Another perfect example of "you get what you pay for." This "3.5 Star" Hotwire establishment might deserve said rating in another galaxy....in the Metro NY area, the VERY cheesy (albeit modern and newish) decor and apparent utter lack of understanding what's actually desirable in a somewhat "upscale" hotel make me question said rating. The entire room felt as though someone with a certain, arguably potentially tasteful vision had gone to IKEA, decided IKEA was still too expensive and then ended up buying third world copies of said products to execute the idea. That said, check in staff was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant managed to reopen the "already closed" kitchen to serve me; kudos for accommodating me, though what was served was below even "fast food" standards. In short, a bit of a caricature of the "boutique hotel" this place bills itself as, but not bad at all at the going rate on hotel booking sites. read more

Pros: Cons: I've stayed at the Royal Regency for 3 visits now. I can't believe there aren't more reviews of this place. I'll try to be precise and to the point. The layout of the lobby and entrances/exits is illogical but mostly tolerable. The first floor is dedicated to rentable rooms for special events. If you want to check in/register go to the "first level", one floor up. Rooms are located on first and second levels. DECOR. I don't know where to start. What seemingly has potential for a decent place on a huge piece of property is somewhat dwarfed by a putrid green, brown, and yellow colors. The beautiful koi fish at the main etrance are more like after thoughts. I am still not sure if this is purely a non-smoking facility or not, but as soon as you step through the doors the smell of cigarettes BLANKETS everything under the ceiling. I wish management would somehow purify the air. This is definitely not a hotel to hang out in. This is more of a rest stop before you leave on your excursion for the entire day. STAFF/PRICING. Be alert about price quotes. Speaking with different people will result in different prices on rooms. Unfortunately you have to do a little fighting to get the right cost for you, even if it means writing down names of people you spoke with, and asking for a manager/supervisor. I stayed for $119 a night, but was not offered that price until some serious prodding (they initially quoted me about $250!). Continental breakfast staff are usually friendly, but service from other staff can be spotty/inconsistent. There is no one to take your luggage. Just look for the bell-hop luggage carrier and transport your own luggage. ROOMS. Layouts of the room vary, but it's obvious the hotel is very outdated and in need of a more contemporary makeover. From telephones conking out, to heaters/air conditioners with inconsistent operating levels, and water temperatures reversed, I've had it all at the Royal Regency. The mattresses are not that comfy but good enough for me since I can sleep almost anywhere. I wouldn't trust the comforter or floors, so I always walk around with flip flops. They charged me a one-time $10 for a mini-fridge. WARNING: review your bill when you check out. They tried to charge me a daily fee for simply having a safe in the room, not even using it! Little noise travels through the walls, but foot traffic in the halls, especially on level 1, is prominent. Noise on weekends and special event nights, ie. dancing, is also pronounced, although less so on level 2. PARKING: Spacious parking lot but tends to get crowded on weekends, especially at night. OTHER: Access to freeways are close by, and gas stations and convenience stores are a short drive away on Tuckahoe. Continental breakfast is served 7am-10am, the usuals: mini croissants, sliced fruit, bread, bagel, cereal, OJ, milk, coffee. Conclusion. Would I stay here again? Yes, because it is close to the spots where I usually visit. It's not a 5-star hotel, but it doesn't pretend to be. There is a Ramada less than 2 blocks away but I choose Royal for the bigger parking lot (Ramada's tend to be a pain to find parking). When I stay here I just use my room as a place to rest my head and keep my luggage. Just be prepared to argue for the best price. read more

So I stayed at the hotel the night before my wedding with some of my bridesmaids on April 3rd. The place was very pretty and we were excited to check in. A few things about the room 1. The hot water takes 15 minutes of running water before it is hot enough to get in and even then it's not that hot. 2. The room was chilly and one heater worked and the other did not. The next morning before we left to head to the venue we heard arguing and fighting in the main lobby. There was an altercation between some guest in the hotel and we believe the front desk receptionist was involved. A few minutes later were heard banging and glass breaking. As we were leaving the hotel we noticed that someone had vandalized the hotel and there was no police called. This should not have escalated to the extent it did without the police present. I have been trying to get a partial refund and no success. This hotel needs to work on their professionalism and response to incidents...this could have ended up much worse. read more

