The initial booking process was professional, and I particularly appreciated the honesty when they called me well in advance to correct a mistake on their initial quote. Unfortunately, this positive start did not last. The main issues began on the day of the MOT and service. A misunderstanding over the 8 am appointment time, which was not clarified in the text reminder I received, meant I arrived later than expected. I am happy to own my part in that delay; however, the reaction I received from one of the mechanics was completely unprofessional. Rather than explaining the situation, he was visibly angry, repeatedly checked his watch, and spoke to me in a condescending tone that made me feel incredibly unwelcome. This is not how any customer should be treated. The most significant failure, however, was the complete breakdown in communication later in the day. After approving necessary repairs, I was left waiting for an update. I received no calls at all towards the end of the day. It was only at 5:30 pm, after the reception and workshop staff had apparently gone home, that another employee fortunately thought to check and call me to say my car was still on the ramp and would not be ready. To be left without my car overnight, with no warning whatsoever from the team responsible, is simply unacceptable. The car was ready the next morning, and the final repair work seems fine. However, even the complimentary car wash was symbolic of the lack of care shown--it was a poor effort that failed to remove simple surface dirt. While the reception staff were friendly and the work was eventually completed, the stressful encounter with the mechanic and the shocking lack of end-of-day communication mean I cannot recommend this garage. A business is only as strong as its weakest link, and unfortunately, the disorganisation and unprofessional attitude here overshadowed any positives.

John is a friendly guy and when I was having problems with the electrics on my car on Saturday, I called up and he was more than happy if I ran it down for him to give it a good looking over. Turned out it was a blown fuse that was easily replaced within 10 minutes and with me fully expecting to pay to have it fixed he gave it to me for free and said no probs. This is the sort of great local business still out there and I'll definitely still keep going here for the great service and great MOT's.

I called 5 Star garage as it's close by. I have a L200 Pick up that had just got a green light…read moreflashing on the dash that was for the 44 (The 44 system itself worked perfectly, just the light). I booked it in on Christmas eve morning. At teatime they said they had diagnosed the fault to the 4 wheel drive switch. This would need replacing but after Christmas as they coulden't obtain the part till then. Cost for Diagnoses was £45. They then rang and said they had the part in the year year costing £62.50 more. I took it down and also told them the rear light near side lamp was out and could they replace it at the same time. They said yes. Shortly later they rang. we've fitted the Clutch sensor at £129 bill, but we now need to fit a different sensor as well now. £90 plus 1.5 hours labour !. Now if i'd know the green flashing lamp would have cost me £175 AND it would be EXCLACTLY THE SAME as when I Brought it in before Christmas DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD HAVE PAID AND BROUGHT IT IN. Halfway home I stopped to check the lamp they fitted the the rear light. I had to go back they'ed forgot to replace it. 5 Star serviceSorry Not this time. It's not going into this garage again.
