Roy's comics is a splendid shop in downtown Bemidji. It's a treasure cove of every comic book enthusiast! also they have more than just comics, like fantasy books and figurines. I stopped in at Roy's while I was on vacation in June 2017. I was thoroughly impressed. I was looking for a bunch of back issues from the 1960s-70s, and walked out an hour later with about $125 worth of goodies. They included a Mister Miracle issue 1 ($8), a coverless Daredevil Annual 1 ($3.50), a high-grade T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #10 ($20), coverless copies of the Fantastic Four saga in which Dr. Doom steals the Silver Surfer's powers ($2.50 to $3 each), EC war reprints ($3 to $4 apiece) and a bunch of 25-cent Marvel western reprints ($3 to $4 apiece). The building is large and the amount of stock on display is impressive. The place was quiet and the staff did their jobs just fine. To be honest, I was expecting a comic store about one-twentieth as impressive as what I found, because Bemidji is a small town (population about 14,000). But next time I'm traveling through the area, I will be back. read more

Best comic shop in bemidji? its the only one, genius. Honestly if you think this place is great then you must have never been to another comic shop before. They are disorganized, the store is a dark mess with random junk scattered everywhere. they stamp the insides of some of their comic books with their street and email address. I actually got one comic there and the stupid stamp was put right on top of the wording and I couldnt even read it. Their comics are over-priced, their magic cards are over-priced. I'd have to imagine everything else is as well. They don't even have tables set up for people to play games. I've been to comic shops all over the state, from Shinder's to Source to Outpost 2000 and Roy's is handsdown the shittiest shop of them all. Also, Roy... no one wants to buy your stupid jesus books. Its a comic shop for crying out loud, keep that garbage out of there you no talent hack. read more

Poor selection, stinks like an ashtray. No adults appear to work there only an eight year old and a few toddlers.

The selection is lacking in quality and in reasonable pricing. Also, I've never actually seen an adult working in the store. The last time I was there I bought a used book from a 10 year old. read more