So my family from Albania came into town and I booked them a stay at the Royal Regency Hotel and I must say that they expressed to me that they had a wonderful experience they stay there with their two kids and they stated to me that every morning there was a young lady who greeted them in Albanian every single morning and that just made their stay more comfortable and at home Besides that they let me know that the staff was great the breakfast was amazing and their overall stay was just a great experience for them being new to New York so I just wanted to Express this and give this hotel a wonderful review and I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone's future stay read more

Went to a wedding reception and party here and reserved the room 2 months ahead of time. I get there and they have no rooms for half of the bridal party. That's right a reservation means nothing here! On top of all that, the place is falling apart. They advertised a remodeled hotel but I don't see any signs of that. The wallpaper is coming off, doors are broken and some of the bathrooms don't have stable walls. I recommend the motel down the street over this place. read more

About two months ago I came to this hotel (Royal Regency Hotel) located on tucker hoe rd in Yonkers and while in my room in the middle of the night about 3am I woke up to a flooded room due to ruined plumbing system in the above room over the one I was renting. I called to the front desk about the issue and wasn't assisted to hours later. I was not comp for this major inconvenience. So today 3/6/21 I give this place a try again only to be upset again! I called in made reservations only to get here and they tell me that I can't be placed in the room because the computers were down. Which I didn't understand because I jus called in. Stayed for two nights. My daughter was bitten by unknown critters (possibly bedbugs) while she slept. I told the front desk about it. I didn't freak out but they did not seem to care much and said they hadn't had any recent "outbreaks." I would have for sure chalked it up to bedbugs, but since there were no screens on the windows and we had one open for a bit, it is possible that bugs could have flown in. But it was probably bedbugs. The next night I was exhausted and came back to find three separate parties complete with pumping baselines in full swing -- until 2AM! I was on the second floor and heard the music loud and clear. I called the front desk around 12.30A to complain about the noise and no one picked up. i also forgot my toothbrush and there are no stores around there to walk to and pick one up so I asked the front desk if they had a throwaway plastic one -- they did not. The wifi sucks and is super slow -- the TVs are standard def and only have very, very basic cable -- like maybe 12-15 channels - mostly sports and news. No pay per view movies or anything. Room service limited and very expensive. I just want to say my wedding day was October 13th 2018. I had my venue at the Opal room. It was beautiful. From the staff to how it was set up and everyone attended to my guest. We chose the buffet and the food consisted of salmon, beef, chicken with rice and vegetables and our cake was amazing. It was great our guests had a great time. We ended the day with a stay at the hotel at the Westchester site which was upgraded by the hotel. The room was amazing. Loved the bathroom and bedroom. I would like to begin writing this by expressing how UPSET I am with this company as a whole. After visiting New York City this weekend, I can't express how bad of a trip I had thanks to Royal Regency Hotel. Let me begin by starting my story. I purchased my two night stay from Saturday- Monday hoping I would have a great Martin Luther King Weekend through Hotel Tonight on Thursday January 11, 2018. My funds were withdrawn day of when I purchased the ticket. It is not Saturday and I am excited to head to New York City. I have a 5 hour drive since traffic is crazy so I decide to leave at night to avoid it all. When I arrive to Yonkers, after getting lost multiple times I finally find the hotel where the GPS did not even know where it was. It is between 3am - 5 am as I approach the front desk and ask the guy working I am here to check in. First, he looks at me like I am crazy as if I didn't belong there and second his first statement was "We are completely booked" .... I quickly responded, like no buddy I have a room paid and reserve since Thursday. I told him I was on my way from PA and notify someone I was coming late, that person began with the letter "M". Anyways he kept making it clear that there was no room's available and there was nothing he can do. I was getting furious and told him I better get a room since I paid for an entire weekend and that room should be there waiting for me. He kept stating that no managers were on scene and there policy had a Check IN time.... This