem in Turnchapel. Worth finding if your in the area. If you have a complaint the staff bend over backwards to help you and make up for it. Best customer service by far! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and would take my family down any time. I am a local and have lived here in the area all my life. A most idyllic place to have your honeymoon. Fabulous sea wall to fish from, and I even catch them!! Nice beach to swim out from into Talland Bay, but you need to watch the current. The Blue Peter pub is the last one on the quay before France. It has a fantastic atmosphere, wonderful food, wonderful people and a whole lot of lovely memories for us. We have been back a few times over the years, and may well do it again next year. Particularly , when the mullet are up on the Gulf Stream!! I subbed onion rings for fries bc I honestly couldn't stomach another "chip" in the UK. I'm tired of fried potatoes, sorry. So this entire fish was not the frozen, breaded blocks of fish you get in America. I felt my coronary arteries occluding after eating 25% of my fish and after one onion ring so I had to tap out. But not before I devoured the mushy peas- bc it's almost like mashed potatoes, except green and not potatoes. Husband had the beef shin special which was delicious and odd (I can't say I've ever had shin served in the US... it doesn't sound appetizing but it's pretty tasty). We had drinks to start and let me just say I got schooled on proper gin drinking- I'll be sure to consume my gin and tonic in a bowl, double shot gin, and plenty of ice. I had a fantastic meal. What did stand out was the appalling noise emanating from the loudspeakers incessant modern music of a type calcualted to drive most older potential customers away. Ashburton used to have a plethora of pubs but is now down to just 5. Of the 3 that I visited last week, this one was bottom of my list and I won't be going back.

Nestled within the Dartmoor National Park, Warren House Inn is opened to the public for food and drinks. You'd be surprised its rich history - a hearth that has been burning since 1845! Around the corner are Dartmoor ponies and Highland cows (coos), and great hiking spots to the local tin mine. Service is great, and the ambiance is better than you'd expect - especially after braving the cold wind and rain when hiking outside. Highly recommend checking it out - I certainly would return.

The food was exceptional. Two of us had the chicken which was a special, my husband had the fish special and our friend had the pork belly. All were outstanding . The service was excellent. It was definitely a "10". We are from the States so finding a restaurant of this quality in Cornwall means so much to us. We plan to return to this area and Plough will be on our list of places to have . I am in the food industry and therefore can be quite fussy but I was so impressed.
