I looked in advance on Google earth (which the image was from a few years ago) and the course was burnt up and bare. Went 9-1-24 and the fairways/rough was in bad shape. Greens were punched recently but were in awful shape. Tees were almost perfect though. If I lived in the neighborhood and was a member I would be furious. For only a few golf courses in college station it's sad there isn't better options.

Joining the tennis at pccc has seriously been such a joy and highlight for me for the past 2 years. The club also offers exercise classes and has a decent gym that my husband uses. One of the best things that the club offers is kids Klub!!! It's super affordable and allows parents to be involved- it's the only way I've been able to play tennis again! In addition, pccc has a good restaurant that changes its menu a lot and offers a great variety. They have a great view of the golf course, good specials on various nights, live music some, decent prices and more! The pool was also redone fairly recently and includes a swim up bar, splash pad, slide, beach front entrance! The golf course is pretty nice and it doesn't feel like you're even in college station. The club offers kids sports camp in the summer too! This club offers so so much to individuals, couples, and families!! I highly recommend joining here as it's an affordable club in town and also is a wonderful experience! They also offer half off initiation fees throughout the year at various times, CHECK IT OUT!! Chris was so very good at communicating with me. The room was very clean. Plenty of hot water. Every detail was thought of; shower gel, shampoo, ear plugs, small bottle of water and chocolates. Very good air condition for an older house. Very quiet, we didn't hear any other guest. Bed was very comfortable. I can't wait to come back and stay again. Highly recommend!

Stephanie took over the main coordination for our wedding and she did a stellar job. She always made sure information was passed quickly and helped make our day incredibly special. From pinning boutonnières to wrangling rouge flower girls, she was amazing. We served caesar salad, lasagna, green beans, and bread. I have to be honest, we didn't do a taste sampling (although it was offered to us), and I wasn't expecting anything great. However, when we finally got the eat the meal on our wedding day, it was phenomenal. I truly believe it was the best lasagna I have ever eaten (don't tell my mom that!). It was easily my favorite part of the meal. My very close second favorite part of the meal was the salad. MMM! Fresh, and just an overall tasty dish. The Astin also supplied our cakes. In our package we didn't get to choose anything that had to do with the cakes (which may be a negative for some people, but we were actually pretty glad it was done for us). The cakes were delicious. Soft cake and creamy icing on the brides cake and grooms cake. Chris, the florist, did a great job with all of the arrangements, too. I had a bouquet of blue hydrangeas for a 4 o'clock wedding. I got my bouquet at 3 o'clock and even in the harsh sun, they never wilted. Around 5 pm, I stuck them in some water and they were still beautiful when we left for our honeymoon the next day. Overall, if we had to do it again, we would choose the Astin every time.

The two ladies that served us were very pleasant and happy to be of service! I was genuinely impressed at how happy these two ladies were to be helping us enjoy our evening of catching up. I must say, every employee I encountered was very pleasant. Working at the BKG & Wine Depot must be enjoyable because you could tell they all genuinely loved their work. I was able to meet the owner; he made sure to greet each guest and make sure they felt welcome; he is nothing short of wonderful! Since it was a chilly night, we only had a few people enjoy the amazing outdoor space they have. I can see that this outdoor space would call to the small group of friends wanting to catch up or the individual that needs to wind down after work and get deeper into that book they have been meaning to spend more time with! Cocoa's advertises itself as a kitchen supply store, and they definitely carry plenty of upscale brands (Zwilling, Breville, Le Creuset). We, however, were there for the Chocolate Gallery. The kitchen is surrounded by glass, so you can see all of the chocolate delicacies being made. We stopped in a few days before Valentine's day, so chef was making chocolate covered strawberries. While peering in, we noted the Culinary Institute of America chef's jacket on the wall behind us. This elevated our expectation! We made our way to the Chocolate Gallery, where a lovely attendant explained offerings that included a variety of cakes and artisan chocolates. Though they looked delicious, we passed on the cakes and strawberries, and selected 3 artisan chocolates each. These are the type of chocolates that you savor, letting them melt in your mouth. The mouth feel of these gems was smooth with no waxiness or grainy feeling, and the varied fillings enhanced the complexity. This isn't a penny candy store, but you're getting fine chocolates. Unfortunately, we were so busy savoring the chocolate, that we didn't take any photos! I hope Bryan supports this store during COVID-19 so that we can visit again when we come back.

The building sits well off of the main road, giving it a private feel. It is a relaxed venue surrounded by trees and facing a pond (with a fountain). Plenty of parking. They have a full kitchen, a bar area, two bathrooms (with a sufficient changing area for brides/bridesmaids), and sufficient round and rectangular tables to set the room up however you want. Steve Porter bent over backwards to make sure that everything was perfect for us. This is a great venue in a great location at a great price.