made NO DAMN SENSE. I have a room reserved through the weekend and my room is given to someone so that the hotel can make more money! The customer service throughout the night was HORRIBLE. I was kept being told there was nothing to do and for me to call Hotel Tonight. I then called them and they reached out to the hotel. Hotel Tonight and the hotel could not do anything for me. THERE WAS NO POLICY WRITTEN ANYWHERE IN THE HOTEL. They kept saying, there is no policy but that's the rule. I want someone to respond to me as I will want to take legal actions for being stranded, having to sleep in my car that night and paying for something that hotel said I was not going to get a refund for. After reading all of the negative reviews about this hotel I was highly skeptical but decided to take the chance anyway. I was really pleased. For a few pros and cons. Pro: The staff was polite and very informative. The room was super clean. The hotel is filled with purple, but it was nice. The lobby is very modern, has a huge tv and a long table and couches where one can hang out or do work. The room wasn't anything over the top but for $100 it was great. Cons: There is a complimentary breakfast which was a little disappointing, it had your bagels and juices/coffee so I guess it met the requirements considering it was free. There was a party going on in one of the venues so the parking lot filled up fast, I was a little nervous that I wouldn't find parking once I got back to the hotel after dinner, but I did so all was fine. I booked this hotel for my brother and his family so they could stay at a convenient location to me and sites in the city. Honestly...I have never been so appalled and disgusted with the tactics they use to get money back from customers who book through budget travel sites (expedia). The hotel itself is ok....super loud because I think the walls and doors are way too thin. We were woken up several times throughout the night between 230 and 430 am, from party-goers. Not the party people's fault, but as I said, the walls and doors need updating. So...check out time and he gets the bill. No surprises. 2 days later and $150 charge from them. No description just a sneaky little charge as if we all wont notice. A phone call to the hotel and the "person in charge" says its for stolen towels. Stolen towels? They use the cheapest thinnest linens possible....my sister in law is a stickler for fine things....she has restoration hardware towels and certainly doesn't need to steal any towels from there or anywhere. The manager said he was giving the maid who reported the stolen towels my brother's number so she can call him to discuss it. Is that proper protocol? How low class can you get. Obviously the charge is being disputed on the credit card and the Royal Regency is being reported to the better business Bureau. I have never been so sorry for supporting a local business. The entrance into the twilight zone of the upscale motel-hotel is a beginning of a LONG fascinating weird night! The pond full with abnormally large koi fish is intriguing with colorfully large floral arraignments everywhere create a cozy atmosphere for the lobby/waiting area. The huge banquet room holding a wedding of 400 people to the left of the lobby and bar / lounge spinning top 40's and 90's music all night across on the right of the lobby become a clash of a bar/wedding hopping evening. The lounge is completely updated with fancy VIP leather couches, bright big bar, and gleaming dance floor! The free night stay was greatly appreciated with fresh clean towels, sheets, welcoming smell, and the surprise guest that walked-in my room with his key card! His name was similar to mine and guest services accidentally sent him to my room with an access card. Awkward. read more

Awful. Kept awake all night by people next door incredibly drunk and yelling, pounding on the walls, crank calling us, yelling in the hallways, setting off the alarms and vomiting. The front desk did not offer to move us--just knocked on their door to tell them to stop. Clearly they should have moved us and called the police because these people were out of control. I want to give a big thumbs up to this hotel. We had our daughter's Sweet 16 there and itn was an awesome experience. The entire staff from the banquet managers to the waitstaff made the event memorable. Evrything was done very professionally and effiently. The Crystal Room, where the event was held was decorated beautiully by the staff. During the event the food was excellent. I had my wedding at royal regency in october. They require payment two weeks before, or you can put the amount on HOLD on your credit card and pay cash at a later time. Well this is exactly what we THOUGHT we were doing. Instead, SOME IDIOT charged my credit card for over $17,000, instead of placing it on a hold. So now this means I'm left paying interest on something I never even used, because then it took them over a month just to take it off!!!! My husband has been calling since October, I have called, NOT ONE PHONE CALL BACK!!!!! I have been told for the last 7 MONTHS that they are waiting for the owner to discuss. