We recently camped here with our Boy Scout troop and reserved the Youth Overnight Campsite. The campsite is spacious, with plenty of room for our tents, flagpole, and Scout skill games. The kitchen area is well equipped with multiple picnic tables, BBQ grills, and plenty of trash cans, which made camp cleanup much easier. The restrooms have flush toilets and were very clean for a public facility. Park staff checked and cleaned the restrooms regularly throughout our stay. The park also offers many recreational facilities, including basketball courts, tennis courts, a frisbee golf course, and a volleyball net near the picnic area. The park ranger who checked us in was exceptionally friendly and helpful. She stopped by our campsite several times to make sure everything was going well and provided detailed information during check-in. The only minor drawbacks were that the campfire pit is located across from the campsite, and the hiking trails are relatively short. read more

Spacious, great for kids to run around and play. They have a large Bbq grill and a lot of small ones.

As far as a Youth Overnight area, it was really good. The grounds keeper was very polite. The park was clean and well maintained. The area is surrounded by farmland and on hot days you can smell the fertilizer, but it came and went. The camping area and park is situated on a hill. Camping hack. Face your tent and feet pointing down hill. The location you can not beat. There is a lot you can do with the youth in the surrounding area. Kayaking, hiking the estuary, moss landing and local fruit picking. The fire pit is far from where you set up camp, but it has its own seating and a flagpole. read more

Very tidy and underutilized county park.There's a couple of nice oaky trails, some open fields for sports, restrooms which are usually clean, and you get the benefit of ocean breezes but the North County sunshine for the most part. If you hike to the back of the park you'll find yourself treated to a nice view of the bay from the very top. Note the Yelp address is wrong. The entrance is off Maher between Echo Valley Rd. and Royal Oak place. read more

A huge park with lots of different areas. Many festivals do events here because of the great amount of space. Ideally located to the peninsula cities. Always clean and well kept. Good areas for picnics, bbq's, etc. Lots of great equipment for the kids. They will love it. read more

This place has some very unprofessional workers. Myself, my two children and our young dog were literally the only ones in the park. We were stopped by an old lady in a red Fiat yelling at us telling us our dog needed to be tethered. Our dog was clearly tethered. Apparently she needs to get her eyes checked After telling her multiple times and thank you, the dog is tethered she decided to make some rude comments and drive off. We were later than approached by another older lady, driving on a John Deere side-by-side again we are the only people in the park you can see our dog is clearly tethered to the swings, and she decides to engage us acting hostile, and using profanity. She told me I was rude to her coworker. I explained her I told her thank you and as she could see, my dog is clearly tethered and we don't need to be engaged or harassed, as we are trying to enjoy our day at the park and if this is the way you treat people I can understand why the park is completely empty, she continue to use profanity telling me to shut my mouth using the F word explained to her that if she continue to engage us that I would file a complaint and she would most likely lose her job. She told me to F off and that she didn't need a job, somebody needs to do something about this woman as harassing young kids, and using profanity is not acceptable. My two and three-year-old were traumatized and never want to go back to that park. Not only should these ladies be ashamed of their selves but this park needs to be reprimanded for allowing this kind of abuse to take place as I'm a local resident who owns three houses and brings much money into this community. Nobody deserves to be treated like this common courtesy and respect goes along way. read more

OCCASION: I come here with the youth group every year or so for the annual camping trips. We are located in the overnight youth stay camp site, very deep inside the park. Hard to find when you're driving at night. The gate is locked at night. ENVIRONMENT: Located close to civilization. Bathrooms are decent. Nice place for camping, but limited spaces. At night, there are crazy animals that my sister and I screamed running away from the place. There is a fire place and a flag pole. The grass is nice and there are a lot of benches and tables for you and the kids to sit on. The bathrooms always smell like chemical and the chemical smell is very strong and lingers everywhere. CUSTOMER SERVICE: N/A PRICE: N/A OVERALL: Decent place for camping. At least it was only a 45 minute drive from where I lived. read more