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN DONT DO NOT CARE!! On top of that-- the entire process they acted like they were doing me a favor. I have never had a room that trembles. And though they end the parties at midnight, guest services was so unapologetic. Then asked for pilllows and got a pillow with the pillowcases on top, like "you do it!" That's on top of that, the parking lot was packed with cars from the events. When I asked why they didn't have reserved parking for guest of the hotel (as opposed to event goers), the answers that was given to me was " they are all our guests. The fancy photos and sliding bathroom partitions can't change the fact that the walls here are paper thin, making it feel like a cheap flop-house. I can hear every conversation and tv in the hallway, foyer, neighboring rooms, and the rooms neighboring those, not to mention the highway it's next to. My company put me up in this hotel, which means I'm here for work, which means I would like to sleep. No one else here seems interested in that. I live in hotels a good portion of the year for work, and haven't had trouble sleeping in a hotel since I was a young backpacker staying in cheap hostels. We had our wedding reception in the Crystal Ballroom on 9-2-17. The hotel is clean and charming with a touch of purple elegance as well. We began meeting and corresponding with management several months before. The professionalism, courtesy, generosity, and attention to detail provided to us by everyone connected with this establishment (including the front desk, waitstaff, and other staff members more than met (and in most cases exceeded) our expectations. Anton, Armat, and Sidita were consistent and responsive to all inquiries and requests. We required a good deal of attention and we received it from start to finish. While our event was not a huge nor particularly elaborate affair (about 75 guests) the response we received from our guests placed our reception at the top of their lists when it came to the organization of the affair and how the staff treated them. The hotel and accommodations were lovely, food was delicious, and the service was top notch. We will definitely return and we encourage everyone that had great things to say to us about their experience to book their future events at the RRH as well. Saturday, August 19, 2017 we went to a wedding at the Royal Regency Hotel. Let me start by saying, the place number on the table where put wrong and we had to change tables. At the new table we were sitting and the table behind us had was no bread. They had the butter but like I said no bread. When I asked the waiter several times can you bring bread to the last two tables, he finally comes back and says they where out of bread (unacceptable). When the salad was served, it had so much BLACK pepper, you could not eat it (pepper not ground enough). At my friend's table when the kids meal was delivered and the kids asked for ketchup the waiter informed them that they had no ketchup available (meal not eaten by the kids). That was a LIE, since at the table I was sitting at and asked for ketchup for the kids ketchup was sent over. I assume you normally have a fruit salad, salad, pasta and then your meal. That was not the case. Fruit salad, salad, main meal and at the end the pasta. I have never been served that way. You had to keep asking for water, because they did not automatically refilled your glass. Finally they had a chocolate fountain, that stopped working. It was spitting chocolate all over. Some of the wait staff was very rude. They had three large functions happening that night. The bathroom should have had an attendant to clean it out. Towards the end the bathrooms were horrible and a bit smelly. Unfortunately, people pay a lot for a wedding and these items can be very upsetting. Would I recommend this place . . . The staff here is truly amazing , especially James , Marco and Mirvet at the front desk who went out of their way to make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the beds are out of this world . Not to mention FREE BREAKFAST!!! And it's not the crap most hotels serve as "free breakfast" it's better than what you would get from a diner .. The management and the front desk people are very rude , The restaurant hours are for absolutely no reason it always close the restaurant whenever they feel like it, me and my wife wanted to get food from the restaurant so we called to make sure they close at 8:30 on a Sunday and we asked twice and they said yes he has done morning at 7:45 on the right the restaurant was close On Saturday night they did not serve us because they said we have a large party downstairs and we cannot serve anybody else that is just disrespectful Just because a large party spending more money we deserve the same service, we are staying here and spending money at least we deserve some food that we are paying for , On Friday night we called the restaurant was open but we could only order 4 things out of it out of the entire menu , I do not recommend staying there!!!! read more

Stayed here for 4 nights to visit my sister in NYC (retired NYC police officer, and USN veteran). I am a USAF veteran, and have worked for 30 years. The hotel was nice, clean, a little noisy but, hey, you make $$ throwing parties, right? Free complimentary breakfast was nice, not just bagels and donuts, but hot breakfast. (they're on a roll, good place) All went well, I checked out from my 4 night stay, got my closing bill and came home, went back to work. Next thing I knew I was getting denials ($30 a pop). I checked my bank to discover an additional charge from this place for $150, and when I called the place and asked to speak with a manager, they said my family stole towels ($150 worth????). I told the manager I come from a military and law enforcement family we do NOT steal. his attitude was, well the maid said you did, so sorry. I would not suggest this place to anyone that does not have an extra couple hundred bucks to donate to who ever this fund goes to. I asked the people working at the front desk of they had sinus problems since working here and they said yes. I only give this hotel 1 star due to the amount of dirt and nastiness that are in the rooms. I don't like to complain about things but I would should have been smarter when booking my rooms here and yelped it myself. $539 for 3 nights of disgust and ruckus. The rooms are dirtier then any place I have ever stayed before, the vent in the bathroom looks like it has never once been cleaned. The beds are terrible and the carpets are just plain GROSS. The hotel has a banquet hall and night club on the main floor. Needless to say when you book your rooms they do not give you this information. So Me having a 4 year old, I did not know there would be drunken madness, or loud bass noise going on for most of the night. I'm very disappointed in the hotel. I called and asked for the manager to give me a call back so I could make sense of the lack of cleanliness and drunken escapades that they have going on there and never received one and still have not 3 days after check out with multiple calls to the hotel. I booked a month in advance and paid in full with a non-cancelable reservation for four nights. When I tried to check in after a long days work was told they couldn't or wouldn't honor my paid and confirmed reservation as they had no room for the Saturday night. Eventually the manager was summoned and told me there was absolutely no room available. He provided no real explanation and no apology. In fact blaming me for not sending a fax (?). He then disappeared and left the mess to a desk clerk. She made several phone calls but was unable to help me. I was referred here for brunch. Obviously, that person isn't my friend. Who serves brunch with bacon but no eggs, bagels, french toast, waffles or absolutely no breakfast at all?! The food isn't even lukewarm. You pay $38 immediately upon sitting and then they put a purple band on your arm (ghetto). They have salmon, chicken, poor grade slices of beef, macaroni and cheese and macaroni salad. Regular salad round mini potatoes and some other stuff. Not very appetizing. The music played by a DJ was the only highlight of the visit. And, you only get ONE mimosa with your meal. Not bottomless mimosas like other establishments. This place has a weird setup where the front desk is actually up on the second floor, and the entrance for it is really the rear entrance of the building. I stayed here one night recently and could not believe there was no blanket/comforter on the beds at all. I was staying with my mother who has a high body temperature and likes to keep the air conditioner up high all night. So I absolutely froze because of there being nothing more than a sheet on the bed. I went to the front desk to ask about this and they actually said they have no blankets on the beds because it's the summer, and that I could just adjust the heat in the room - they seemed to lack the understanding of particular situations such as staying in a room with someone who needs the air on and so forth. They told me I had to wait until the maintenance staff came in THE NEXT MORNING! By the time I got up and found a maintenance person it was almost check-out time anyway. And most of the staff does not speak English so the person I talked to didn't understand what I was saying. I had to go back to the front desk and tell them, they finally had someone SEND UP a blanket to me (so I still had to wait longer), so I got about 1 hour to actually have the blanket before checking out. I am staying here right now, I checked in last night there were 3 parties going on till 1 am the floors were shaking inthe room. The noise in the hallway was loud I am staying here because it is close to the church my wedding is at today. The bathroom has mold. The sink is clogged. The rooms are dingy and gross. The staff are mediocre. Too expensive for what you actually end up getting. Don't expect a blanket, extra towels or extra pillows. I just wouldn't stay there ever again. read more
